For those familiar with Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson book series, this game is based off the other camp that very little information is known. For those who do not know about the series but are still interested. The Greek/Roman gods are very real and love to make babies with the mortal women on earth which result in demigods offspring. Demigods have molded history from Achilles to George Washington (Demigods).

(Roman) Camp Half-Blood will not follow the book series (Alternate Universe). Very little is known about the Roman Camp since Rick Riordan's second book in the Lost Heros Saga (Son of Neptune) will not be out till this October and we are not sure just how much information he will give on this new camp.

This leaves some creative leeway when making the game, but their are some set "Game" rules.
1. The Roman camp is not for the weak.
2. The Lupa, director of the camp raises the campers from age 2 and will not think twice about letting a child die if it is not strong enough.
3. The camp is located somewhere in the Bay Area.
4. The Roman versions of the Greek Pantheon are the parents, they are more warlike, disciplined and formal.
5. The Roman and Greek camps have been kept secret about one another after the Demigod Civil war which occurred around the time of the US Civil War.
6. All women are required to pose nude if asked

Despite the set rule that all Roman Demigods are hand raised from age 2 by the Lupa herself, I will be allowing for unclaimed demigods to come to the camp (As long as their parent is the Roman counterpart). I am looking at having a balanced amount of players. Established/Claimed Demigods and new Demigods.

As for the plot, I am looking to keep it free form and would like to find one or two people to help me GM the game plot and gamewise.

Sidenote- I am not looking into making this game revolve specifically around sex, it can happen between the campers but if any future character is simply coming into the game for that purpose only they will be kicked from the game. I am setting the age limit from 16-22, I don't want any Pornstar, bondage masters in this game.

/discuss!

We have reached out own subsection in record time I believe! Opening recruitment for claimed "Established" demigods.

A claimed demigod is a child who was taken to the Lupa at age 2 and raised by her, trained by Achilles and Bremusa their entire lives. New players do not need to worry about fitting in, all our writers are friendly and eager to interact with more demigods.

Currently we are entering plot arcs that requires more activity in camp and out in quests.

The available godly parents are the following:

Mars:
Venus:
Vulcan:
Minerva:
Mercury:
Apollo:
Diana:
Ceres:
Discordia:
Mors:
Proserpina:
Bacchus:
Janus:
Iris:
Somnos:
Trivia:
Juvantas:
Somnia:
Fortuna:
Flora:

Other minor gods are allowed but, must be approved by myself or Kendra beforehand.

If you are thinking of joining, Please PM myself AND Kendra so we can answer any questions before you start working on a character.

You already know you have my interest.  How do you see campers staying there? Same as Percy camp? Intro'd the same or are all of them raised there since birth/two ? Ideas on a basic character sheet yet?

Awww no Norse Pantheon camp?  ;)
Unfortunately not, I know he has an Egyptian Pantheon based book series also. I would not doubt it if he eventually did go Norse.

I'm interested in this!

Alright, I'll send you a tell when we get to the character creation stuff.

I want to have a combination of the two. The story itself will start with the Roman Camp not seeing any new demigods in the past fifteen or so years. When this game starts off, I am looking to include the starting cast of new players to the camp.

So I am hoping to have established characters who live at he camp/return every summer and a bunch of unclaimed faces.

Sounds good, but who will be running the camp? GM?

The camp is run by the Lupa, the camp director. I am hoping to find someone willing to work with me and play her roll if not I will play her as an NPC. The Lupa is a very important and despite how "cruel" she can be, is a big mother figure in the lives of the demgods.

I'd be interested in the Lupa character, but unfortuantley I haven't read the books AT ALL. Would this be a problem?

Not at all, most of the information on the Roman camp won't be out till October and future books. What is known, is that being a Roman Demigod is much harder than a Greek one. Here is what is known about the Lupa. Most of the setting will be put together by me since we do not have as much information as we do about the Greek camp. I am picturing this place much more boot camp/summer camp hybrid but still gives the kids enough activities to have fun.

bubby

Well color me interested then! Am I assuming correctly that Lupa has -only- the wolf form, albeit a very large wolf? When speaking, is it mind to mind, or from her jaws?

Caela

Definitely interested!  What sort of powers would the campers be allowed to get from their godly parents? And are you looking at only the major deities being parents or some of the minor god/desses as well?

I haven't read the books either bubby but crawled through the wiki on my wee break today, the Lupa it seems takes the wolf form for the majority of the time but she does have a human form which is simply described as being really tall.

