The times, they are changing....

About a century ago, alien contact was made.  We didn't handle it as well as we could have when several dozen colony ships, packed full with hundred of thousands of desperate alien visitors, appeared above every major city of our world.  But despite a rocky start, (and most of eastern Asia going to war with their new alien neighbors who thankfully chose not to completely flatten us lowly humans out of sheer spite), things eventually settled down over the following years.  Now, we live in a much better world than we could have ever achieved on our own.  There's still problems by all means, you can't have so many people from several different worlds in the same place without some tension flaring up, but overall we've managed to put our past issues behind us.  Technology has come leap and bounds from what it'd been a century back, life expectancy has greatly improved, and while some isolated parts of the world have refused to expand like the rest of us, hunger, disease, and many other issues from the old world have been all but dealt with.  We're not an utopian society by any means, but we're getting there.

The 'golden' megacity, of which most of the world's cities can now be safely called given their sheer size and scale, of Elysium, located on a manmade island off the coast of Los Angeles, is where this little tale takes place.  Elysium might not be a paradise, but it's pretty close to what the Ancient Romans once envisioned the afterlife was like.  The weather's fair, the people are generally friendly, and its slowly expanding seaward with every passing year, allowing more and more people to inhabit the island, which in turn encourages trade and commerce with the entire western seaboard in the process.  Everyone wins, long term residents and new arrivals alike, regardless if they're from 'out of town' or not.  And if you're worried about being in an established relationship with the same sex or what have you, don't be, there's plenty of bars and clubs for just about anyone, regardless of your preferences in such things.  Just don't get your dextro and amino based acids mixed up or you'll likely be spending a few days in the nearest hospital getting your stomach pumped.  Whatever your reasons for settling in Elysium, your social standing or lack there of, there's a place for everyone here.  Just don't cause any trouble or you'll be answering to the Elysium Police Department, some of the country's finest charged with keeping the peace, augmented with fully autonomous synthetic lifeforms across the board.  From androids to cyborgs and everything in between, the EPD are not to be trifled with likely.  So, what are you waiting for?  Come on down to Elysium and find your piece of heaven, today.

Elysium

The Commerce Hub

Elysium is divided into a number of districts, with each one encompassing about a third of the island the megacity resides on.  The North Sector, or the Commerce Hub as it's commonly called, is where the space elevator, which has a direct line into what was once the International Space Station now turned luxury resort, resides.  It's also where the space port for new arrivals is situated, as well as returning residents.  Trade is thickest here, with dozens of transports and civilian freighters of various sizes come and go at all hours of the day.  While not the most livable of places, a sprawling, transient community has sprung up around the spaceport over the years, allowing workers and their families to live in relative comfort with appropriate sound proofing dampeners cutting down the noise from the shuttle filled sky considerably.  Despite the heavy amount of traffic, with clean burning fuel sources and cold fusion reactor tech, there is very little in the way of smog filled pollution to choke on, having long since eliminated such things way back in the day.

The Mall

The Southwestern Sector, or as the locals call it, the Mall, is where many of Elysium's upper crust of society tend to gravitate towards.  Despite being a pseudo-gated community, reserved for the big and rich, every walk of life is welcome here.  Some of the island's finest clubs, restaurants, and sea facing apartments and penthouses reside here, with the most sought after places being those closest to the water.  Unfortunately, with the ever expanding nature of the island, the property line for the most sought after places inevitably shift ever towards the sea with each new city block that's added to the island.  Some of the oldest resident alien races have established a number of cultural centers and museums, detailing their respective histories, cultures, and more for any curious souls that might wish to know more about their neighbors.  All in all, the Mall has something for everyone.  Just stay off the lawn of the gated estates, or the owners' security drones will taze you and drag you off to the nearest police station, if you're lucky.

The Black Hole

The Southeastern Sector, often labeled as the Vortex or derogatorily called the Black Hole, is the dark heart of Elysium's otherwise glimmering streets and sunkissed buildings.  The Black Hole is where those who can't keep up with the ever evolving city inevitably wind up.  While it's not riddled with crime, it's still a part of the city that you don't want to go into without a good blaster at your side.  Most of the gangs that rule the most run down parts of town actually try to keep the peace where the EPD can't, but there's a few that cause all manner of trouble for the locals who have it hard enough as it is.  Despite the nature of the Black Hole, so long as you're clever and careful, anyone can make a fairly decent living in this part of town, but fortune doesn't always favor the bold down here.  But as the oldest part of Elysium, the Black Hole's residents will not relinquish their homes without a fight, and anyone stupid enough to try often end up in a cast for their foolishness.  While prostitution is legal down here, STDs are virtually non existent, and while thrill seekers are discouraged from coming down here, a number of barely legal combat arenas and full contact sporting events are fully sponsored and televised in this part of town.

