Was wondering... Arander, how's the reporter gig going?

Dropped it actually. I don't really have the reporter mentality or that journalist instinct. I'm working at a fairly upscale resturant now as a bartender. Pay is fairly decent plus we get tips so its not too bad a gig.

Whoa, I finally got a good taste of SL last night.  My DSL got reconnected (long story), so I decided to get the game an honest shot.  Man, I had a great time.  I figured out how to use the Map and Search features, and ended up at this nice club called "The Oceanside".  They were having a Singles Nite advertised on the map, so I swung by to check it out.  It was very impressive and very fun.  I met a few people, socialized a ton, and eventually started club-hopping with a few girls.
  I found a pretty raunchy club called "The Edge" that was having "Naked Night", so I had the chance to see nudity on SL in its full splendor.  I gotta say, I don't really see how any game can top Second Life in terms of visual quality and potential for animations (I saw quite a few that were very....interesting).  They knocked it out of the park with the ability for players to add stuff to the game.
  I eventually ended up at a Latin club where the DJ was streaming some VERY nice, quality salsa and latin jazz.  This was genuine stuff...not the mainstream crap that typical clubs play.  I was listenning to music that my grandfather used to play, which is some very good music.  I was really in awe...the place had great decorations, and some very good salsa dancing animation balls.

  Tonight I'm gonna go buy me some L$ and go shopping.  I need a penis, some new hair, a good skin (I have no nipples!), and some nice clothes, plus whatever toys I end up finding as I shop.  I'm considering a career in t-shirt design, or as a flare bartender...depending on how good I can get with the game's tools, and how much I want to end up investing into the game.  I really enjoy socializing so far, and the game so far has played out like a giant experiment in culture.

I seem to have fullen into hapless surf bum drifter mode. Though I do ocassionally throw on some club clothes and hang out at Hot Licks. Still gotta get off my ass and see about a part time DJing gig, maybe do some freelancing. Problem is I don't want to fork out the real dollas for my own stream, knowing that about half my life for the next five or six months is going to be spent at sea.

Oh, and I'm crazy, bitch, but I fuck so good I get escorts for free... well one...  ;D

I gave the job thing a shot, and it didn't work out.  I budget $50 a month for video games (which amounts to a game a month, or 2 bargain bin games), so I took that cash and got myself a premium account, plus a good chunk of Lindens.  I got the premium to see if there was any difference to the game, but there really isn't.  I doubt I'll buy land because I'm way more into the social/casual aspect of SL than the money-making side, so I'm just going to let the premium expire at the end of the month.  I got a L$1000 bonus and there'll be another L$1200 comming in stipends over the next 30 days, so my $10 aren't completely wasted.


In regards to the RP deal, I've found a good number of people who are into roleplaying.  I bought all the requisite naughty bits...in fact, I bought some pretty high-class, super-animated ones...but I've barely used them in a function greater than simple messing around.  Any adult interaction I've encountered so far has come in the form of roleplaying and actual writing...similar to E, but at a much, much faster pace.

Anyone here still active on SL?

I'm actually getting a bit bored of SL...there really isn't a lot of "depth" to the game, IMO.  The roleplaying I've found is either a bad cover-up for cybersex, or a bad cover-up for bad cybersex.  Finding people to connect with intellectually has been a problem...I'm really not into immaturity or "silly" play.  I've got a circle of friends, they're cool and all, but I'm like the esoteric pervert of the bunch.  Would be nice to hook up with some of you E folks if you're ever on.

Hmm... to be honest, I never really could get into all of this and eventually just brushed it off as just another attempt to get people's money... but seeing this ( ;) ), and hearing more about it on the news as well, and even dutch radio programs being hosted from SL, I get more curious again.. maybe I should give it a try after all...

Alright, for a year now, I have been trying to get into Second Life.  First my connection was too slow and now it crashes every time I try to log on.  New computer, high speed connection...  So I tried to log in and get help but every time I do, I am told that system is down.  So I tried to go to my account, and now it tells me that my character does not exist.  I am about to say screw the whole thing.  Anyone have any suggestions?

i tried second life just once when there was this I Am Legend game to promote the movie. But i just didn't like second life, just wasn't my thing. but im glad to see some of you enjoy it.

I am though amazed on how much stuff there is in second life, it's just huge.
