I want to create a smallish Star Wars based game.

A Jedi of the New Republic is sent on a diplomatic mission. Her destination is one of the rim worlds. Whilst on the surface, she uncovers a plot by the Imperial Remnant, aided by genetically created force users.

She manages to escape her foes, but needs passage off the planet as her own ship has been taken by the Imperials and they have their men looking for her.

She hires a merc and his crew to not only get her off the planet, but also out of the sector, which is controlled by the Imperial Remnant, who have several ships in orbit as well as countless others swarming all through the sector.

The story would focus on the efforts to get my Zeltronian Jedi back to the Core. Of course, things would go badly enough that it wouldn't turn out to be a straight-forward little endeavor.

I would play the Jedi Consular. I need a small group of players to provide the crew of the mercs she hires to help her.

I'm thinking a crew of 3-4 people. No more to keep it small and manageable.

Any archetype is fine, a non-exhaustive list:

The Captain
The pilot
The engineer/techie
The hacker
The soldier/brawler

Or anything else you think might fit.

The antagonists would not be PCs but GM-controlled NPCs. Though I might allow some players to also NPC their own baddies.

Express your interest here. If I get enough people on board, I will post up a character sheet template.

Character sheet template:

[float=right][/float]
Name:
Age:
Race: (what race does your character belong to? All SW races (including extended universe) are allowed
Role: (what role does your character have on the merc ship?)
Background: (a short bio for your character)

My character:

Name: Leysha
Age: 22
Race: Zeltronian
Role: The Jedi who hires the merc crew
Background: Leysha was born on Nar Shaddaa. Her father departed before she was born, but according to her mother he had been a small-time crook and smuggler with whom she had enjoyed a whirlwind romance. Leysha’s own mother had the beauty that was so common with her people. As such, for most of Leysha’s childhood her mom worked at various nightclubs as an exotic dancer, most of the clubs owned by Hutts. The small Zeltronian was spoilt rotten by the other women working at the club, though once Leysha understood the true nature of her mothers work, she grew more fearful. Thankfully, her mother was a woman who could take care of herself.

Leysha saw another path for herself, though she was not sure how to pursue it. She had always been different, even as a Zeltronian child on Nar Shaddaa. She was often plagued by weird visions and she had eerily accurate premonitions. She rarely confided in anyone about these strange occurrences.  At the age of 16, Leysha left Nar Shaddaa for Ylesia. There she found a job at a cantina in a small mining community, where she spurned the advances of many of the rowdier miners. An attempt by two of them to rape Leysha when she was 18 resulted in her killing one of them with the knife she had concealed on her body at all times and maiming the other. With the local Hutts not liking the fact that a fairly useless girl incapacitated two of their miners, a bounty was put on her name and she barely managed to slip away, successfully stowing away on a freighter that left the planet the very next day.

Through theft and subterfuge she managed to elude the Hutts and she bounced around from planet to planet for the next year. She settled on Corellia in 10 ABY, where she briefly lived together with a human male called Jubal Kalan. Their relationship was based on a strong physical attraction and not much more, but the man did give Leysha her first real home since leaving Nar Shaddaa at the age of sixteen. It was also whilst on Corellia that the next phase of her life would truly start.  A Jedi, a Bith who had been one of Luke’s first apprentices at his newly formed Jedi Academy, came to Corellia having heard rumors of another force adept living there. The man he had been looking for, a Zabrak, had since departed the planet, but when the Bith entered a cantina that Leysha was eating lunch at, he immediately sensed  her untrained abilities.

The Bith introduced himself as Doose Vanar, Jedi Knight. He had been a Dark Jedi prior to Luke Skywalker finding him and turning him back towards the Light. He had been tasked with finding Force Adepts throughout the Galaxy. Leysha was already quite a bit older than the age when Force Adepts began their Jedi training back in the old republic era, but Luke Skywalker was taking any potential student that he could. After a long talk with Doose, in which he managed to explain many of the weird visions she had experienced all through her life, she said her goodbyes to Jubal Kalan and joined Doose Vanar to the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin IV, where she was introduced to Luke Skywalker. Doose Vanar himself was chosen to become Leysha’s master. Their relationship was not always the easiest, as the passionate, extroverted and strong-willed Zeltron would often times clash with the Bith’s seemingly introverted and aloof manners. But he proved to be a good teacher nontheless, and within two years, Leysha passed her trials and became a Jedi Knight.

