Microsoft word not working

On top of all the crap I've been dealing with as of late, not Micrsoft word won't work and neither will Steam so I can't get a hold of the ONE person I know who can help me and Steam as usual is of no help what so ever

It was working just fine last night and now it won't work at all. The little window that states Microsoft Word will come up and it will say starting and run for a few moments then close and state Microsoft 2010 can't open

For the love of everything unholy I can't get the blasted thing open and can't get Steam to connect at all so I can't get a hold of the one person I know who can help me
