This is America and it's 2010. It is five years after the Blackrose Correctional Institute, a women's prison starving for extra backing from the government's coffers, open the country's first co-ed prison block.

The result was the Cellblock C (dubbed this because of its Co-Ed status). The Block was host to a series of mid-level offenders - no murderers or repeat offenders - who lived together in the same complex. Cells were assigned by gender, but swapping proved commonplace. As long as everyone's present in the morning, the hacks could have cared less. A lot has gone on in the five years since Cellblock C opened. They have weathered a riot, allegations of prostitution within the walls, and a prison porn scandal, and despite objections, the entire prison has now gone co-ed. Not only that, it is now host to the country's first co-ed maximum security wing, and most recently a co-ed Death Row.

Warden Harris, the overseer for the project and its original create, has profitted from the project so much that he has curried his newfound political favor and become Governer. From that office he still oversees the project, not wanting his crown acheivement to be tarnished, lest he be cast in ill light.

Blackrose is now open and recruiting. Feel free to drop by the board, toss up something in OOC chat, and PM a character if interested.

I sent two characters a Head of the rehabilitation program at odds with the warden a bit appointed by the Department of Corrections and an inmate that will have a hard time of it.

BCI is going to be having an open tour for the press (no cameras, please), led by Governer Harris himself, in the near future. With that in mind, anyone wishing to play a reporter or an atache or functionary of the Governer, feel free to read the existing play, get a feel for things, and PM me a character.

BCI is still recruiting interested parties, and with the approach of a Gubernatorial visit to the facility, the chance to cook up civillians is now. Politocs, family members to NPC (or PC with player permission) inmates, reporters, or just people who might want a tour of the prison are all up for approval. Just read into the game a bit, and drop me a line to apply.
