Muse

*Glomphs*  May I join you?

I remember a couple of versions of this setting you've used, Pumpkin.  It's awesome.

Pumpkin Seeds

Yay. You think we should go for New Orleans or maybe historic?

Kathyan

An alternate universe where superpowered beings have to be registered and are controlled by the government in a sinful city with access to prostitution? Yes, New Orleans please. ^^

Pumpkin Seeds

So that is two for New Orleans here. I will dig out my Prowlers and Paragons book then.

Pumpkin Seeds

Any thoughts on characters, villains or what you'd like to see?

Question... I find your idea for a setting pretty keen. Would you be using the original P&P or the ultimate? I have the former but not the latter and dunno how much it changed.

Pumpkin Seeds

I have the ultimate and have been itching to use it.

I am not familiar with the P&P system but I'm willing to learn. I found a rules book but don't know which version it is. :P

I'm still pondering about my own character so characters and villains might depend on it. I wonder though if our heroines would be rebellious or willingly submissive to those who control them.

Edit:
I just realized I got the original version so I also wonder what are the changes on the ultimate one.

RobyntheWitch

Oh, are we trying for another? I would love to try.

Good news! There's a free quickstart of the Ultimate Edition as well as a sample of the book that includes the character creation chapter so between those two and knowing the original that should give a good enough grasp to make and play somebody. Both are available through the publisher on DriveThruRPG.

Hey Robyn, long time. ;)

Nice, thanks a lot. I had already been checking the P&P original handbook so I already have an idea on how this works so I'll mostly just check what differences there in the ultimate edition. :)

Pumpkin Seeds

Yeah I am hoping that the "winner" writes the action will work well in PbP style games.

Oh yes, that should work great. :)

Also I came up with two concepts, one is a sort of vampire and the other a tactile telepath, and have an idea of how to build them. I also checked the ultimate edition quickstarter but since some traits have been changed into abilities does that change the dice pool to make a char?

Anyway for characters and villains... For government npcs I was thinking mostly bossy, controlling characters who abuse their power in regard to heroes, although docile ones would be quite welcome as well; for citizens I'd expect variety, some friendly, some not so much, some even resentful or hostile.
Villains being able to take advantage of our weaknesses or putting our powers against us would be great although still leaving us chances to win or simply escape at the end of the day. I'd like them to dominate when winning but to submit (although maybe not so willingly) when losing. Maybe minions could be willing to cooperate or sell information yet also looking for a chance to trick or double-cross us while bigger villains could even work against each other, so many possibilities.
