Hey there, I usually specialize in combat oriented characters such as soldiers or warriors. However I have grown quite accustomed to playing them outside combat situations --normal life, etc.

So then the Japanese themed one maybe? High geisha and a soldier fall in love? Sounds a bit like South Pacific, but we could make it better I think. ;)

Well I'd like to set a bit more of a setting/plot/character basis if you don't really mind?

Sure. Um...well the thoughts I have are:

1) Traveling thtough the forest alone, my character runs into some trouble. A knight (you) happens to see/hear something's wrong and come to investigate and go from there.

2) In a city protected by castle walls, my character is out on the streets in the dark, gets jumped and your character comes to save her to find most of the assailants knocked out or bruised though she still needs some help with the rest.

3) There is to be a great tournament and each knight is assigned a young woman to help them with their horses and/or introduce them in the tournament.

What do you think?

Well if you want to, we could incorporate more than one kind of RP into one. She could be cursed and turn into a unicorn or a dragon during certain times. I think for the time period, unicorn might be best because they were hunted and prized for their horns. That would make it so that she's valuable as the creature as well, and initially pure. Dragons were greatly feared and were hunted out of such emotion. Both were hunted for status symbols as well though it was thought that one who could tame a unicorn could wield it's powers where a dragon was seen as unable to be tamed.

I simply ask because if this is fantasy I can use the exact character I love to use. A knight from a homeland lost, both gifted and cursed with something that causes him to live until killed. For the record though, I'm not quite sure how one would befriend a dragon or unicorn, especially someone like a knight no?

See I was thinking she would be a woman who was cursed because of her father killing an ancient one of either of those beasts which cursed him and his bloodline including her. Therefore, she is a young woman who becomes that creature only at certain times. Like a were creature or like the curse on princess Fiona in Shrek. Though a bit more.....I don't know the word for it. Let's just go with different. Hahaha.

Personality: calm, quiet, trustworthy, intelligent, tactful, large sense of honor.

History: Hitori is the last of the once known as the kingdom of Dredai;  A powerful kingdom that had  been one of the first. As one of the first kingdoms, it was granted a special power that allowed the kingdom to prosper amid the desert. This power was so great that the forces of darkness began to plot and plan a way to steal it. Sending forth an army of bloodthirsty darklings of all kinds the civilization was ripped apart once infiltrated by agents of those wishing to destroy it. After sealing the power away, a scant few people escaped the clutches of the dark army, and Dredai became the epicenter of hell on earth. Hitori was already a veteran knight at that point, an Order Captain... and the perfect vessel to play host to the power that need be hidden. Both blessed and cursed by this power, the Knight will never die unless killed. To this day he walks the earth making what he can of the gift given to him, whilst doing his best to cope with its curse.

Weapons: Throwing knives, short blade, dagger, sword.

Curse: Unable to die unless killed

She doesn't like her hair making her stand out so much, so a lot of the time she keeps it hidden in a long braid beneath her vest, with a hat or a cap hiding the rest. Though she tends to look like a young man quite a bit due to how she dresses most of the time, she loves dressing up and going to balls and dances and events of all kinds.  She has long fingers that are good for playing piano, though she would rather play the harp or flute if she had to play an instrument.

Personality: Loves being around horses and loves the trill of both hunting and of tournaments. She is an adventurous, firey young woman, ready to take on any challenges she is faced with. She is not the conventional woman in that her only dream is not to be a housewife, but instead has much larger dreams for herself. She is a flirt, though she doesn't realize it, which can get her into trouble.

History: Since she was a little girl, Juliana has attended tournaments with her father. She had fallen in love with the sport and swore one day she would get involved with them somehow. For years she helped her father in his practices, grooming and tacking his horses, setting up the targets, and everything else she could. As she grew older, and her father grew weaker, she began to experiment on her own, jousting on her own horse bareback with a blunt pitch fork and a bail of hay. She found ways to fasten saddles tighter, make shields harder to splinter, make armor more resilient and many more things. She studied each knight and would give her favored knights advice and point out weaknesses of their opponents. Then, finally, she was old enough to be a tournament maiden. This meant that she would be assigned to a knight and would help them in tournaments, the way she had with her father in practices, but this time for real. Her joy in this would be short lived however, because soon after her 17th birthday, her father passed away. It was then that she learned of the curse that had befallen to her. Her father had left her a letter explaining how he had once killed an ancient unicorn. One of the oldest and wisest creatures on the planet. One of the five unicorns that had survived God's great flood. In punishment of his crime, his children would bear the burden of being hunted as unicorns as well. Afraid and understanding her many dreams of being with other unicorns, she fled her home. Many years have passed and she has learned how to keep her accursed self concealed. She has now found her way to the city of Reand and is planning to resume her role as tournament mistress.

Weapons: Fast reflexes, long and sharp nails, two small daggers she keeps on her person at all
times, and when she can get a hold of them, bow(s) and arrows. She is an exceptional archer.