Leysha’s first mission as a Jedi Knight was a diplomatic one to Gall, one of Zhar’s moons. She was to represent the New Republic, putting out feelers for the potential of Gall joining the New Republic. What had appeared like a tedious assignment at first turned out to be anything but that, when Leysha’s spotted a large Imperial presence shortly after arriving, her situation further complicated by her own presence soon being detected by her enemies…

The Engineer sounds like just my type of character :D So you have my interest at least

KieraJade

Interested, interested....

Question though, because I'm curious: How do you see, if there is any, the sexual side of things being portrayed here?

RedEve

The sexual aspect of the game would be amongst the crewmembers. And the Jedi.

There will be opportunities for sexy time in between the dangerous moments.

The tension and dangers of the situation might even work as a catalyst to some couples/couplings.

I would make this plot-oriented, but smut will have a big place as well. Depending on individual preferences I would say the ratio will be somewhere in between 60-40 to 70-30. :)

The soldier/brawler would be a nice role for me.  Either that or the hacker.

KieraJade

Well if you decide to launch this little group - I'd love to be in! And play a female pilot.

Okay, since I have enough interested parties to potentially start this game, I will work on a CS and edit it into the opening post. :)

I'm really curious about this.  I've seen your writing on here over some time and would like to see what happens with an interesting story-- I've never done a Star Wars universe, though, so I would hope not to be dead weight.  I've seen a slew of people claiming roles, but if there's room I'd like to be considered for one, at least to apply.

I didn't see anyone mention a captain yet, and while I tend to like the stereotypical suface-tough, loves their crew, lovably-rakish type, I am also open to other roles as well-- such as a more alien role as a warlike soldier, a slightly more humorous, spunky hacker, or a cyborg engineer who is fascinated by the interactions of tech and flesh.

Please consider including me on future discussions.  Thanks!

I have included a character sheet template in the opening post.

People can now start creating characters and sending them to me via PM.

Please do not post them in this thread (not until I have approved of them, that is).

After seeing the new trailer, I need to scratch a star wars itch. I would like to indulge my muse and express interest, possibly as the ship's captain.

JackWhite

I'd say that I'm interested yet I'm afraid that I won't have enough time in the near future to check in. I will keep an eye on this one though.

Aiden

Name: Samson Shaw
Age: 42
Race: Mandalorian
Role: Captain and Semi-active Mandalorian Mercenary
Background: Samson spent the first part of his life serving under Tengo the Hutt, a mean crime boss on Nar Shadda. He was led to believe he was just another slave, serving the Hutt Mobster as an errand and package boy who was sold by his parents to settle a debt. Life was simple, Samson learned a lot by watching and hoping to rise up the criminal ranks.

The opportunity was lost as a group of Mandlorian mercenaries raided Tengo's casino and claimed revenge for their fallen brother. (Age 14) In the chaos, Samson was taken by them, as the group was pushed out (failed assassination attempt) and narrowly escaped the planet.

Samson learned the truth about his parents, the betrayal of Tengo and his relationship (uncle) to one of the mercenaries. He was the only son of Argus Shaw, a Mandalorian mercenary who was murdered while out on a job for Tengo. Samson was quickly adopted and accepted into the culture, taking what he had learned on Nar Shadda and his new training under his uncle. He was a little older than what was expected of Mandalorian children, but he was fully running missions with them by age 16.

Samson ran multiple jobs for the Empire and other bidders, his access and knowledge to Nar Shadda opened new jobs and contacts. In that years that followed he married, had a son and trained him before he set off on his own. His uncle was forced to retire and the rest of the group slowly did the same, many serving higher positions within their respective clans on their home planets. Samson continues to work now and then, even collected a crew for himself. His last big job was personal after he returned to Nar Shadda and killed Tengo for another Hutt who was more than willing to pay for it. Samson stole and kept Tengo's old Yacht, a Horizon Class yacht,The Rakish Rogue, a heavily modified craft that conceals its weapons and a single star fighter for shock and awe jobs or support when the job calls.