Agreed, it is very interesting. What types of character are you most expecting/were thinking about for this game?

Anything from Incase's puazi to Mass Effect's asari and everything in between would be more than acceptable.  Granted, you'd be free to put your own spin on things, but it was my intent that it was the puazi that came first, who helped us reach for the stars despite their biological quirks when they're around humans.  The fact there isn't a lot of information beyond that comic, Xenobiology, about them actually helps since there'd be a lot more room to maneuver, but really as far as characters go, just your average, everyday kind of people 18 and up would be good.  They can have multiple arms, be telekinetic, have bug eyes, whatever, as long as they aren't super powered badasses or anything lol.  And despite my using the puazi as an example, by this point they've managed to gain a lot better control of their urges through gene therapy and medication and what have you, so this won't turn into a sex romp.  I'm hoping not anyway lol.

Sex will definitely be allowed, I'd just rather it not be the focus is all if that makes sense.  I'm actually drawing inspiration from the Big Group game, Zootopia: Hybrid Theory for how to run this one in that, the 'Plot' will not be a required part of play, it'll optional.  We'd make our own stories with just our day to day interactions and the people around us, but if people want to get involved with the darker side of things, they most definitely can.  I will however ask that if you make a character, we limit the number of quote unquote, bad guys running around.  Not everyone can be a criminal mastermind or the head of a gang after all.

Lol not at all, although you probably know more about them than me because I only recently got interested in the puazi.  I stumbled across Xenobiology looking through someone's solo request thread truth be told.  I'd seen pictures but could never figure out what it was until then, so needless to say, I've been trying to get a few stories involved with them ever since lol.  I even have two, although I'm not sure if my partners are still interested unfortunately.  Meh, oh well.

This character sheet might be edited slightly, so don't copy and try to fill this in, but it's an example of what I'm kinda leaning towards just so you guys know what to expect.  I'm also taking a moment to specifically say, you could potentially play nearly anything and anyone you could dream up.  Now I said nearly anyone, but roles like the Chief of Police in one of the Sectors or even the Mayor of Elysium would be my general exception to that, but feel free to play the ex wife to the Mayor, or the son to the Chief of Police or what have you.  I'm just thinking the big leader official types would be more NPC roles controlled by the GMs, which I'm hoping to get a couple of assistants to help keep things running smoothly.  As for alien races themselves, I actually already have the plan to use a twi'lek picture to put together what I'm currently calling the Ashenti, to quote wigglebiscuit during our solo game, the progenitor species to the Puazi.  Essentially their creators, who treated their creations no better than slaves, which prompted the puazi to escape their home world and end up on our doorstep.

Before anyone freaks out, it's only an idea and even if it goes through, all that happened years ago.  Things have changed considerably and while I'm all for allowing hard feelings to linger, it's entirely optional.  But my girl would likely just be an officer to the EPD.  I had actually tried to find a four armed alien looking person, but the only one I found that was remotely attractive was Sheeva from Mortal Kombat.  She'd have been a professional massage therapist lol.  But again, those are just ideas, so feel free to go as nuts as you like.  See ya!

With all the action-packed games and the like, it's nice to see the occasional slice-of-life idea. XD I'm gonna put forward my interest in this, just have to spend some time coming up with a character to use. o: Alot of this kinda reminds me a bit of Xenoblade Chronicles X in a way.

How will abilities/flaws fit in? I would imagine there would be some/a few human characters who may not have extra-special abilities per-say - so are these just personality traits or are you thinking more 'super' abilities where the alien species are concerned?

Nah, more like just things you're good at.  Some people know their plants, some people have an eye for detail, while others might be exceptionally fast or have real good aim, just things like that.  Granted, powers and such can also fit here, but it's really what makes you stand out as a person rather than your species.  Flaws can be anything along those lines as well from being deathly afraid of spiders to simply being stubborn or bullheaded.