Curse: She believes her appearance is her main curse, but her technical curse is turning into a unicorn when the
full moon is shining and when a fellow mythical creature is nearby.

Other: She is hunted because it is believed that she is the last true unicorn left in the world (when really people simply don't see them anymore). Some believe she should be killed and her horn harvested, others believe she should be captured and tamed and her powers used in times of war, while still others believe she should be captured/followed as she will lead them to heaven. This causes much trouble for her as she is not a real unicorn and because she must find how to hide when she transforms.


Also, what do you think the title should be? The Cursed? Of Time unknown?

Appearance: Not a particularly big person, Sir Jacob is a lithe, wiry warrior, that is stronger than he  appears. Fair of face, and dark of hair, Jacob is the picture of knightly chivalry. His armour is gleaming, his tabard is clean. His destrier strong and able. Over his plate armour, he wears a dark red tabard, and on his horse and shield he bears a checkered blue and white pattern.

Personality: The interesting thing about of Jacob the Bold is how he acts on and off the field. In batte, Jacob is an expectational Knight, despite his age. Particularly know for his boldness on the battlefield, rarely shying away from personal changes or taking charges that people wouldn't often risk. He quickly earn a good reputation on the battlefield, and indeed earned his full Knighthood rather quickly, at the age of 17.

On the other hand, Jacob is rather reserved and well-mannered person. He prefers to listen rather than talk, and is usually slow to speak. When he does speak, however, he is very deliberate and thoughtful. He dislikes conflict amongst his friends, and will rather apologize and move on rather than force the issue. Dutiful and kind, Jacob up holds the rules of chivalry to the letter.

History: Only son of Castellan Garamont, Jacob grew up the way a knight should. He was schooled in the art of war as well as maths and the sciences. He was wielding a sword by eight summers, and a lance by eleven. He was the young of three children, having two sisters. The eldest by 5 years, Elise, gifted him with a pendant before leaving to be courted in another province. The two were close through out their childhood, and Jacob continues to wear it to this day.

A fan of tournaments since a child, he was able to attempt his first a 15. He lost terribly, but the experience was exhilarating. He began practicing for the stocks day in and out. By his seventeenth summer, his father had plans to hosts another tournament. However, it wasn't to be when a Warband of orcs from the Forest of Chalons. His father rallied all the knights in attendance in an attempt to stop the horde at the Alsone River. The knights found fierce resistance from the greenskins, and despite a massive calvary charge, the orcs stills cut swathes through the knights. After a failed attack on the flank of the main column of orcs, Jacob rallied the remaining knights, and led a charge into the heart of the orcs. The viciousness of the greenskins was nothing compare to the righteous fury shown by the knights. The charge drove them from the field, and Jacob was made a full knight of the Realm for his heroics.

In the past few years, Jacob has been climbing the ladder of the tournament circuit, racking up wins, and even a pair of first place finishes. While he'll be the first to admit that there were not very large, many note the potential this rising star of the lance holds, and fans look forward to the future.

Weapons: Jacob carries his arming sword, and a kite shield. As well, he hides a dagger in his boot. He owns a Warhorse, Lightfoot, on which he fights with a lance.

In his wake, Leon seems to have a sort of pressure-like air that emits from his being. As if it suffocates the weak and even grabs the attention of those who are more fortunate than others. Some say this pressure measures the amount of souls he has sent to the afterlife. However, this has not been proven to be true.

Apart from his radiant pressure bright crimson hair, deep-teal hued eye, and quite an apparel to match, Leon's looks are quite indifferent from most. A black eye-patch covers his right eye.  An old white cape clings to his shoulders and tied at the chest, the material spans up to the middle of his head, down to his ankles. Metal shin guards overlapping baggy brown trousers completes the look with a waist guard and dark undershirt.

  Even before he was born, the strange pressure was given off of his soul. Leon's name soon spread out across Japan before he was even at the age of one. He was even named a 'born' killer after birth, due to all the fight he had on his way out of the womb. Gossipers were already at work creating foolish stories of Leon's coming future. But, behind the scenes, it would seem that one prophecy had been accurate. Leon truly was turning out to be quite the fighter.
  
  For Leon's sake, his parents agreed to send him off, when he was old enough, to Europe. They had decided that Leon would be better off if he was away from all his fame in Japan for a while, and he could return when he was ready. However, when Leon's grandfather learned that they were sending away his prodigal grandson, he went ballistic and slaughtered his own son.
  
  Jin's motives for killing his son still have not been discovered, however Leon's mother was able to escape into hiding before being slew. Now, Jin is prowling, awaiting the day Leon would return to his homeland, Japan.
  
  However, before Leon was set to return, he would grow into a fine young man. A small family had taken him in, and he was blessed to have been trained in the art of sword fighting. Being raised by Europeans, Leon picked up on English quite well. As for his training under Maestro Sinclair, his adoptive father, Leon quickly learned to wield a rapier, mastering even the most difficult techniques by the time he was seven. The young prodigy was able to match Romeo, surpassing his father-figure in one crucial area, agility.
  
