Voyage of the Icy Star(3.5 Pathfinder seeker thread)

How about a sexy sea voyage through uncharted waters and islands, finding new and exotic things to run away from screaming in terror? One of my previous game exploded, so that just means more room for another one, until I get players that can stick together. Which does mean that the two players from before are going to be in this one, since that is only fair.

I do need two new girls to play in this one.

Rules:

- Level 6.
- Pathfinder.
- 5d6 Standard. I like my players to be slightly more badass then your usual baddies you meet.
-20,000 starting gp.
-One personal magic item that fits your character and what sort of specializes he/she has. Like a rogue could get a bag of holding and a priestess would get a magical holy symbol.
-No tome or battle or magic.
- Dragon magazines maybe, subject to my approval in what those have.

Go ranger. You'll be going to uncharted islands in this game, and having someone with maxed survival skills will be needed.

Well so far we have a ranger and a swashbuckler, so no arcane boom boom and no cleric to heal shit. I always do like it when the cleric in the party is a woman, just makes things more fun for me.

Of course right now I'm recovering from doing my FASFA.. I don't get it.. I can troubleshoot aircraft electronics with ease, I'm learning to admin.. but you start talking loan terms and my brain turns to mulch.

If I did a game again as GM, I don't think it would be pathfinder.. Standing rule for me is I have to play a few real life games first..and I've been told by the local gamer shop that there aren't any pathfinder games open right now.. SR4 and Warhammer Fantasy Battles are the big things down there.

I don't see much of a point for power attack and cleave. Those feats can be used in other areas. Also did you spend all of your money, and what did you get that was your free personal item?

Also list the abilities of your maid outfit for all to see.

Assuming one goes for divine metamagic cheese, Power attack at least makes sense... Though I don't think PF has DMM stuff in it.

I couldn't find other feats I liked and cleric isn't really about spell damage so much as buffs. I spent all of it and didn't know how powerful of an item the free one was.

Get yourself a ring of mystic healing, that is a great cleric item. It adds a +1 to your caster levels for healing spells and healing surges, and has 3 charges per day:

1 charge. 2d6 extra healing.
2 charge. 3d6 extra healing.
3 charge. 4d6 extra healing.

Also remember that clerics in pathfinder do not get turn undead automatically. You can get the turn undead feat to unlock that, then get divine armor. Divine armor allows you to expend a turn attempt as a swift action to gain DR5/- until the start of your next turn. It is a very powerful cleric feat.

I do not recall, since I use a feat summary pdf. Divine Armor is just how I described it though.

It is in PHBII. I use 3.5 feats when they are awesome like this one is. Just do remember that you need a feat to turn undead in the first place.

I should also make it clear that your cursed maid's outfit aversion to sea water is something that you do not know about first. Since I don't think your character would be sloshing around casually in the sea in a maid's outfit just to see what will happen.

Everything else is obvious to you.

Ahh, ok then. Could I get spontaneous healer, it's complete divine and would let me swap out spells for heal spells like a normal 3.5 cleric.

And that's one aspect of it I'm certain she doesn't know about.

Almost done with the boat. It is going to be a Theurgeme. Magic powered paddle boat, with two paddles on the sides and a fire elemental trapped in the 'furnace' in the cargo hold.

Thinking Howl's Moving castle, just with boat and not a castle on legs.

That upper right floor plan is the quarter deck. It is the highest part of the boat, with there being no sails to worry about. The quarterdeck is right above the main deck and above the cabin area of that floor, with there being those two small storage areas and the bedroom and stairs to the lower deck.

The lower deck has three bedrooms and the engines to the paddles, which go down into the cargo bay. Since it is powered by a fire elemental, it is quiet enough for keeping yourselves sane. Still, whoever gets the better bedroom on the main deck is going to be funny to figure out.

The cargo bay has the engines and the furnace of the fire elemental, as those are those red squares. The brown squares are the beds of the bedrooms, for easy spotting.

Also might be a good idea to get some form of ranged attack. You don't have to be experts in it, but if it does come to ship to ship combat, shooting a few crossbolt bolts into the mass of pirates does not hurt.

I'm reading into stormwreck and the sort of ship weapons they have. It would be wise for the 4 of you to brush up on that book too.

Making up the wizard, but I need something from you. On a sea ship, playing the spellbook is going to suck without a way to handle it. I have a spell I'd like to use, but it's from the 'Legends and Lairs' book Spells and Spellcraft. It's called protect book.

It's near identical to This Spell. Only difference is the one in the spells and spellcraft book lasts a year per level, and only works on books. Considering I'm just wanting it to protect my spellbook from being sloshed by water and fire, that would definitely be my preference since I don't want to cast it once a week.

It would be far more easier to get a magic spellbook that is water proof and can float. That could be your free magical item, plus some other interesting buffs that we can discuss over, to make it useful.

I grabbed a basic crossbow, for what good it'll do with my Dex. And I'll take the bottom room, Sadie would prefer as much privacy as she could get.