Vanilla humans are easy to be, but when you include aliens, it opens up such a huge spectrum of what could be allowed. XD It definitely allows for more interesting and odd character designs to be useD here, like your mention of using Sheeva.

I'm gonna have to peruse any and all my games and possibly some odd animes to try and get a character idea for this. Seeing Elysium and it's other locales paints a great mental picture, but the super broad character spectrum leaves me a tad lost for now. I'll narrow myself down little by little though. :3 Might have to look into a few monsterpeople...

Trials in Tainted Space is the first thing I thought of when you mentioned text porn game, followed right behind Corruption of Champions lol.  They're both fairly popular, and there's even a tabletop version of TiTS you can test play with the group unless they're selling it now.  Either way, there were some pretty cool aliens from that I'd definitely allow.  ;D

Also, while I haven't watched Defiance since season 1, if someone decides to open up a place inspired by the Need/Want, I'd love you for life lol.  There's also a few good aliens from the show you're more than welcome to adapt for this if you guys wanted to do so.  The Imogen especially were downright hot as Hell for being simply very pale skinned humanoids.  Biomen weren't bad, but I think they could have done a lot more with those giant blue guys than what they ended up doing.

Meh it's no biggie.  I just went ahead and posted an edited sheet onto the first page along with the code needed.  Mostly I just added a more detailed Species thing as well as an actual Gender area lol.

EDIT:  and before anyone asks, the species thing is just more basic notes and stuff about your particular people.  You don't need a giant thing there, but SOMETHING will be required.  Feel free to expand upon it though as time goes on.  If you're using an already established race from some other source, that's perfectly fine, but I'd still like to know where they came from if at all possible even if they're heavily altered.  Thanks!

Species:  The Ashenti, after their creation, the Puazi, escaped their home world, have been forced to change, using their mastery of genetics to adapt to dozens of different worlds since their home is virtually uninhabitable even with terraforming technology.  Despite the ecological destruction of their home planet, brought on when several thermonuclear devices were detonated to aid in the Puazi's escape, most Ashenti have moved forward, accepting that their former mistreatment of sapient and sentient life was horrifically wrong, and that it was inevitable before someone stepped up to stop them.  That it was their own slave race that did it only helped in the long run.  While the Ashenti still possess their mastery of genetics research and technology, what was once used to pervert and enslave life according to their grand design, is now used to help the same people they wronged for so long, the Puazi included.

Unlike most species among the galaxy, the Ashenti had forsaken their ancestral gods when they unlocked the secrets of complete genetic manipulation.  Why did they need mystical creator figures when they could shape the very building blocks of life itself as they saw fit?  This sheer arrogance eventually led to them creating what they thought would be a docile slave race, the Puazi.  But life, they found out, always finds a way, and despite their best efforts, the Puazi became their own people, and would eventually escape their creators.  The Ashenti paid a heavy price for their hubris, and have been doing their utmost to make amends for their past crimes against their creation as well as the rest of the galaxy, of which their crimes are numerous.  After all, even they couldn't create life from nothing, the 'material' had to come from somewhere...

Biologically speaking, the Ashenti aren't so far removed from humans, and are even genetically compatible from a procreation standpoint.  Most Ashenti children born of a human partner is usually Ashenti themselves, but there can be a small degree of visible human influence such as unusual eye color and follicle growth.  Like their creation, the Ashenti can develop a fully functioning cock that can be used to fertilize their partner, or to be impregnated themselves, but it can be used just for the sheer pleasure of the act so long as certain precautions are taken, naturally.  Their head tails allow for incredible spatial awareness and balance, while their eyes can see in the dark, adaptations that were stolen from several other races when the Ashenti were still using their mastery of science to become genetically perfect beings.  While not the longest lived species by any means, they typically remain physically active nearly twice as long as humans, with their elders being close to three hundred years old on average.

Personality:  Telpono doesn't like to be reminded of what her people used to be.  While she was born long after the well deserved destruction of the home world, she had parents that lived through it, and they made sure she knew it.  Despite their efforts to cling to a way of life that had gotten their entire race into the mess they were still in a century later, Telpono treats most people she meets like actual people instead of spare parts.  She has a strong sense of right and wrong, and while she might butt heads with her fellow officers occasionally, Telpono would do whatever she deems necessary to keep close friends on the force alive, even if that meant taking a bullet for one of them.  On her off hours though, Telpono loses her serious demeanor and no nonsense attitude, becoming considerably more relaxed and fun loving.  Regardless of the situation though, she's loyal, steadfast, and doesn't do bullshit well.  Mess with her or her friends at your own peril.