Kendra, thanks! That was very helpful. Am thinking along the lines of making a daughter of Diana or Minerva when Aiden starts taking character sheets.

Kendra addressed this already, but regarding the speaking. She speaks from her jaws, if she moves them while speaking is up to you. Her human form is up to you, but she is more comfortable in her wolf form but does shift into human form to direct activities and camper duties if she wishes, no one in their right mind will talk back to the woman who pratically raised them.

Kendra has offered her services to help with the plot line/quest and if we ever make it to big game status will be one of the GM's. Thanks Kendra.

I posted a template on the first post, so people can start working on them. Please post them in this thread, once approved I will let you post it in the thread I created.

I only have the powers for the main ones but if there is one specifically you want to have I can make up the demigod portfolio for them and add it.

I think with Diana/Artemis since she is a virgin goddess, like Hera they have no children. BUT with Diana, other demigods can join her ranks, in the Greek camp they have the hunters of Artemis.
http://camphalfblood.wikia.com/wiki/Hunter
So eventually if you wish to follow the path of the Hunter you can.

Caela

Cool cool...just might go that route. Thanks for the info. :D

ETA: After reading the wiki, I think perhaps not lol. Don't think I could write a character that completely turned her back "on the company of men".

In Game NPC (Mostly)

Name: Trevor Masterarm
God or Goddess Parent: Vulcan
Claimed or Unclaimed: Claimed, Leader of the Vulcan Cabin
Age: 19
Any Background Info: Trevor has a brother he does not remember. When he was two and his brother, Vincent, was three they where taken on a camping trip by their mother. She cried the entire way there and as they walked towards a big house he came face to face with a large wolf. The wolf seemed to have said something to her mother which had her scoop up both her children and run away. Something was said that endangered one of the boys and in the commotion young Trevor broke his leg. Last he remembered of his mother was seeing her cry before she was killed by a creature and a pain in his leg as he was dragged to safety. The memories became nightmares as the young man was raised by Lupa herself for all of his life. He has been at the camp since that age and was claimed at the age of six by his father. Sadly his left leg never properly healed which has forced him to use a leg brace form a young age. His disability is a constant reminder that he is not perfect and sometimes feels he did not belong until he earned the respect of his fellow campers only because of his ability in a forge with a blacksmith hammer.
Fatal Flaw: Nightmares, Amnesia, partial disability in his left leg.
Weapon or Skill: Master Craftsman/Technician
Physical Description: (See pic)
Extra info- will help me develop quest/ideas for the game.
Future Goals None, sees the Roman Camp as his home.
Fears Is afraid of the nightmares he recalls, a sense of abandonment followed by utter terror and loneliness.
Likes Italian food, slurpees (made his own machine)
Dislikes Fish, cold chilly weather, fog- reminds him of the mist in his nightmares.

Name: Achilles
Title Trainer of Heroes for the Roman Camp
God or Goddess Parent: N/a
Age: Unknown/Immortal
Any Background Info:Achilles was the son of the nymph Thetis and Peleus, the king of the Myrmidons. Zeus and Poseidon had been rivals for the hand of Thetis until Prometheus, the fire-bringer, warned Zeus of a prophecy that Thetis would bear a son greater than his father. For this reason, the two gods withdrew their pursuit, and had her wed Peleus. When Achilles was born, Thetis tried to make him immortal by dipping him in the River Styx. However, he was left vulnerable at the part of the body she held him above the water by, his heel. Peleus entrusted Achilles to Chiron the Centaur, on Mt. Pelion, to be raised and trained.

Achilles was one of the many heroes recruited by Agamemmon and Menelaus on their expedition of the conquest to Troy. At first he refused, but after lengthy convincing he agreed. When they finally reached Troy he fought well, but after 3 or 5 years, he got into an argument with Agamennon and he refused to fight. His best friend Patrocules took his armor and with his leadership he moved the Trojans back, but alas, their success did not last, and Patrocules was slain by the great Hector, the hero of the Trojan army. In a frenzy of grief, Achilles nearly committed suicide, if not for his faithful companions who held him back. His mother Thetis then brought him new armor, and he forgave Agammenon.

