Formatting! Help?

So a few years ago I knew how to format a signature in HTML and did so. Well, upon returning to E I have lost such knowledge and I could really use some help in gaining it again!  If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it!
I am trying to link to my short story but have it appear as the name of the story instead of the entire URL in my signature. Thank you!
