Hi, I'd like to join if you still have room. SR was my first english rpg aswell and I loved it from day one. Never liked the rules though, but seems to me that the 4th edition rules might be the best ones yet

I know it's been a while. But with the release of some new and much needed books and errata. I can now comfortably host a 4th Edition Shadowrun book in either Hong Kong or Seattle. The game would use Shadowrun Fourth Edition [with 4th Printing Errata] Street Magic and Runner Havens. Meaning new Magicks for those who want magics and totems for shamans and lots of other goodies. As well two detailed cities prefab made to start out quickly in.

I'd also use the CharGenSR4 2.0 program for it's handiness and ability to add new skills, qualities and spells on the fly with the ability to calculate point cost with ease.

Even if you don't play my game, it's a must have utility for any Shadowrun 4th Edition game. :)

And those wondering who have access to Street Magic, the Twisted Paths are not available for play as they can get pretty disgusting, even for Elliquiy.

So the real question is this people. Do you want to play in Hong Kong or Seattle?

As for the generator, it's handy for those who don't have the books too, as it has the entire character creation method in the system itself, with what skills do and what gear is and such.

Sweet! :) You still have my character or do you want me to resend it?

ZK

And from looking at the list of things, he already added Street Magic to the new generator. Might have to remake your character as we might end up playing in Hong Kong.

I've tried to create a game... I've failed... it seeems, as far as SR goes, I am destined to write, and possibly to play. Got room for me to try the later?

ZK

Sure, most definitely. But the primary question is this.

"Hong Kong or Seattle?"

I have most experience in Seattle but Hong Kong would be fun... it would fit my character too either way though.

Muse

Hm...

Hong Kong might be fun, but I'm still newb enough to favor Seatle.

DancerTamara

I might be interested in playing.  It's been ages since I did tabletop anything, but Shadowrun is a cool system.  To let you know how long ago, I played when first edition transitioned to second.

I'd vote for Seattle.  I know nothing about Hong Kong.

Whats the Physical Adept like under 4th ed rules?

GoldenChild

more balanced, I will play one assassin/seduction build.

TheAlchemist

I'd be up for that too, if there's still room :)

Like Dancer, last time I played was with 2nd edition rules though, so a little adjusting will be needed. And either locale is fine by me.

I think I'd like to play some sort of magic user, have to give it some thought, I suck at creating interesting Shadowrun characters.

Well I've played but don't have the rules I was thinking though a Corp Companion might be fun. She would be very lightly teched up and be generally a social creature brought in to tend the needs of powerful executives of both genders, and couples.

Another option would be she works for an Entertainment Corp and that is one of their angles so she would work for anyone that could pay her fee. Well over an average schmucks salary but an excutive, scientist or prominant person like a crime boss is a different story. Would be great then at getting contacts in the game eventually in many different circles and have some regulars.

If you want a comparison think Inara on Firefly.

Game mechanics is handled more like a White Wolf based game. You have a set target number [5 and 6], you have a dice pool which you add and subtract modifiers and then you roll to get enough hits on the target number for a success. The system is more streamlined that way, but you still get times you throw a bunch of d6's at the MJ.

Download that character designer like I said, it allows you to create a character on the 400 point basis and it tells you what each skill, stat and such does.

Also, those using the character generator and make a Magician/Mystic Adept and see the spells Orgasm and Orgy, those are actual spells. They are no joke spells at all, they were introduced in Street Magic.

Hehe yeah, I saw those, thought about Elliquiy of course. A mage who knows those will be the life of the party. :)

ZK

Yeah, it'd definitely make some interesting reactions if used in combat. That chromed out gillette creaming her pants instead of slashing you up...will be interesting.

Old board up and revised. With a new catchy name, some new links and still that long, detailed creation method for non-book owners and people who want to check on something without having to flip back and forth through pages.

I'd suggest Hong Kong myself (why not try a little variety?).

ZK

We can play Seattle, I want my players to be comfortable, we can experiment with the new setting later. :)

I haven't played Shadowrun in years, but...well, gotta ask, room for one more?