Enraged, Achilles brought down his wrath on the Trojan army, creating carnage among the Trojans. He filled up a river so full of bodies that it overflowed. But Achilles wanted one death - Hector's death. As the Trojans ran madly for the city Hector bravely stood to face Achilles. Achilles cackled insanely and they had a magnificent fight. But only Achilles came back to the Greek camp. He would not live for much longer, for an Oracle had predicted if he slew Hector, he would die soon after. Sure enough as Paris, the abductor of Helen, came to the field when he shot an arrow at Achilles, and guided by Apollo, Achilles met his death.
Fatal Flaw: N/A- Remains immortal as long as he trains the demigods of the camp
Weapon or Skill: Sword and Shield, Combat master/trainer.
Physical Description: (See pic)
Dislikes The Children of Apollo

Caela

Name: Sofiya Mykula
God or Goddess Parent: Minerva
Claimed or Unclaimed: Claimed
Age: 17
Any Background Info: A claimed child, one of Minerva's servants brought Sofiya to the Lupa when she reached 2 years of age. The camp has been her home ever since, she knows no other life the strict and constant training of the camp and, almost, scorns those that only show up a season at a time and return to their "normal" families thinking they miss out on skills and training that could be more useful than anything outside the camp and never considering that she might have been missing out on something herself.
Fatal Flaw: Inexperience, pride, lack of skill with a sword (if you want a physical type of flaw I can make one, went more with emotional and training flaws)
Weapon or Skill: Her greatest weapon is a bow, there's nothing she can't hit with one, and shooting seems as natural to her as breathing. Up close she prefers a quarter staff and is passable with a sword but the sword is not a natural weapon for her and she has to practice extra hours with it to maintain the skill level the Lupa demands, hand to hand she is strong focused, using her slighter size and dexterity to stay out of her opponents way until she finds the opening she needs to bring them down.
Physical Description:
      Height: 5'5
      Weight: 125
Extra info- will help me develop quest/ideas for the game.
Future Goals She would like to attend university at some point and study the human version of philosophy as well as ancient Greek and Roman literature. After that she wants to return to the Camp as one of the trainers herself.
Fears The dark in the city, snakes (she knows it's silly, they still scare her), those better with a sword than she is.
LikesThe dark in the forest, hunting birds, planning strategies, seeing a plan fall into place, weaving (on an old shuttle and loom), pottery, learning new skills and arts.
DislikesDishonesty, tardiness, lack of honor, cities, zoos (the only reason to trap an animal is because you're hunting it!), people making assumptions about her just because of who her mother is.

***I made her on the younger end so she's going to have some rough edges and see things a bit black/white. She'll have some growing up to do hehehe.

JDrew Spider

Name: Sonya St. Croix
God or Goddess Parent:Neptune
Claimed or Unclaimed: Unclaimed
Age: 18
Any Background Info: She is the daughter of a french ambassador and The god of the seas. Unclaimed by her father it wasn't later revealed by her mother of divine heritage. Her mother had been against her seeking out answers from her father , but Sonya never took no for answer. She was later recruited into the camp by the Lupa to better understand her abilities and to gain knowledge about her heritage. She had a hard time believing there were ever such a thing as gods and monsters and all that, but she soon became a believer. The Lupa would always refer to her, by her eyes as proof of being a child of the water god. For the longest she wore contacts to hide the blue glow of her bright orbs, believing they made her look freakish.
Fatal Flaw: Like any unclaimed child she wants to know her father and be acknowledge by him, by any means necessary. She's also very head strong and will rush into a situation without thinking. Her unbalanced emotional nature inhibits her ability to use her powers effectively.
Weapon or Skill: Metal Sais she uses in combat, she's quite good with them.
Physical Description: 5'7, 130lbs and tattoo of a fish on her upper  back.
Extra info-  She wants to get back at her father.
Future Goals Claimed by her father on Olympus and ultimate control of her powers.
Fears She really hates spiders and things that creep.
Likes Food, working out, swimming and dancing.
Dislikes Really bad movies, chick flicks, guys that think they are the best thing since Narcissus discovered himself. Daughters of Aphrodite. Weakness, cheaters and gorgons.

Name: Anduin Espada
God or Goddess Parent: Mars
Claimed or Unclaimed: Unclaimed
Age: 18
Any Background Info: Anduin was born to a service committed mother in the United States Navy. With no father to raise him and a mother who rarely had a chance to see him, he grew attached to his nanny Penelope, a Costa Rican family member on his mother's side. Anduin saw most of the world through navy ports, spending time with his mother whenever she was allowed on leave. The relationship was distant, the only thing keeping them unified was the absence of his father. Anduin suffered greatly in school until age ten when they where stationed in Rome for a full four year term. His dyslexia seemed non existent when he read in Latin and soon most of his education was through Latin teachers and tutors. In his time in Rome he learned of the heroes, the gods and became a fan of the history he seemed to gravitate towards. When they where forced to move again he asked his mother to make his new tutor (a fawn in disguise) his guardian while she was away and she eventually agreed.