Appearance:  Standing at about 6 foot 3 inches, Telpono is slightly taller than most of her kind that normally only come up to about 5 foot 5 inches, which has led to the joke that her growth tank got too small for her overinflated pride.  Saying that in front of her is liable to get you a punch to the jaw though since she had two natural parents, just like most of her kind these days.  Her entire body is covered in tribal tattoos that stand out on her crimson skin, her silky smooth if muscular figure being completely hairless save for small eyelashes that frame her yellow, large eyes that tend to always be facing forward, much like a predator judging the distance from her prey.  Her head tails, while nearly as sensitive as a human's ear to both touch and audio stimulation, making for an easily accessed erogonous zone, are often adorned with either metallic or cloth headdresses that wrap around both an Ashenti's head tails as well as the head itself.  While most are typically simple and made of cloth or comfortably restrictive leather, most of Telpono's headdresses tend to be more nets of beads when she's out of uniform or just relaxing about her apartment.

As far as clothing is concerned, outside of work, Telpono sees little point in being uncomfortable or to even hide what she is, so she wears as little clothing as she can respectfully get away with.  Thanks to a much more generally accepting atmosphere despite the hatred and fear of her particular race, she can get away with wearing very little more than a very low cut dress or a simple band of leather around her breasts and short shorts that leaves little to the imagination.  In the comfort of her own home she doesn't bother to dress at all most days, preferring instead to let her skin breathe after a long, relaxing soak in her tub most nights.  While she doesn't typically bother with perfumes, finding the ones she'd like too expensive for her taste, she has a weakness for lavender and sage.  Luckily the candles she buys from a local family run shop make for a good substitute to growing her own sage or lavender, although she has on occasion since there were a couple of flowers on Hava that came very close.  For all of her problems at home, she misses the fields of wild flowers the most.

History:  Despite growing up in a very 'old Ashenti' household, meaning her parents stuck to their own kind as much as possible in the hopes of keeping their so called culture intact, Telpono was driven to rebellion at a very young age when she stumbled across a stray cat wandering in the backyard of her house one morning.  Despite being miles from any other 'inferior race' and their settlements on the colony world of Hava, a small shuttle landed just outside of the perimeter fence, offloading aa human mother and her child, the latter of which was ecstatic to see her cat was alive and well.  The tracking chip in the strange creature's neck had allowed them to track it down, but it was the wonder she'd felt at meeting her first aliens that stuck with Telpono long after.  While her parents hadn't been happy when they came out to investigate all the noise, it was far too late to undo the damage, or what they perceived as much.  Telpono would go on to find the truth of things on her own, no matter what they wanted for her.  Along the way, after hitching a ride to the nearest human settlement on an automated transport shuttle, her fascination with the Old West would be awoken, as well as her love of all things nerd and geek.  As a result of her trips into town though, it didn't take her long to figure out why they were so far from so many of their neighbors, with only other Ashenti around them.

Telpono can't count the number of arguments that soon filled her life after finding out what her people had done to those around them, what her own parents still celebrated no less and held to be the only way forward.  She was disgusted with them, her fellow Ashenti, and herself for even being Ashenti, but thankfully fate had other plans for her.  A group of rightfully angry Puazi decided to firebomb the domed community the Ashenti had set up so far from the rest of the world's colonists, forcing her family to flee with whatever they could carry to the evacuation shuttles.  Shortly after boarding the heavy cruiser that was waiting in orbit, the captain gave her a choice after listening in on her parents' arguing, very loudly, about what they planned to do next the moment they hit dirt side.  Telpono knew they were a lost cause, and agreed to the much kinder Ashenti captain's offer.  It was the last she ever saw of her folks, because Telpono was quietly transferred to another ship heading to Earth while her folks were taken far, far away to a penal colony where they were shortly and inevitably killed by the other inmates.  But it was here, on a distant blue dot on the map, that the captain's human friends were waiting for her in upper Los Angeles.  It would be here that her new human family, of which most of them were involved with protecting and serving their fellow man in some way or another, that she found a way to live with herself, and to make amends for her people's blood soaked past.  And while the actions of those Puazi hadn't particularly been very just or right, ultimately they did the galaxy a favor in the long run.

