Palladium/ Rifts: Dino Swamp adventure. full

Looking for five players for a first level introduction Rifts game. Players will be part of an adventuring merc group taking part in a contracted adventure with a number of possible twists and turns.

So here's the run down.

A notable scholar/ Rouge Scientist and his group are looking to make an expedition into the southern wilderness known as Dinosaur swamp. They've contacted numerous Merc companies but none have been prepared enough and willing to take on such a contract. So it comes to the hands of a small band of starting mercs.

Books permitted unless you have a good story line for something not in these books not gonna happen.

Speaking of characters, I have only ever made psionic characters, a Mind Melter based on Starcraft's Sarah Kerrigan (pre-Infestation), and then a custom OCC called the Desert Ranger based off of Fallout New Vegas' NCR Veteran Rangers (with Psionic powers of course).  I do tend to like psionics but do feel it needs some... updating to make them on-par with things.  Think we could make something work?

That, and I guess I should ask if this is going to be a heavy MD game, because I *do* love making unarmed-combat-oriented or capable characters...

Psionics are always good. I've never made a mind-melter based off of starcraft I've made one that mimicked a jedi. (the back story was they watched and got their hands on alot of star-wars bits.)

Check out new west there are a number of classes that might help to mimic a New Vegas NCR ranger. (Have the game myself.)

There are a number of MD beings that would make Hand to hand hard but i intend to try to balance it out a bit. I have a general idea of where I want to players to go what's going to happen between. And a few plot hooks and mini quests in the middle.

Yeah, Gunfighter might work, though I have to admit that it pales in comparison to Crazies, Full-Conversion Borgs, and especially Juicers.  A shame that all the real badass classes require you to be crazy, dying, or in a Robot or Power Armor suit near-constantly : P

Would I be able to have the armor that goes with it too?  It's part of the awesome package after all ^_^

Gunfighter is always a favorite. In rifts though the great equalizer is the tech or class/ racial abilities. Look can also play a lot into it.

as for armor the gun fighter usually leaves the armor to be selected by the character for some of the more expensive armor (naruni tech) to make it more difficult (NE gear is harder to come by) the player only gets part of the cost taken away( the average cost of most EBA) then they must spend the remaining balance out of their starting funds.

With one of the characters being a head hunter assassin right now a Cyber-knight would be the equivalent of like a paladin in a game with mostly thieves. A mind melter would probably fit better.

right now two out of the five starter slots are called your character would be slot three.

Hmm... would a Shifter fit the group well? They're still SDC creatures, and always have reasons to go out on mercenary work, exploration etc. Additionally, they're typically Selfish or Evil, which sounds like it might suit the team better.

I think it's less 'evil' and more the honor he was meaning.  An assassin can be good, in theory, as can my girl who will likely be some type of Mercenary, Gunfighter/Slinger, or etc, but a Knight with a strict code of honor does not mesh so well with a sneaky little assassin-type.

Keelan is correct. The cyberknights honor code would clash with the headhunter.

As for the shifter you don't have to be  evil to play on. The general idea is the group isn't rightous good, but they arent evil.

I did not include atlantis in the book lists but an atlantean undead slayer would be acceptable.

   Galatea quietly gave her niece more and more tattoo powers, training, and study materials.  By the time she was 19, Genie was a full undead slayer.  She left home to travel to Earth in hopes of one day growing strong enough to reclaim the ancestral homeland, but she needed money, experience and friends.  This was why she joined the small mercenary company. 

   Her best friend and lover is a young cat’s eye dragon, who shares her sense of wonder at a new world.

  Honestly, Kee-chan, I think the dragon hatchlings are a little under powered--though maybe that's just because of how much I favor skills.

I like it, and a cats eye dragon hatchling I have seen them and know the hatchlings while MD beings are not the most powerful things out there. Who would be playing the dragon again?

As for a roster I'll be updating the top post with the current filled slots and getting the threads made. Since I don't often play in the forums where would you suggest a rifts game Muse I know you have more experience forums wise on E.

I'll also start adding other players once they post character concepts In here or in PM.

I've played a Hatchling before, and they survive decently well but can't actually DO huge amounts of stuff in crazy varieties.

Anyway, I'll write up the concept and all for a mercenary-attitude (but not evil) Shifter at work today. Might get the stats done too, depending on how busy things are.

Yep I have you listed as a catseye Dragon. That leaves one slot open though we have two more people with interest so I may make it a six player group.

That way there is a bit of just about everything.

I will be making the lists for Character Sheets/ ooc talk (same topic; just makes sense to me.) and the actual in game thread.
