Villain

Looking for people to try out an idea for a role-play game inspired by the league of extraordinary gentlemen. It's a little tricky to explain but here it is:

The Fictional's
In a perfectly normal school there exists a book club that has very few members. It's not because the clubs unpopular, it's because it's a secret club that has very special members. The truth is that every member of the book club possesses strange abilities that are coincidently the same as heroes from books. Are they incarnations of the characters? Have they come from another world? Is there a paranormal explanation? None of them know, but what they do know is that if there are heroes then there will be villains as well and it's their responsibility to stop them.

Players are required to create a character based on a famous fictional character. The character will be oblivious to what they really are and will be enlightened by my character before we go on to an adventure. If you are interested but a little unsure of what this game is about please do send me a message.

Below is an example of a character sheet for this game and is the character's I'll be playing.
Player Name: Villain
Name: Alistair Croft
Age: 16
Fictional Counter Part: Sherlock Holmes
Physical Description: Messy dark hair and pale skin with piercing hazel eyes. Tall and thin with sharp distinctive features. He usually wears a dark grey vest with a light brown coat. Despite being sixteen his choice of fashion does make him look a couple of years older than he actually is.
History:
Alistair spent most of his years in Hardvale boarding school that his step father sent him away to. His step father had said it was because Alistair needed to be smarter and make something of himself, but Alistair knew that the real reason was because his step father didn't like the idea that Alistair was smarter than he was. Eventually Alistair began to realise that he wasn't just smarter than his step father, he was smarter than everyone at his boarding school. By just observing a student’s uniform he would be able to tell almost exactly where the student had been what they had been doing even if he had only met him that day. His accurate deductions quickly led to Alistair becoming a dark legend of the school and soon he found himself being transferred from the strict education of Hardvale to a more comfortable normal school where he encountered Lulu Carol, a person who would broaden his view of the world tremendously.
Personality:
Alistair is a friendly young man with excellent manners; the problem is that his ego is out of control. When Al realised that he held abilities that normal people could not out match he instantly decided to make it his business to show off as much as humanly possible. Needless to say he is very unpopular with the other kids and although he means well he can’t help but offend people by going and making grand accusations due to his almost perfect ability of deduction.
Abilities:

  • Criminal Intelligence: Although young Alistair has a firm understanding of the psychology of crime
  • Deduction: Has extraordinary powers of deduction just like his fictional counterpart, unfortunately due to his age his deductions are only 70% accurate
  • Power of Disguise: Able to create elaborate disguise's when given the right resources

Name: Lulu Carol
Age: 16
Fictional Counter Part: Alice from Alice in Wonderland
Physical Description:
Short with curly light blonde hair and pale blue eyes, usually wears jackets and dresses in odd mismatching colours that have extraordinary amounts of pockets and an extraordinary amount of patches sewn onto them. She always carries a bag with her that has a large amount of assorted badges and pins covering the front of it.
History:
Since Lulu was little she has always been under the thumb of her over protective parents. When she was four years old Lulu went missing for a whole week and since then has always been monitored by her mother and father. Some would view this as unbearable but Lulu has never complained once, for although her parents may limit her freedom, they know nothing of the freedom she experiences when she crosses over to Wonderland. The magical place she had discovered at the foot of her garden accidently when she was a child. Since then she has kept her visits to the world short and secret, learning bits about the strange world and finding the links between her and the classic novel of Lewis Carol's; Alice in Wonderland. When entering her teen years Lulu eventually befriended the newly transferred Alistair Croft and quickly understood that he was like her; a weirdo with the powers of a book.
Personality:
Lulu is odd. A friendly young girl but she is very odd. Constantly day dreaming and always seeming to be staring into space during every conversation she has Lulu can’t help but give an impression that she’s not that right in the head. Not to mention she spends most days talking to bugs and animals that she finds around school.  Despite her oddness Lulu is a nice girl and can be very brave when faced with a dangerous situation, providing she’s focused and not staring into dream world.
Powers and Talents:

  • Magic of Wonderland: Lulu possesses a number of magical items that are found in Wonderland, such as food and drink which allows her to grow and shrink to various sizes. Unfortunately a lot of the items carry various side effects that can leave her vulnerable to attack.

Axenia

Sounds like it could be interesting, let me just warn you about a few things. First, I'm new in here and still have difficulties finding my way around this site. Second, English is not my primary language, by I speak and write it fairly well. But that means that my writing may not be as colorful as it would have been if I was writing in danish. With that been said I think it sounds like a great game, and I have an Idea for a character if you are interested. Write me if you are.

Villain

I have no problems with that at all :) Post a character sheet like I've done and then we'll begin.

