Just to demonstrate the mandate was a GOP aka Republican idea that was added to the legislation so why are they now bitching at the responsibility being placed on the citizen now, and a logical extension to businesses who employ workers. They have Workers Comp and I could see that abolished for using that for a Medical Plan it would take just a legal change.

They're bitching because they don't want all those voters who were whipped into a frenzy mad at them.  How many Republicans have been quoted as saying they wanted Obama to fail?  They want this all on him and the Democrats.

I wanted to bring up a related defense of the bill we long ago agreed on this as the statement of the UN as a body to the status of various human rights please read the Wiki page a bit.

I will note although not a convention it holds the force of customary international law (common law) that can be considered in various international matters. So is not a small matter to consider to me.

I will note that we in the United States and many nations with citizens here agreed that Health Care that is adequete is one fundamental right of a person in a nation. With other things like housing, food, education, freedoms of conscience, rights to rest, right to be free from discrimination and the like.

So can't we just state that this law is now bringing us into alignment with one fundamental right we said was one decades ago?