The last four years of his life went well until his seventeenth birthday when his tutor gave to him a sword and spear and warned him that he would need it one day and to find his kind. The next day the man vanished, the only father figure in his life and he was left alone. The attack came out of nowhere, things from his books attacked him but the young demigod could only run. With his mother out of reach out to the ocean again he was forced to flee. With no one to help him, he traveled by day and night following his gut instinct hoping to find his way in the world. He was attacked in broad daylight be creatures, each time evading them or fighting them off as he traveled all along the United States until he arrived in San Fransicio where he felt himself being pulled towards a direction, if he could get past his last obstacle...

Fatal Flaw: Weak resistance for power, Hubris.
Weapon or Skill: Spear, sword and shield
Physical Description: Athletically cut and in shape, tall standing at 6'1 with a wide proud frame.
Extra info- will help me develop quest/ideas for the game.
Future Goals Swim in the River Sytx
Fears Growing old, dying a decrepit old man
Likes Full contact sports, MMA, hitting the gym, Heavy metal/Thrash metal
Dislikes Over eating, lazy people
Notes - Will be a fresh arrival at the camp.

Kendra

Name: Kallum Broadbent
God or Goddess Parent: Jupiter - Leader of the Jupiter Cabin
Claimed or Unclaimed: claimed
Age: 18

Any Background Info: It is said that there are many children fathered by Jupiter about the world, that his eye for human females is legendary. So it was in the instance of Alice Broadbent, a librarian of antiquities at the Smithsonian Museum. Posing as a historian he wooed her, Alice being a beautiful woman though very intelligent had grown accustomed to men feeling intimidated by her and found this tall devastatingly handsome man a breath of fresh air. She fell in love and it seemed indeed as if Jupiter had done so ... again. No sooner did he discover her to be pregnant however than he left. In his stead however a neighbour became Alice's best friend, slowly telling her over time who her lover had been and how very special the child within her would be. Her intelligence and common sense dictated that she not believe a word of it but as the baby moved within her she felt herself believing.

The neighbour Craig Burrows was in actual fact a fawn, sworn to take care of the baby and Alice until Jupiter could return. He did on the childs second birthday, relaying then what he expected for his son and explaining in detail all about the camp and what could happen to Kallum if he were left in the mortal world without necessary training. Alice hesitantly conceded, terrified that her son would not get through the meeting with Lupa but she was fortunate in that Lupa warmed to him instantly. The child was strong and willful, determined even at that young age to be the best he could be. A trait that would stay with him.

Proud and arrogant, Kallum still manages to be well liked about the camp. He has spent every year of his life there, returning home on vacations up until he turned fourteen when his mother was tragically killed, he was never aprized of the particulars but felt keenly that it was no accident. He stays now permanently with the only other mother he has ever known Lupa, helping other long term demigods at the camp to train and fight. He has earned himself the right to be Leader of Jupiters cabin, he runs a tight ship and brokers no fools or any weakness.

Fatal Flaw/s: Volatile - quick to anger / rage ~ seen as a state from his fathers powers
Stubborn - believes his way is the right way, takes direction only from Lupa (and others older and in authority though begrudingly)
                                               - Not from other campers.

Weapon or Skill:
Strong leadership skills
Gladius and pugio (gifts from his father)
Both the pugio and gladius can transform into bolts of lightening, the dagger changing to a smaller sized bolt dealing nothing more than sharp sting. The sword changes into a larger bolt and deals a lethal blast, both return to him on command changing back into a gladius and pugio once in contact with his hand.
Able to harness the forces of the atmosphere - mainly lightening and wind
ADHD - heightened alertness
Dyslexia - hard wired for reading ancient Latin

Physical Description: Fit, 6'3", sallow skin, brown hair and hazel eyes.

Extra info - will help me develop quest/ideas for the game.
Future Goals: to have his cabin be the best at the camp
Fears: showing any weakness; that he will not match up to his father
Likes: combat training, pizza
Dislikes: alcohol, his father, weakness in any one, any one mentioning his mother.
