Year 2205. In the Alliance of Galactic Colonies, on a planet named Marguerite, is a nation of redneck colonists. They are not as backwards as Earth rednecks and accept people of different colors, yet are still quite xenophobic towards people who come to the planet. It is not like anyone really wants to move to Marguerite anyways, especially after it banned artificial intelligences and mobile robots. Therefore you have a bunch of redneck cyborgs who enjoy shooting their inbuilt guns at stationary targets and driving huge vehicles.

Marguerite: A planet the size of Mars with mostly woodlands. The climate is humid and the temperature usually gets up to 90F. The winter goes down to 60F. The total planet population is around 125 million. Main industries are vehicle parts, weapons, marijuana, farming and sub-standard cybernetics.
Main town is Danton at a population of 25,000. Most settlements on the planet average around a population of 1,000. Current president is Mary Leonard Smith-Marques. The local accents range from a very comprehensible southern accent to a nearly incomprehensible mumbling (like Boomhauer on King of the Hill).

Setting: Town named Hillsvale. Pop. 1,700. Unemployment 5%. Ethnic makeup, 40% white (including hispanic), 20% black, 20% mixed and 20% Asian, 0% Aliens. Mayor: Vanessa Baudite Blanchefort. Local industries: Buffalo, marijuana, cybernetics, gun refurbishing. The town has a flair that is sort of a cross between Louisiana and Kentucky. Their biggest worries are tourists from off the planet that are commonly virtue-signalling rich kids or people "who want to help the poor" since Marguerite is listed as a third world planet with one of the lowest incomes in the galaxy (yet an equally low cost of living making 20,000 credits being a quite liveable income compared to other planets when the monthly rent is that high.
