Sweden just won the European Song Contest with a landslide.

I like that Norway was completely and utterly humiliated. Not that Sweden deserved to win, either, mind. But I guess "forgettable" is better than "terrible", so in that sense it was well-deserved.

I'd hoped Finland would win. Finland had the only entry I actually liked.

But, ahh, I'm not here to rain on anyone's parade, so congratulations all the same.

Meh, don't mention it.  Happy to help

Spain deserved much more but oh well, I guess the actual techno-dance tendency made it all easy for Sweden.

At least, beyond Albania, there were no really painful moments. :P

Well, Eurovision has never been the place of groundbreaking musical jumps into the future - the show and visuals sometimes outdo the music (it's been a while since I saw such a rich light and video show in a concert as last night).

I liked the Russian contender, but musically Russia should send this band to compete some day.

Yat-Kha - Eki Attar

Tribal throat vocals work excellently for thrash metal! (and it's not simply some gimmick, the entire album this is from mixes eastern Siberian folk music and blues/hard rock into a seamless unity)
