The Animagnaverse (Anime/Manga RP)

The Animangaverse is the universe where all Anime and/or Manga characters converge.

The idea is that you chose an anime or manga that your character will represent and base your character around that one anime or manga. So if you chose to represent Naruto/Shippuden than your character will be based on that universe even though they my be interacting with people from different universes more often than not.

I plan to have 10 hero characters 10 villein characters and 5 original heroes and villeins

The story idea is that something is destroying the very fabric of the Animangavers. It simply appeared and was not the product of a villeins plot, though now that it's appeared it has sprouted thoughts...

Queen's Blade is fairly clean. There's boobs everywhere, but no sex is shown and never any private part. There is some fluid in some episodes.

I highly suggest the JP version with EN subtitles, both seasons are up at ..various places..

I was wondering how the game would cope with someone like Haruhi Suzumiya (who was the first person I thought of when I read this game idea). In case you don't know, she is actually God (but isn't aware of it). She introduces things into her world so that she doesn't get bored... people, forces, powers, organisations... her powers of creation being endless but unconscious... but if she does get bored she simply destroys the current world and creates a new one, perhaps saving just those elements from the old world that interest her.

I'm very tempted to play Haruhi - or even, somewhat weirdly, Kyon and just fill the game with some dry self-depreciating monologues about how weird the world is yet Kyon is hardly surprised by it all.

Yes, I'm seriously leaning towards Kyon. He'd hardly do a thing but he would be a solver of various problems in his own way, and writing his thoughts as he struggled to come to terms with the new world around him might make him even more fun to play than Haruhi.

Keitaro is a pretty cool guy too - for a total loser. :P

Let's just leave it at the fact that they were always way too bloody powerful so no one could ever even have a chance when they were around.  There's another bigger reason for my dislike of the show but that's a personal matter.

The thing about Gurren Lagaan is that if you just keep it to the pre-Teppelin phases where humanity hadn't harnessed Spiral Power in any organized way yet,  That solves pretty much all the problems, leaving the characters only very slightly more powerful than Gundam pilots.  (and slightly less powerful, if the pilots are post Universal Century mech pilots who have those wierd mildly magical Gundams)

I'm tempted to go with a fairly gay Shinji Ikari, though if people would rather stay more hetero, I suppose I'd go with Nozomu Itoshiki, the suicidal main character from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.  He's a schoolteacher who desperately wants to die, usually for stupid reasons.  He has an uncanny ability to escape anything that could possibly kill him, which is good, because he teaches a class of psychotically insane obsessive schoolgirls.

As for Shinji, I see the character as bisexual, but leaning slightly towards boys.  He covets women, due to his violent seperation from his mother, but he doesn't actually have the spine to go after them.  Naturally, being so passive, Shinji makes a great patsy or sub, but he doesn't STAY compliant.

I'd be interested to play, yoruichi from bleach. One of the few anime chicks i like, as i dispite romantic interests in anime's because their so weak and forced, their usually never equal to the male chars, and they rarely effect the plot aside from motivating the main character. Meanwhile i find yoruichi a fun and very strong, Independent character, and i'd love to play her.



As i see some gundam talk going around, i'd also like to play, Kallen Kozuki from code geass. This character does kinda suffer from what i stated earlier about anime chicks. Mainly there as a romantic interest between the two male leads. Still i actually found her romance with leluche very fascinating, and shes far from useless, as shes the only one who can take on the main lead in battle, and actually end up saving the other male lead.

I think we have a lot of people preparing for battle and few people who are just planing to live... My character is ready for a fight but that doesn't mean that he has a battle every day. So I would like to have just as many regular citizens as there are battle scared warriors, let's see how Yoruichi from bleach handles being hit on by Kazuma Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho every other day ^_^

I'd actually want yuro to have a quite normal life...Perhaps Kyon finds her in her cat form, and she plays along. (free food)...OMFG I LOVE THAT IDEA!! Yuru hiding around in cat form with someone to sleep in their bed and steal their food while their gone. Maybe Kuwabara...He likes cats if i remember correctly.

Well i prefer the idea of someone like yuro from a Fantasy world, live in a normal world, rather then fight dr doom or something. Some fighting may be fun, but i'd rather see the characters interact.