Aiden

Sorry for the triple post, but I was approved.

For anyone who joins, we can work a background on how, why the rest of the crew are together. I'm very open to connections/past history. Samson is very much an honorable rogue (Mandalorian honor, not some white knight honor code) with his eye on credits/financial gain.

He is semi-active, likes to do small side missions and enjoys hopping rim worlds or strolling through the seedy streets of Nar Shadda and other Hutt controlled planets.

#16
Name: Rama'vaet'izzeu aka Needles
Age: 23
Race: Chiss
Role: Soldier
Background:

The history of one Chiss cannot truly be told without a history of their family.  For Vaet of House Rama this is especially true as much of her present is drawn from the past of her family.  Once the House Rama, a vassal family of the Sabosen, developed a reputation of renown throughout the Chiss worlds for their powers of healing.  Masters of herbalism and in the arts of the body, they were said to be capable of stopping any illness short of death.   Entire tomes and libraries were filled the notes of their healers and apothecaries, centers for healing rising up wherever the family took root.  Such was their talent that their ascendancy to ruling house status took little time.  Yet that ascension would soon become their downfall.  A family of healers stood little chance against the games of the other House.  So the family turned to mercenaries for their protection.

Mercenaries proved useful, but only for a time.  The Rama family saw their coffers emptying as they tried to compete with the other families for prestige and rights.  Soon even the mercenaries smelled blood in the water with a few starting to rebel against their employers or push their way into the family rankings.  So the Rama used the only tool at their disposal, their mastery of life and death.  Turning their herbs and apothecaries against their enemies, the family proved a ruthless adversary.  First came the deaths of mercenary captains that refused to obey the family.  Those that did not die in what was known as The Purge, were brought into the family.  Military tradition married into healing families for an odd mixture.  On the surface such a marriage crafted peacekeeping forces that spread the healing arts toward the colony worlds where the Rama family strengthened their abilities.  In the shadows such a union crafted the Deathdealers, a military force that dealt poison and venom to the adversaries of the family.

The Rama family soon gained a reputation of compassion and fear as they soothed the pains of the sick, but could deliver painful death to their opponents.  Perhaps if their strength had lasted their House would have risen higher and beyond, but their fall came in spectacular fashion.  A rare moment of unity among the Ruling Families saw the Rama’s power slip away.  While their deadly nature grew and their fearful reputation protected them for a time, that fear turned into anger as the Houses descended on them in force.  The family was forced to turn all their holdings to the colony worlds of the Chiss, fleeing for their lives to the far edges of their outposts.  Such is the time when Vaet took her first breath in her mother’s arms, her father returning blaster fire against those that would see her line wiped out.  A life on the run unfolded before her even as she first opened her eyes.

Vaet’s parents attempted to grant her a standard lifestyle of study and rigor.  Discipline ruled her life alongside the uncertainty of battle.  From reading she learned the arts of herbalism and poisoning, from day to day life she learned to hide and fight.  The combination served her well when her family could no longer run but had to fight.  During the hail of blasters that followed, the child was gone and her parents were sent to the world beyond.  Nobody among the merchant vessel noticed the red eyes of the stowaway that now called their cargo compartment home.  Only when her destination came about did someone find her and from there her life descended into the criminal world.

Tengo Hutt was not kind to the young girl found hiding in the cargo hold.  He considered anything in the hold his property, including her.  At first her physical bearing and exotic appearance made her an ideal treat for the soldiers.  Only when the first lay convulsing on the bed, foam dripping from his mouth as he gurgled his final words another use was agreed on for the girl.  Early years of cartel life were spent mixing potent chemicals and poisons for Tengo.  Synethic drugs to addict the unwary.  Vaet conducted her business with cold detachment for the misery she caused, all the while perfecting the arts of battle her parents taught.  Life beneath the Hutts was never a luxury for her as she was considered little more than property.  Promotions followed as her tactical abilities were realized, but still she lived at the end of a short leash.

