As it says in my signature, I am looking to revamp two old roleplays that have grown stagnant. One is a group, the other one on one, and both are bondage/BDSM themed. The one on one requires a male roleplayer, and the group roleplay needs a mixture of both.

Here is the discussion thread for the one on one roleplay.

Here is the discussion thread for the group roleplay.

What I would like are PMs from anyone interested, but before you do decide to apply, please note that I am looking for are committed players who will not simply abandon the story. Thank you.

NileGoddess

'Night at Izumi's' has been taken. Ancient Revenge is still open.

Snow Cherry

I would like to have dibbs on the character Mary Hassan in 'Ancient Revenge'

Can I change her first name though? I know a Mary and it is not working for me    :P

NileGoddess

You would be welcome to change anything you wish about the character. I merely picked arbitrary names for the ethnicity.

Snow Cherry

I am not up to par with my history... and because you mentioned ethnicity I should ask this question. Were the Egyptians dark skinned? If they were, and Mary is a descendant of an Egyptian, would that make my character dark skinned too? I do not care the color of my characters skin at all, I just want to make sure I am playing the correct ethnicity.

NileGoddess

Once again, it's not a huge thing. I doubt that this person would be a direct descendant. There would be a mixing of cultures in the several thousand years of history. She could be American or any ethnicity you choose.

Snow Cherry

Ok.

Do you want me to create a character sheet and post it up in the group rp thread or should I wait?

NileGoddess

If you are feeling bored, you may, but I'd like to hear from some more people if at all possible first. I don't want you to go through the trouble then have nothing pull through.

Drivestort

I'd be happy to take up Michael Wells on the Ancient Revenge.

Snow Cherry

Ok, I will just hang around then and wait to post a character sheet...   O:)

NileGoddess

As it stands, Cherry and Drive are interested. I'll wait for one more day or so, then we can begin. I think it might work out if we just have 2 people now, and I know a third who was interested earlier.

Sounds great.

NileGoddess

Alright everyone, I think we have enough to begin planning and starting profiles. Cherry, Drivestort, Cere, and jiggles have all expressed interest first, so they are accepted.

What I would first like are character profiles. You've all read the original thread, so you know the general gist about the characters. However, don't feel obligated to abide to these templates. Feel free to change anything and everything about them.

Drivestort

Any kind of specific information you want in the profiles?

Here is a straw man profile for Josh...please feel free to shake to pieces. I was unsure of timing and have established a preliminary great great aunt relationship with the ancestor...could be wildly wrong!   :D

C

Name: Josh Nakhti

Age:  31

Height: 5’ 11”

Occupation: Professor of Egyptology, Fellow of The Queens College, Oxford

Residence: Has a town house in Chelsea, professorial rooms at Queens and spends 3 months of each year in Egypt.

Personality:

Despite being, outgoing, witty and charming in the lecture hall and an Oxford blue at rowing, he is quite solitary in his non-student facing time.  He is single and heterosexual but has not had the pleasure of women for some time due to the obsession for translating ancient text often late into the night.

Background:

A prodigy from birth, Josh was destined to follow the family tradition of Oxon academia, achieving his first degree (hon) at the age of 16.  His mental brilliance catapulted him through his studies until he was where he wanted to be, at the pinnacle of study of Ancient Egypt, for this is what allows him to chase his real desires.

Josh is a writer and lecturer on the esoteric tradition of ancient Egypt and its religious, philosophical, and metaphysical legacy in modern times. His continuing study in this field derives from a fifteen-year background in historical research, travel throughout the Middle East, and the development of a repertoire of unique skills in recreating Egyptian ceremony and rituals. He is a member of Temple Harakhte, a group of men and women devoted to the experiential religious practices of Egypt’s Old Kingdom.

Above and beyond offering a thorough knowledge of Egyptian history and mythology, Nakhti is well versed in the hieroglyphic script, its transliteration and the translation of ancient texts, and in the nuances of Hermetic philosophy and Sacred Science.

What is not generally known is Josh’s particular attraction to magical practice and ritual in Ancient Egypt. His attraction became an obsession for some time following the discovery of some documents uncovered from a safe that belonged to his great, great aunt, one of the three people responsible for sealing away the body of Queen Cleopatra the Goddess ruler and sexual tyrant. The papers, written in ancient script, were secreted away into Josh’s custody, he being one of a handful of men on earth who could understand their content. Josh later discovered that these papers contained details of the exact charms used at that time. He has almost completed the translation, there are only a few areas where the charms are ambiguous and these he has been rationalising for the last five years.

