Ballerinas and Bondage

Promised a life of comfort and luxury, in Russia, a woman with the hope of becoming a famous ballerina is wed to a powerful man. However, his power and wealth originates from the Russian Mafia, and soon, the woman realizes that comfort and luxury will never be hers under his cruel and oppressive hand. After several years of being subjugated to his cruelty and abuse, she flees the country in fear for her life, and travels to America to try and build a new life for herself by teaching ballet.

Several more years pass, and the woman, now a respected Madame, has opened a successful ballet school, teaching young and old alike as the yoke of her former life slips free from her shoulders. But her husband hasn't taken too kindly to the disappearance of his beautiful trophy wife. Using his influences, he discovers her whereabouts, and hires two people to abduct her and bring her back to him. However, during the kidnapping, one of the Madame's students stumbles in, and the kidnappers are forced to subdue and take her as well.

Will the teacher and her student escaped the clutches of her former husband, or is she doomed to live under his oppressive rule, with her beloved student unwillingly caught up in the mess that is her life?

This is my second attempt to get this game going. The first one fell through, so applications will start from scratch.

Rough Character Concepts
The Madame: Strong-willed, independent, and beautiful, in her mid 40s. A talented ballerina, and while she is kind and understanding, her teaching is strict and rigorous, producing fine, disciplined ballerinas with potential futures.
The Student: Impressionable, in her early teens to mid 20s, looks up to her Madame and respects her greatly. 
The First Kidnapper: A woman, cold, methodical, and calculating. The brains of the operation.
The Second Kidnapper: A man, strong, ruthless, and cruel. The muscle of the operation.

Requirements

• This is not a first come, first served opening.
• Some minor ballet or dance knowledge would be preferable for the Madame and the Student early in the roleplay. Nothing beyond searching ballet terms, and it wouldn't extend into the rest of the game.
• Accurate character profiles. No drawn or animated pictures, and pictures should be representative of their characters (consistent ethnicities and ages).
• The above concepts are only rough ideas.
• Post length should be around 3 paragraphs on average, depending on the scene and interactions.
• Availability for the game. The reason the first game failed is because people would join, then quickly drop out completely with no notice. If you cannot commit to keeping a group game moving, do not apply.

Name: Lila Piper
Age: Nearly Seventeen
Position: Student

Biography: Lila is a quiet girl, seemingly shy. She doesn't have many friends because...Well, who can has time for friends? She comes from a strict family and has been dancing since she was two years old. She has never had a boyfriend because again...There just isn't time for a boyfriend, not when one dreams to be a star.

Lila lives and breathes ballet, she carries her ballet shoes everywhere with her. She is very good.

Her parents are wealthy and divorced. The divorce is a recent thing, so Lila has been spending more and more time at the studio, dancing until she's exhausted. On more than one occasion she has had to bathe bruised and bloodied feet in a cold bath after over doing it.

She's strict with herself, measures out all meals and counts calories. Her mother is a perfectionist, always picking on Lila for something or other. Just one little stand of hair out of place is enough to distress the mother. Father is inattentive. He holds the purse strings and that has always been his role in her life.

Not only does she love to dance, but it is a way to express her inner most feelings. A kind of release.

The day in question, Lila was working harder than ever. Every day she moved until she couldn't take it anymore. She needed it to keep her mind off the letter from Julliard accepting or denying her application to enroll the following term.

Name: Yelena Naumov

Biography:

Yelena was just another pretty waitress in Moscow, trying to scrape together enough money to attend university, when she caught the eye of handsome businessman Maksim Naumov. A large tip that night and his charming smile convinced her to take time out of her busy schedule to go on a date. A whirlwind romance resulted in marriage a few scant months later, Yelena unable to believe her good fortune in finding a handsome, rich, romantic husband. His large pocketbook gave his young wife the opportunity to quit her waitressing job and pursue her true dream: dance. Maksim provided his wife with a private dance instructor, and it soon became clear she had star potential in ballet, despite starting at an older age than most.

But not all was wine and roses with Maksim, and being confined to his home started to irk Yelena. He rarely let her out of his sight, except when he was gone on “business,” which was frequently and at strange hours. She learned his business was hardly so legitimate, and he was also prone to drinking, the slightest provocation (real or imagined) from Yelena earning his violent anger.

A few years of abuse under Maksim’s cruel reign proved all Yelena could bear, and she took a huge risk and escaped to the States.

It has been almost two decades since Yelena immigrated to the US, and her courage and perseverance have helped her establish a successful ballet studio. She is a firm teacher, a complete believer that personal discipline is essential for a controlled performance, but is not without compassion - she is soft-spoken and never shouts, even if chastising a willful student. Yelena is possessed of confidence and a natural grace befitting her beauty that has not faded with time.

Name: Sergei Nabokov (A.K.A. Golden Boy, Без перевода )

Biography: Born in Moscow, son of a “Fixer” for the mafia, there was nothing that Sergei ever wanted for. Blessed with money, influence and privilege Sergei grew up with the most thorough tutors and attended prestigious private schools. His father, however, was always more interesting than school and Serge wanted to be just like him. Despite his father’s adamant demand that his son be left out of “The Life”, Sergei would follow him to meetings and show up at known K.G.B. establishments.

By the time he was sixteen, he was known by most of the Mob Family and given the nickname “Golden Boy”. Thrilled to be noticed among those initiate in his father’s business, Sergei dropped out and threw himself headlong into the life. He started earning tattoos and running errands for the outfit, getting into fights with business owners who refused to pay taxes on their turf. When he got a tooth knocked out in a bar brawl, he replaced it with one of solid gold.

In his late teens and twenties, Sergei moved up among the ranks. More tattoos and more responsibilities meant more brutal crimes and higher percentages. He was always carrying a gun, choosing a .44 Magnum Revolver, just like his father had worn on his side.

In his eagerness to please the Family, Sergei made a bold move into a rival gang’s heroine trade which eventually got him shot and hospitalized for over a month. During that time, Sergei’s father turned his .44 on himself. There wasn‘t enough left of him for an open casket funeral.

Sergei still walks with a limp from his injuries, but carries a gold handled cane which allows him to move with relative ease. After the death of his father, Sergei became even more dedicated to his Mob family, desperate to fill his father’s shoes as a “Fixer”. When a request came down directly from Maksim Naumov, Sergei jumped at the opportunity to prove himself worthy of clandestine contracts. He was to find and return Sir Naumov’s long lost wife from America where she had fled.

Nothing and no one would stop him from succeeding at this task.