  Agility came to Leon almost like growing hair, he just oozed speed and reflex, increasing his abilities as a dueler even further. However, when Leon was ten, he decided that he wanted to travel the world. Respecting his progress, Sinclair allowed Leon to travel alone, knowing that he was fully capable of handling himself when he had a rapier in hand.
  
  So, as he set off, Leon roamed the eastern continent for six months before sailing off toward the United States.
  
  -Adolescence-
  In America, Leon was able to learn a couple other styles of fighting, ones that didn't require weaponry. Though he was still a master of the dueling art La Rapiere des Sinclair, Leon still felt that he needed to learn more. That's what he enjoyed, learning new things. However, as he continued to travel west, he revolved entirely back into the Chinese Empire, learning a few things, he headed south.
  
  Hitting Korea on his way to Japan, Leon picked up on another set of tricks and techniques. However, as he continued to travel to all of these different countries, he became even more known than he was in Japan. Unfortunately, during a raid from bandits on a small village, Leon suffered a life-altering injury, losing his right eye. He soon covered up the nasty scar with an eye-patch. The blade Leon wields also comes from this same time frame, as he became a hero to the village, a masterful blacksmith forged a pure-white blade that was said to be forged straight from Leon's soul. It's whiteness was meant to represent his kind-heartedness, as its design was to display Leon's skill and bravery.
  
  The most important in his life was only beginning however, as he reached the end of Korean territory, Leon met with a strange woman, her demeanor very awkward, yet this woman had something to offer Leon. Her hunchbacked body taught him both the Tsubame Gaeshi and how to control that awkward pressure that he always exerted.
  
  Though she left him after a single year's training, Leon still never realized that this woman was in fact, Kanro Dageki, his mother. After many years of research and hiding, she'd learned more about his pressure, and about their past. Sasaki Kojiro, great ancestor of Shinguru Dageki, had the same issue with his own body, but was able to control it.
  
  Not only that, but the masterful sword technique that he had procreated was passed down to his family for generation, but only to the first born male. So, the technique was extremely difficult for Kanro to come by, let alone master so that she could pass the knowledge on to her own son.
  
  Roleplay Sample
  [size=0]This will explain a single day's training that Leon endures while attempting to learn the Tsubame Gaeshi technique.[/size]
  
  "Wake up you!" shrieked the old, dusty voice of Leon's newest master, Lady. Why Lady? Leon didn't know, but that's all she would allow Leon to call her, anything else and he'd be scolded and punished rather severely. He sighed, groaning errantly into his soft pillow, "Ugh.. why Lady? It's Sunday, can't I at least have a one day vacation?" he asked, voice muffled by the pillow.
  
  Lady lashed him with a small, yet sturdy switch across the butt, his body twinging in pain. "Yeeow! Ok! Jeez! I'll get up!"
  
  Grudgingly, Leon rolled out of his bed and rubbed his eyes gently, I'll get it this time, Leon thought to himself. Then, maybe Lady'll let me have some damn sleep! He grinned as he thought of his victory of finally learning the fabled technique Lady had been trying to teach him.
  
  Swallow Reversal, even in English, the name sounded intimidating, as if Leon would be able to turn a swallow inside out with a single stroke.
  
  Smiling, he hurriedly jumped into his training attire, and was off to meet with Lady once more. The regular routine was always first, thirty push-ups and forty sit-ups had to be completed, then they would eat a prepared meal, then train on balance, agility, and reflex until lunch, then another set of push-ups and sit-ups would need to be completed before they worked on the actual technique itself.
  
  After seven moths of this, Leon was already quite used to the morning regimen, but the final half of their day was always his favorite, as it was the most challenging, and the secret technique had still eluded him, even to this day. However, Leon was determined to get it today, as he felt that he would finally catch a break.
  
  
  
  "No! You must believe that there is nothing other than yourself in this world! Performing this technique is nothing short of breaking the surface of space itself," Lady urged, pointing out the complexity of this single technique.
  
  Leon sighed, as he always did when it came to this speech, "There is just no way to fracture space!" he argued, ranting as he continued to try his hand at the Swallow Reversal, but as he ranted, something stellar was occurring. Leon's pressure was becoming more powerful, and just as irony would have it...
  
  "This technique isn't even possible," he mocked as he quickly slashed downward, "It's a hoax!!" he cried out as he quickly slashed upwards, an unlucky bird being sliced in half as he did so. He blinked, then looked down to the bird, eyes widening as his heartbeat fluctuated into a speedy excitement. He did it, he'd just cut down a swallow in mid-flight...

Wanted to swing by if there are still offers going up.

I've been doing a historical role play with friend and thought it might catch some attention here. It's based in the 1850's and the two characters are currently a ranch hand turned homestead wife and a man who moved out to Montana looking for plots of land to start a farm. Obviously these roles can be adjust but just wanted to throw some bait in the water so to speak.
