Hey hey I know I have a normal high school rp going on right now but for those who want something different, then look no further, I need people looking to attend Yokai Academy. Now i want people to know that yes you will be able to play humans and I have set up a whole stats system. So whos interested?

Alright I know most people wont a descriptive Intro so here it is.

Welcome to Yokai Academy where monsters of all kinds and shapes come to learn how to blend in with human culture. However due to recent events Humans are allowed to attend this school. But no matter the species, we will ensure the safety and knowledge the students desire. So welcome to Yokai Academy and we hope to see you there.

This game will run by a S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats system, and will have traits and perks, seeing how combat is inevitable. I will serve as the GM and I will send out several scenarios at your characters, how they react is entirely up to you. Non-combat roles will essentially be treated as most basic characters, [meaning nothing extraordinary will happen to you, and you will have no weaknesses, but no strengths either] While combat roles that are more involved will be tried and tested under scenarios and gain bonuses and special perks. And because combat will be involved I will introduce a leveling system. Gain enough and gain a level, reach a high enough level you gain a extra perk. Mind you Leveling will be hard and I will give out EXP as I see fit. So say you took out a group of Tropical Mermaids with your bare hands, I may give you 50 EXP, and it will take 1000 EXP to level up. Im thinking the level cap will be around 20 to prevent god characters from doing whatever they want. Also there will be no skills, because we dont have time. I will make the call if whatever your attempting will succeed or fail. And on the occasion that im gone and you want to progress please be reasonable, If I come back and read and find bullshit calls I will make that player pay for it. Be it a stat reducing illness, or a loss of a perk, or even a very difficult event. Ill have all the details up later.

Okay the Special Stats goes like this

Strength
Perception
Endurance
Charisma
Intelligence
Agility
Luck

All will be at 5 unless your human, then its reduced to 3. 5 being the average. You will have 5 points to spend in any stat you want, and you are allowed to deduct, points from your other stats. essentailly you have 33 points to spend if all your stats are reduced to 1 witch is the minimum.

Ok, I would be interested to play human. So are we humans at default taken as non-combative chars, at least in beginning?

I've got an idea for a "Mage-bred" human (IE one parent is a witch while the other is human)

You chose to be combat or non combat at the very beginning, you cannot switch out. And A mage breed is still a witch despite the fact that a human is a parent.

So question is; can humans even compare to be combat able when measured vs monsters?

But I guess that's for the perks are and other bonuses which may apply.

now the question is which Yokai types are off limits?

I dont know what Yokai types are and humans can compare, they just are weaker due to them being human. But if you take the Monster Hunter perk the base stats will raise from 3 to 5. Seeing as monster hunters are capable of taking on monsters however you can only take this perk once and only humans can take it. Also it counts as your extra perk.

Ok, I take monster hunter perk. I am thinking my char's ancestor was Abraham van Helsing, a vatican trained and licensed witch/monster hunter. Overall however since change in politics in monster world the family has not hunted down monster for a one generation at least but they have kept their family traditional skills sharp.

So as part of the initiative to breach peacefully human world and monster world together they send their son into the academy who has been trained by family standards to combat monsters since age of three and taught the monster lore. Naturally he is under strict orders by both parents and school principle to avoid figthing much as he can (he can fight only in self-defense). Also he would keep his last name a secret in general introductions as it would be same as declaring he is from family of serial killers (in monsters point of view). A family which would make most monsters crap bricks out of dread (including vampires). So he has alias last name very least.

But in general it's mystery how come van Helsing family members are that powerful against monsters, as they are capable to superhuman level feats of prowess but they do not have blood of monsters in them....but then again origins of first van Helsing are clouded in mystery as well.

Biography: Jaiden is heir of van Helsing family, since ancient vatican times from 1600 century van Helsing family has got single duty above all others; monster hunting. It was Professor Abraham van Helsing who slayed Dracula, infamous vampire which marked permanently van Helsing family into hall of fame and dreadful name among monsters. But that happened in near start of 1900 century and before that family had got three centuries worth of monster hunting already under their belts but none monsters were famous as Dracula.

None the less, family tree is vast and deep, spreading across the Europe and any meaningful traces end at start of Roman empire where origins go much more murky. But even in Roman times van Helsing (it was not same family name ofc) family had been mystics, scholars and brave men of lore who questioned existence or more exact nature of supernatural entities like gods, spirits and ghosts in philosophical point of view (hinting potential Greek ancestry). But actual active monster hunting started around 1631 with slaying of pack of werewolves in German backcountry. Despite the family is widespread only the narrow core, a direct eldest son and daughter have passed on lore and duty of monster hunting and have been trained for said art minus few expections where younger relative or even cousin has picked the duty in unexpected demise before heir had been birthed to continue the lineage.

Truth told the most rest family is not even aware of existence of monsters and it is meant as form of protection from relatives of the sad and ancient horrifying truth. None the less van Helsing is very old family and known long time among monster society and pretty much feared. However since his parents time there has been dramatic drop entirety in monster attacks among mortals since then and they figured monsters are now actually seeking to adapt into normal human society instead prey and resent it. Van Helsing family was one less known (actually a secret) sponsors for yokai academy, as Jaiden's parents wished that someday monsters can live among humans peacefully and there being no need for their kind of families existing at all.

However the process is slow and all monsters do not adapt as fast so they have continued the tradition but with one added extra lesson to their younglings. Jaiden has been trained to arts of monster hunting since age of three and where other teenagers partied he practiced accuracy with crossbow, knives, swordplay and trained his body to match most monsters speed and power and most of all; know their weaknesses out of memory and their history. But when high school ended and was time to choose academy, he was assigned for yokai academy as part of human initiative program. Basically add small number of humans to the academy as a test to see can monsters live truly alongside with human roommates without a fuss and is harmony even possible first place and can humans learn accept monsters as people than freaks?

Jaiden however knows how much bad blood van Helsing name bears so he signed in with false last name so he can partake in this experiment without causing uproar in young monster student population (and reduce dread what they would feel or outright panic). All monster hunter backgrounded families who send their kids in do the same. As most of all monster hunter families want peace and they want prove they can forsake their ancient enmity and the monsters do not need fear from the families striking them down when they try blend in and adapt. What comes to Jaiden himself he is neutral about monsters in general as there is no personal tragedy nor much personal experience besides all teaching he went through learn about them. But he holds sense of pride for his skills and that if monsters would stare down on him for being weak his ego may lead him to show off his combat training if provoked in such way despite his parents forbidding using family techniques onto fellow students who most are much more helpless than hardcore combat experienced monsters.

Bio: Raizen came to Yokai Academy when he reached the age of 51, assuming the form of a 16 year old human for the sake of the rules. He didn't quite reach the "gold" standard his parents set; being a little too aggressive at times and too willing to fight. Chalking it up to simply being youthful, they sent him to the school to "polish" those edges off. He is extremely powerful in any form but retains his spellcasting and breath weapons only in his natural or hybrid forms.