Bodily Scars: There was a rumour in college that he had a tattoo on the shaft of his penis with the words “I <3 MUMMIES”. This was later thought to be an Oxon myth.

Name: Kate Hassan

Age: 30

Occupation: Visiting Archaeologist at the Historical Museum in London, England.

Residence: Town House in London, England

Personality: Independent, Goal-Oriented, Quick-Minded, Sarcastically Bitter, Dreamer

Background: Archaeology has always been a personal subject to Kate. Both her father and mother were PhD Professors in the field and imperviously tried to impose the career upon their only child. Although Kate always held a secret fascination for history, she put up the front that she couldn’t care less and that it was only a job to pay bills. Her parents had easily paved the road for her into a successful career with their renowned reputation, but to despise everything they stood for she tormented them by pursuing fields of less popular favoritism within her family.

As soon as she was able, Kate left London for America to be alone and to pursue her Masters degree in Archaeology. She adopted an interest for the Native Americans and their history and quickly applied herself to the dig sites of ceremonial burials. Little did she know that she had accidently stepped into a silent war. Locally living Native Americans demanded possessive rights to the 5,000 year old artifacts being dug up at these ceremonial burial sites and Kate found herself becoming an expertise in the field of Repatriation, which is the process of returning a person back to one’s place of origin or citizenship. Ongoing a number of unintentionally spent years under tutor-ledge and field expertise debating and fighting over the rightful possession of ancient artifacts (and running from her parents), Kate had feared that she had strayed too far from the center of her original career. Now having realized the love her parents were trying to give her, she abandoned the hopeless fight against archaeologists and the descendents of Native Americans and returned to London.

Having gained her Master’s degree while in America, and flying under the reputation of her parents, she was quickly employed at the Historical Museum which houses the greatest finds of Egypt artifacts – however not without cost. Kate willingly humbled herself by accepting a ‘behind the scenes’ lowly position upon the archaeology team during graveyard shift; data compilation and preservation. The position did not bother her much as long as she knew it made her parents proud. After all, they had always sworn up and down to Kate that their own blood contained Egyptian roots! Besides, Kate Hassan had still yet to gain that ‘PhD’ in archaeology, and with people like Josh Nakhti running around as competition in the field, she was quick to accept this graveyard position with no complaints.

NileGoddess

For those of you who sent me your profiles, please post them in this thread as well for the sake of the other players.

Michael WellsAge: 43
Height: 6'0
Build: Slim

Hair: Short, dark red
Eyes: Brown
Occupation: Smithsonian Anthropology Department language specialist, on loan for the dig if it fits the story better.
Personality: Always tries to be a pleaser, taking the most easy and painless way out, though he weighs his options carefully with an analytical eye.

Background: Wells was born in Washington DC, both his parents in politics. From a young age, he loved going to the Smithsonian museums, and had dreamed of working there. Later on, he found he had an ear for languages and got his first degree as a linguist, with a minor in history. Afterwards, he got degrees in anthropology, and took his internship at the Smithsonian, where he was afterwards hired. He's worked as a translator and on site language specialist through Asia and South America, and northern Africa, this is his third site in Egypt specifically.

Hey everyone - this looks like a great group! I'll get my profile for Andrea Peyton done this evening and post it.

jiggles

Name: Andrea Peyton
Age: 28
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 135
Measurements: 34 B - 26 - 36

Andrea Peyton was born and raised in California, in a wealthy and liberal family. She grew up attending private schools and was always at the top of her class. After finishing her graduate studies in archaeology in London she stayed on and took a position with the university there.

Personally, Andrea is energetic and cheerful, and enjoys her job and her life very much. She has a boisterous laugh that she loves to share, a quick smile and a quicker wit. Although she gets along with almost everyone she can, when challenged or disrespected, be quite cruel and vindictive. Andrea has been slightly spoiled by a life of privilege, but feels she deserves what she gets because of her hard work and natural talent.

Andrea specialized in Egyptology because she has been told that her ancestors came from the region. She hasn't been able to trace much of her family lineage, but it still fascinates her. She is especially familiar with the government, structure, political history, and archaeology of Egypt.

Andrea is quite excited about the recent acquisition of the relics of Cleopatra. She has always found the mysterious queen to be inspirational and fascinating. She pulled some strings to get herself on the team that would catalog the find, and hopes to have some opportunities to show off her skills.

Yes, great profiles!

Speaking about getting started, where do you guys see us opening the roleplay at? What will be the setting and what will be happening? I guess what I am trying to say is that we got the 'who', 'what', and the 'when' figured out, but what about the 'where' and 'how'?    :-)