If anyone else is interested in this idea please pm me

Axenia

History:
Casey never stayed in one place for very long, her father was in the military and besides accidents tended to happen whenever she was around. It had happened all her life, sometimes spontaneous fires would start when she was close by. Once a fire had broken out at her old school while some of the popular kids were taunting her. it had proved impossible for the firedepartment to kill the fire, after some time it had burned itself out. The school was destroyed, but luckily no one was hurt. Her family had packed all their belongings short after and they moved. That was when she had found out that she was the cause of the fires, but she didn't know what she had done to start them.
Casey is a very hot tempered girl, but she has a tendency to bottle it all up inside and never show emotions to other than the people close to her. She has difficulty trusting people, but will go to any length to save the people she cares about. She is brave but forgets to think before she acts.

SanguinePuppet

After all, her grandfather and her father had both been famous politicians in the area who carried a lot of respect and power and her mother came from a successful line of entrepreneurs and did not disappoint the family. However, her parents decided that being given her every desire, would not be the best way to raise a daughter. So her parents moved from the main city and left to your standard quiet town. They instilled values of honor and humbleness to their and it seems to have paid off. Emily took a love to the outdoors and prefers to spend her time in the woods. For a few years, she was even home-schooled because she wanted to spend as much time as possible in the woods. Though now, out of concern of their daughter's antisocial tendencies, they've enrolled her back in public school. To deal with the lack of wilderness in the classroom; Emily has taken to reading Greek myths and Epics; falling in love with the Gods and Demi-Gods that she so envied.
Personality:
Emily is shy amongst new people and is not exactly very good at voicing her opinions but once she gets to know someone, she easily opens up and becomes extrovert. She is humble, kind and polite but once angered; a fury of a storm. She has a nervous tic and often bites her nails whenever she's nervous. Due to her seclusion; Emily feels an extra closeness to nature and her inhabitants. This has led her to take an unusual fascination with snakes. Although a nature lover, Emily understands the need to hunt and gather and is well-versed in the arts as well as an expert survivalist.

Abilities:
Marksman: Armed with a bow and arrow; Emily has honed her skills with the bow to the level of an expert hunter.

An interesting character, I like the idea of a comic book incarnation. I've started a post for this one in the non-adult roleplay section of the board. The post starts with an introduction for the villain which our characters will encounter later on in the post before going on to a day at the school.

Very cool idea bringing Greek Fictional characters into it, I've started a post for you in the non-adult roleplay section of the forum here;

Nom De Plume

Player Name: Nom De Plume
Name: Evan T. Carwell
Age: 17
Fictional Counter Part: James Bolivar diGriz- The Stainless Steel Rat
Physical Description:
Describing Evan's physical conditioning is something of a brain teaser. I could tell you that by age 17, he was small- smaller than most of the boys in intensive fitness and track- but his muscles had taken all the rigidity and strength of steel rope. His skin is the color of sand, and coarse to the touch with bumps, bruises, badly set bones and scars. His hair shags down in a bronze hood over his head, hiding the young face in perpetual half-shadows. His lips, dimpled with old splits where a blow scored his face, are set in an almost perpetual shit-eating, "I know something you don't" smile. A slightly heavy brow sits over hooded, squinting eyes that shifts steadily under their lids. Hiding underneath are murky gray eyes.

History:
It was never hard to get by for Evan. Everything he ever wanted was laid out in front of him- even if a few social norms were treaded upon. So what if his friend got in trouble with his mom for stealing out of her purse... Even if it was Evan who did it. He got the lunch money he needed to eat today. Failed a test because he needed to go get his mom some booze at one in the morning, got caught and spent a sleepless night in prison? No problem. He'll sneak into the records department and change it to something more presentable.

Now, don't pin him for an outright crook because he looked after himself. He was also a fantastic athlete, and something of an unenthusiastic lady-killer. He was diligent, and didn't simply rely on his natural "talents" to get him through- much unlike some other screw-balls. But as time went on, he became increasingly mired in his activities. He wasn't only treading over norms; he was taking out toes, too.

Personality:
To call him flippant, narcissistic, self-confident to a fault; a two-faced, silver-tongued, devil of a child is to use all the insults that were on the school file for him- before it was stolen, of course. After the incident where copies of the file were sent through a school-wide e-mail, they added "mischievous," too. But, just like his past, his temperament seems two-sided. To his peers, he's an amicable person- and to the few friends, a loyal companion. His wits are sharp, and he has a talent for spinning a phrase just as well as a plan.

Abilities:

  • The Rat: Evan's ability to slip into- or out of- a building, a dead end or even a sticky situation in a hustle borders on the paranormal. If a crack presents itself, he'll be through before anyone ever sees him.
  • Steel Forgery: Evan doesn't need the permission of others; he just feels like getting it. He is capable of forgery to replicate contracts, approvals and grades, or altering them invisibly. Not even your identity is safe! His skill extends to mimicry and throwing of voice, as well as changing his likeness to mirror others.
  • Stainless-Fu: Okay, so sometimes he gets caught. Or almost caught. Most of the time it's not worth a scuffle over- it was part of the plan at least once before. But sometimes, Evan's fists need to do the talking for him. He focuses his energy on taking opponents down with as little energy and mess as possible. After all, he needs to act fast.

Just tell me if anything seems out of place.