Vaet learned from history.  Like the Rama family, her Hutt master trusted too much in those not drawn to him by loyalty.   Time saw her become a valuable assassin for Tengo, a killer with little equal both from the shadows and in warfare.  Her commands were followed without question as she lead covert operations against other crime lords and her reputation became infamous as she could leave her opponents writhing in agony with a touch.  Needles she was called and was so feared.  All the while she watched her Hutt master for his weakness, using her fearful reputation to plant a push forward a need for his death.  Finally she caught word of a man coming for Tengo, a man that could bring the entire operation down with his blaster.

On the night that Samson came, Vaet shifted the guard.  A simple matter as she had the bulk of the detail move to engage a rebellion at the local factory.  She quelled the concerns by posting herself as his personal guardian.  When Samson came she was there, staring down his blaster.  She made sure to stand between them so that the Captain would know it was here wish as much as his desire that allowed what came next.  There was a sweetness in hearing the slug cry when she stepped back and into shadows, disappearing so that the Captain could finish his business.

Pumpkin Seeds

The end is left open in the hopes of making some joint adventures with others in the group before we embark on this journey.

I need to hear back from a potential player, but as of right now, it looks like the engineer slot might be taken too.

Hey Pumpkin!

So are you looking to be a main crew member starting off?

I left it vague in my bio, but Samson returned to Tengo's part of Nar Shadda and killed him as a revenge/job a few years back (vague for plot reasons).

It is during this time, she could have fought against Samson, maybe convince her to look the other way? Or maybe saw this as her chance to jump ship and join up with him? This way, we have an solid established crew going on.

We have a Coruscant pilot and another Mandalorian player. Working on background now, but integrating our histories will solidify them as a crew.

Pumpkin Seeds

I could see her allowing for the assassination of Tengo, at least that is how she would see his success there.  A shifting of the guards at his insistence of course so that Samson had a clear chance to get at the Hutt.  Then maybe she just showed up to come aboard his ship type situation.

Aiden

So Samson had his gun pointed at her and she basically had a choice to fight...or look the other way. She looks the other way.

In the battle, his ship was destroyed, but he did take the Hutt's Yacht, so maybe she offered air support? The Yacht has a star fighter, so I pictured a high speed air chase, out of the city until they hit orbit? She docks and later she sticks around?

Pumpkin Seeds

Could be fun.  I definitely want there to be an air of mystery as to way she made this choice.  Fitting for her race and style.

KieraJade

Our pilot was approved!!

Name: Todra Cole

Age: 30

Race: Corellian (human female)

Role: Pilot/Fighter pilot

Background: Born on the outskirts of Coronet, Corellia’s bustling capitol city, Todra was the only child of an engineer and his homemaker wife. Growing up, she learned to love the spaceships her father helped design and build. She would fall asleep watching the holonet of their progress against her walls every night. She dreamed of nothing by flying the ships off of Coronet and out into the galaxy.

By 12 she could drive anything that moved and by 14, fly anything they put her in the seat of. She was so eager to start her life, be away from the quiet days with her family that she forged her age on her application and at 16 was accepted into the Empire’s Pilots Academy. Her parents begged her not to go. But Todra was always headstrong and impulsive and was soon plunged into the Empire’s world. Where she was stymied. And stagnated. Like a flower, she almost wilted under the pressure to conform.

But her points kept racking up and the Ace’s kept on coming. And the talk of rebellion was something done in such secrecy, she was almost unable to uncover the way out. She graduated and was sent to her squadron – but never showed for her first duty station. Todra disappeared from the Empire’s radar and into the Rebellion’s embrace.

She wasn’t happy with staying a squadron pilot, however. Much too independent, she took to the smuggling lifestyle like a pro. Her specialty was running blockades and sneaking past the tightest of security. During this time, she met Samson, who was running a crew of his own. While they were fast friends, it was always loyalty to whom they worked for that won out. So while they’d exchange blaster fire once or twice, but she saved his life as well.

Now, she piloted his ship and was quite happy to do so.

With the engineer near-approved as well, I have a full complement and am considering starting the game (as soon as the final CS gets the all clear).

So unless I get a really fantastic extra concept sent to me, this will likely be the crew.
