Sorry, long ass day at work and have a volunteer task in a bit.  Lovin all the activity.  I will agree with Charonea that it would be nice to see some concept ideas along with the character sheet.

Chaeronea-Bear in mind that there is still a colonial defense force, and that there will be significant pressure from the civilian side to not "reactivate."  You may want to cut your bio a little short and give him the choice of staying civilian or accepting a role in the fleet, could be good times RPin it out.  Also, minor note, the civilian defense force flies the old Scorpions as opposed to Vipers.  I'm lovin just about everything about the character, though.

Glad you like him, Kckolbe. I remember that at the start of the miniseries Tyrol mentioned that they managed to salvage Adama's old Viper Mark II from a scrapyard on Sagittaron, and the Mark II and Mark III Vipers were used in the First Cylon War. The Viper Mark VII was the model used by the Fleet at the time of the Fall of the Colonies. My assumption was that the colonial defence forces would be using older model Vipers, possible Mark IIs and Mark IIIs left over from the First War.

The only mention of Scorpion in space combat that I could find in BSG continuity was the Scorpion Fleet Yards above the Scorpia colony.

I might drop the last sentence from the bio, Kckolbe, to free up some options. If there's too many CAGs showing up in the story I can have Sam pulled back into another role, either standard Viper pilot or (more likely) an instructor Viper pilot. Heck, he might even end up as a ship's captain, Standard doctrine today is for aircraft carrier captains to be drawn from the ranks of former pilots like the Adamas.

Think of her as classical 18th or 19th century scholar scientist, she has a doctorate but general in a useful area of interest.

I am only counting 11 and 6.  The four 3s cost one point each and the 5 costs seven points (1 for 2-3, 3 for 3-4, 3 for 4-5).

I might be more incorrect on the fighter issue than intended, but let me get back to you on that.  Either way, it's the same mechanically.  He flew fighters that are now obsolete but still available.

I'll PM you with some other questions in a bit.  Your character has a lot of options, and I'd like to talk them out with you before he gets committed to a certain path.

They way I see it, she is the representative of the military in the cabinet of the Secretary of Health.
Basically she is there to serve the medical interests of the non-civilians in the fleet as well as offer her expertise for the deployment of military resources in matters of health.

Personality: Cass is an intense, smart woman who has always known what she wanted and gone for it with determination and will. Honest to a fault she doesn't pull her verbal punches, so if you ask her a question, ask it expecting the unvarnished truth. That being said, she can be amazingly kind and gentle with her patients and their families as well. Kind and unwaveringly loyal, she will defend those she trusts and cares for with her last breath, but once that trust is lost, earning it back will take an, almost, Herculean effort.

Background: Growing up on Picon to a military family it was simply assumed from the time she could walk, that Cass would be military as well. This was an assumption she had no problem with, especially since the military complex would give her the means to go to medical school, and plenty of opportunity to become a practicing trauma surgeon. Her end goal was actually to, eventually, retire from the military and take up practice on Caprica but the Cylons ended that plan with their attacks on the colonies.

With a fleet on the run she finds herself not only with plenty of trauma's to repair but with a dwindling set of supply closets demanding she research and learn alternative, and sometimes ancient, techniques for surgeries to stretch what supplies they have for as long as possible.

Addiction(minor): When she gets stressed, Cass longs for a cigarette. She knows she should quit (and with the human fleet being on the run it's likely she'll have no choice sometime soon) but when the shit hits the fan she either needs a cigarette, or a surgery to focus and calm her nerves.

Fear: Growing up on Picon, there were beaches everywhere and as a child she spent more time than she can quantify running those beaches and swimming in the massive ocean that surrounds Picon's only continent. Due to an accident when she was 10 however, she nearly drown and since then has had a crippling fear of bodies of water. She doesn't even like bathtubs if she can avoid them.

Merits:
Eidetic Memory She has nearly perfect recall of anything she has read or truly focused her attention on.

Miracle Hands: Cass is an excellent surgeon, her hands never shake or tremble no matter how tired the rest of her body is.

Mostly background, and on cold nights its nice to have warm bodies to cuddle with.  ;D

Hey again, folks.  Likin what I see so far.  About 2/3 of the required roles are filled, and a small number of the desired as well (only counting submitted ones so far).  I'm definitely appreciative of the realism I am seeing in all of these sheets.  I really feel like these characters belong in this game, and I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

It has been mentioned to me that I am only seeing older characters because I am bribing players with extra xp.  If so, I'm relatively okay with that, but I don't want to give the impression that older characters are stronger.  The older you are, the more experience you have, but also the less Destiny Points you'll have (which can be spent on merits or used for luck) and for the older characters (Kythia's and Chaeronea's), some penalties as well.

I was not expecting the ass-kicking at work the last two days, but this weekend I will post the guidelines for status, the actual amount of points everyone will get, and the Merits/Flaws.

Until then, I would like to get an idea about how you folks feel about secondary characters.  I am considering allowing them for desired roles with male characters.  Secondary characters would ideally start with slightly less xp.

Personally, I'd suggest allowing 2nd characters for those who are really active, or can convince you that they can handle it. If you let slower-posters/less-active posters have more than one character, that will just slow them down even more, and eventually wear them down. I've seen it happen too many times not to bring it up.

And I wouldn't allow more than 2 until the game is WELL underway.

I don't mean to sound like a party-pooper, but that's just my opinion.  :)

I could do two characters how about a smuggler with their own ship, a stealthy thing with borrowed parts including a FTL and good at getting into places they shouldn't. I would likely have him be attached to the Colonial civilian force as a privateer for their commander. Maybe a refitted military courier from the 1st Cylon War that is good at what it does.

mia and kckolbe - I was thinking about bumping my status right up to 6 and being in my post since before the attacks (not through the death of a superior).  I like the idea of the established and experienced military commander and the naïve president who should never really have been there in normal circumstances.

Obviously this affects both your character, mia, and the game in general, kckolbe, so I thought I better solicit feedback before finalising anything.

Does this mean the minimum age is twenty-nine for characters?

Oh and to expand on RedEve's question, what are Destiny Points generally used for and are they finite?