Ag, I may have to do this for all the characters/animes I don't know. I think the only character here I'm familiar with is Keitaro (and that's only because he flies high over my house at least twice a day trailing blood from his nose).

once again I'm not saying that there wont be combat... those of you with mechs and fighting capability's will just be seen around the arena's more than not. Also there could be evil counterparts out for vengeance and bugging you with battle. Just remember that if you threaten the populace that someone will be dispatched to take care of the situation.

Its because most mangas make it up as they go along. Onepiece/naruto/bleach didn't know if they'd be a success or if they'd hit off or not. Dragon ball z was only meant to go to Freeza, but then when it was such a big hit, they were forced to keep it going. Thats why certain mangas like Naruto if you keep up with that, turns really forced the longer they go on. Another good bleach example is, Yammy 0...You who read the manga know what that means.

What father in his right mind gives the keys to a supermech to his 12 year old rich girl daughter and her whiny shy boyfriend, then puts them in a team and sends them to fight on his company's behalf?
when they came up against Nova he flattened their team.
the team has grown up, some have moved on, but the rich girl, now 17, is still bitter and spiteful toward Nova, and the sex rumor about them the papparatzi started just made her hate him more.  ;D

well she and nova never actually slept togeather. while Nova explored the galaxy with his newfound freedom and soul, she spiraled out of control for years burying her pain in sex drugs and plastic surgery.
Her shy boyfriend tried to help her, but he made somthing of himself and is now part of the NEG military, he's let the battle with Nova go, and moved on becoming the anime hero he was destened to be.

If you are happy with me being 100% ignorant of everything about them I can join, but please don't go assuming that when you say 'XYZ turns up and uses his ABC machine' I'll have the first clue what you're on about!

Me asking questions about 'what is that?' and 'wait - why did that happen?' may just slow things down and annoy you all... :( I mean I'd love to play, I just don't usually watch anime that's non-romance, non-reality and usually non-high school based.

That's fine Haibane, I actually hope that if people use an attack they try to find a video clip of it or something and asking why isn't a crime... just know that sometimes the answer is going to be 'because this attack defies the laws of physics' or 'that's just how it works'

I have no problem with the laws of physics being defied or any number of weird things happening, heck, this is anime after all... its just that if someone mentions say, a mecha arriving and describing some weapon on it discharging by calling it the 'Green Frog Disrupter Gun' be aware that I won't know what a 'Green Frog Disrupter Gun' is so for me to have a clue what is going on you'd have to describe it's effects, noise and so on... or as you say, link me to an episode or clip where the 'Green Frog Disrupter Gun' gets used.

That's why I'm being cautious, me asking for explanations of what that looks like or sounds like is sure as eggs going to frustrate people.

Nothing wrong with that, seeing as your character wouldn't know about the others. I dont know about some of these, but simply reading their personality and their setting makes me interested in seeing them interact.

I think Sinoraa is suggesting that a weird universe, with all kinds of strange people and creatures in it with all sorts of powers is exactly the world Haruhi might make if she got bored.

It might well be in fact though she doesn't need to appear in the game.

Kyon will certainly think it's something of her doing and start off trying to work out what went on and how it can be fixed.

And as I said above her character should not appear since the Kyon character would then have his game tramlined into working with her/being with her and I'd like to experiment with what Kyon might be like on his own.

I've seen far to many RP's lost because we had to wait for three-one players missing from the ideal number.

I think I'll go with Nozomu Itoshiki, even though he's a much less combat oriented character.  He probably got into the animangaverse as a result of a botched suicide attempt.  The man is impossible to kill, due to uncanny luck and extreme survival instincts; any time something would kill him, he miraculously escapes, suffering at the absolute maximum superficial injuries that put him into a short term coma. 

(In the show, this required one of his students to sodomize his dog, brutally beat his head in with a baseball bat, then blow up his house around him with a massive quanitity of explosives.  He was on his feet again within a week.)

Nozomu is very old-fashioned, and he'd interact interestinly with people from classical era Japan.  He's also very very interested in rope work, for obvious reasons (hanging himself) and is implicitly into shibari.  Some of his other hobbies include caligraphy, looking for good places to kill himself, and finding dramatic moments to shout "I AM IN DESPAIR!"

it does because the voice actors for the anime are the same for the games now and yes the story lines tend to be bad as well but combine them and you have emotionless voices that sound happy when they die and a story that craps out.
