USS Suprise

In 2194 the refitted NX-20 recommissioned the USS Suprise was ok'd for operations in Starfleet in the new Patrol & Rescue arm. Armed with modern shields, phasers, torpedo launchers and engines its still considered small and underperforming but its fills a role. ~modern by the period~

Starfleet is searching for a captain and crew for the vessel.

This is going to be freeform and you will get to pick from many roles common in the Orginal Series that is what Kirk had. The medical facilities and shuttles are enhanced for its duties but still packsa flexible crew after all who knows what you might bump into. The ship still has to use a standard galley due to size and space limits for luxuries that other ships have so a cook may be around. Enlisted roles will still be the norm with officers limited to command roles so a character can play the Ordinary Seaman that is a cook or a be a security person. I have a campaign plotline ready to go as well.

This is not based on the movie.

And would it be ok if my character was a refugee turned into nurse (Which would make her rather young...Like Wesley Crusher young)?  ;D

Ok only races that would be around are permitted that would be from the Enterprise and TOS (the Kirk period) so NO Orions, Klingons (that look human BTW) or Romulans. Forget the crap from the Enterprise series Klingons looked human - period. I'm going for some realsim here save the people get naughty.

As for the plot all I'll say is your assigned to patrol near the Badlands to counter some sort of low level criminal threat piracy and smuggling, and Starfleet doesn't want to send a proper ship so assigned it to what they are using as the coast guard now save in the borders of Federation space. Its more than it appears.

Actually, Orions WERE around during Kirk's period...there have been numerous episodes featuring them.

Oh the Emergency Rescue Team Specialist oversees the rescue operations and would work with the other departments and people trained in things like any rescue person might do in the modern world, just well have more tools. Its a rather key position on a ship like this.

Appearance:
A tall Vulcan, pure blood and gene type.  Has colored hair purple in order to put patients at ease, and has
allowed it to grow a little longer in order to give it "style" again to put human patients at ease. Has grey
eyes...

Personality:
A little stuffy, even for a Vulcan.  Probably because he is a noble.  Logic is his primary motivator, yet his
underlying knowledge of physiology and psychology also allows him to grasp at the concepts behind
emotions... This combined with an earnest desire to actually care for his patients have made him an
altogether wonderful Dr, if a bit different in mind.

History:
Born of Noble Vulcan Lineage...Both parents are still alive and well on Vulcan in good standing along with
his twin.  Joined the Federation after his schooling to further improve the relations between Vulcan and
Earth.  Plus his extended knowledge of xenophysiology was better served in space than at home.  During
his tenure on Station Primaris IV, he made contact with a number of Black market dealers... mainly
because the items a lot of xenos need is illegal to the Federation.  This is presumably why he is stationed
aboard the vessel.
