PR2 Robot Fetches Beer from the Refrigerator

It's obviously quite slow - you can see the video is sped up by a factor of five - and a bit on the clumsy side. On top of it obviously being a demonstration case with all the shortcuts that entails. Still awesome. More on the PR2 Robot they used can be found here : )

I have never before used the trite phrase "DO WANT!!!", but a beer-delivering robot seems entirely appropriate for such an exclamation.

Even cooler would be a robot with a microbrewery inside of it that would then pour the processed beer out of its arm.

Now that I'd pay money for. Insert hops, barley & yeast, pour in a quantity of distilled water; wait a while; then when you're dry, whistle for a pour.

I personally think a Dr Pepper robot (which makes the lovely golden liquid rather than me having to walk to the shops *grin*) would be more worth the money... but then i'm not a fan of beer and have a small... small... addiction to the pepper.... *makes grabby hands*

Actually they have been working on self driving cars for some time.  I really don't feel like trying to look it up at the moment, but I believe it's GM that I know for sure was putting quite a bit of money, and secrecy, into the project.
