Writing is an emotional art

A cheeky wink
a tender caress
a tear to be shed
a smile to be had.

And indeed it is, when I set about to writing, as most probably do, I tend to pour a great deal of emotion in to the characters, whether is be a roleplay post or a short story.
If when someone has read what I have written they smile, want to shed a tear or just want to jump for joy, or even simply want to read more then I Know I've done something right.

If however it doesn't I want to know why, which is why feedback is so important.
If what I've written doesn't inspire you, if you don't get anything from it then do tell me, delete and edit buttons work wonders.

I've noticed that the best games/stories are the ones with which I can form some sort of emotional connection. Simply put, it's not enough for a story to get me hard. If that's all I wanted, there are dozens of porn sites out there. Elliquiy's stories provide a deeper connection to erotica and to story-telling in general, even nonsexual stories. I think that emotional (or depending on our tastes and mood, cerebral) connection is what draws a lot of us here.

I agree one hundred percent with Paradox and you.

I have come to realize the stories I love writing the most are the ones with which I have a connection to my writing partner. The play between those outside the scenes, the friendships and bonds, is what makes the story pop to me. It makes me delve deeper into it, pushing myself and my partner, and I love it very much.
