Small Town World (Inspired by Jericho)

It is the 127th anniversary of the small town of Jasper North Carolina, there is nothing particularly special about this town, it is known to have one of the few Wal-Marts in the area, as well as a bakery that makes fantastic strawberry pies. There is plenty of shut down factories once well used but now long abandoned, or used for storage and one of the few job producers is a cannery where 90% of the population work. There are elections coming up in a few months, the mayor is expected to win again with a resounding popular vote; the farmland is all occupied and grows mostly soybeans and corn, thats the big seller for those still in the business and no one really cares that Jasper is 127 years old, or that it exists at all.

All of this however is about to change, because down wind of Jasper is the city of Charlotte North Carolina, and on the day of this unknown little towns 127th anniversary mushroom clouds appear over it and over night the whole world goes to hell and this town is left on its own.

Setting:Modern Day United States
Roleplay type: Sandbox with structured plot
Possible Character types: Townsfolk of all stripes, hospital workers, sheriffs department, shop owners, criminals, survivors, vacationers from out of town who have come for the anniversary, anyone who lives in small town America is welcome here.
Possible themes: Survival, intrigue, cutthroat nature, violence, crime and punishment, drama, tragedy and corruption, affairs
Inspiration: Jericho, and Jeremiah

There is no Canon on this story although there are inspirations it is original, it is based in no set universe with no alternative history that we will follow and while our characters probably will not shape how the world ends up it will be effected by it and in some small ways the town could effect it. It will be on NC human, we will not be bringing in vampires, werewolves or ZOMBIES, only human beings coping with the nightmare of terrorists managing to pull off the biggest attack in history. You will be allowed 3 characters no more then that, and we are pushing for people wanting to effect the town, to have some say in it. We do not encourage any PCs being children, we will allow NPC children but strictly abide by the rules and standards set by Ell and our community.
