Vista sucks.... help....

So after messing around with my computer to try and get the sound to work, it still doesn't work.  Any thoughts?  We've tried reinstalling with the driver CD.  We've tried going online for updates.  We've messed with the sound settings, and still.. silence!  *screams*

Did you do anything with the hardware at all?

The speakers?  No.  They're right where they were plugged in and everything.

I was more thinking the sound card. If you'd had the box open to do anything inside, the soundcard might have come loose or something.

I doubt its Vista, like Hairy said, it could be any number of non-Vista issues. I've actually got Vista and it pretty much works like any other windows program I have. I like it better than XP and definitely better than ME.

I'm happy to report it's working now.  I'm not sure how he fixed it, but my hunky computer geek fixed it when he got home.  It was something in the settings.