Despite still having days where she wishes she'd been one of the casualties during the initial firebombing that drove her from her home, Telpono is much happier than she's ever been thanks to her foster family instilling her with a true sense of right, wrong, and the means to see justice prevail.  Taking the oath to protect and serve right out of college and the academy was the proudest moment of her life.  Every day since, Telpono has done her utmost to honor the badge she wears, and to protect everyone she can along the way.  To do anything less is to return to what her people used to be, and she refuses to go backwards.  She'd rather eat her own gun first.

Alignment:  Lawful Good.  Lawful Good doesn't mean Stupid.  If you're a threat to sapient, intelligent life, dead or alive, you're going down.

Abilities:

• Dead Eye - Despite her parents' efforts to keep her fully Ashenti, Telpono often ran off to the holotheater where she saw dozens of Earth classics.  Whether it was a quirk of her engineered biology or something dormant in her family line, she is a crack shot with a laser pistol, and she has the speed to match any of old Earth's gunslingers from the wild west.
• Krav Maga martial arts expert - The Elysium Police Department demands the best from their officers, and Telpono is no exception.  Despite having the latest in defensive technology, she was trained extensively in self defense by a human officer several years her senior who was ex military.  As a result, she and several others are capable in taking down criminals with extreme prejudice without ever firing a shot.
• Green Thumb - While her fascination with plants was born of a desire to grow her own tobacco so she could better emulate her childhood heroes of Wyatt Earp and Billy the Kid, Telpono now keeps a few window planters and potted plants hanging around her apartment.  The section of the rooftop garden she's allowed to keep only has one row of tobacco plants for her personal use.
• Staunch Officer - When it comes to the job, you can't find a better officer.  Because of the fact she's Ashenti wanting to make amends for their past mistakes, Telpono is usually the first person into a gunfight and the last one to leave.
• Closet Nerd - On top of being an old movie buff with a preference towards old Westerns, Telpono is a bit of a closet nerd.  Everything from Firefly to Jurassic Park, she likely knows something about it.  Don't go up against her during a movie trivia night.

Flaws:

• Preserver of Life - Hostage situations are her kryptonite.  She's seen enough holovids of her people's horrific experiments against sapient life across the galaxy, and needlessly puts herself at risk to protect those same people who find themselves in harm's way.  To make it worse, not all of her people have gotten the memo that times have changed, and she still has nightmares about the 'bio lab' she helped raid shortly into her career.
• Ashenti Stigma - While the majority have made great strides to be better than those that came before, the people of the galaxy remember the raids upon their planets, the senseless destruction, the fear, the loss of those that were either killed or taken, never to be seen again.  Many still bear a deep hatred of all Ashenti, as they should in Telpono's opinion when she's at her lowest after a long, hard day.

Elysium seems like a place that would need biologists working full time, between the scratch built ecosystem and immigration of alien beings. I like the idea of writing a biologist turned xenobiologist, and I think that could hold my interest in a sci-fi setting.

That or Shadowrun-style decking. I always liked decking. Maybe both ideas could be combined into a deep web biologist, grabbing the latest research off corp pharma networks and making black market connections to keep Elysium ahead in the world.

I'd be down with that, just don't be surprised if Telpono has a few things to say about it lol.  Still, I'm perfectly fine with all kinds of sci fi stuff finding its way into this, so go nuts I say.  ;D  And think of Elysium like the Citadel from Mass Effect.  The island is able to house all kinds of people regardless of their biology, although it's thanks in no small part to people like your possible scientist.

What is dark plot participation?

Basically it's the GM controlled plot.  It usually involves Non Con, kidnapping, NPC death, things like that.  While me and whoever ends up helping out would respect Ons and Offs and all that as well as talking about possible things you might want your character to experience, it'd be just little GM events to help keep things interesting.  Anything from a simple murder mystery to something more complex, but if your character has the skills and the history for it, you might end up in a position to actively help or make things worse along the way, depending on how things go.  ;D  But it's completely optional, as I've said before, so you don't have to do anything with the Dark Plot if you'd rather not.

I'd like to invent a generic corp, Saudi Elysium Group (SEGI) to employ my character. Is that okay?

SEGI has hands in chemical, construction, manufacturing and industry, offshore oil drilling and port management, but they're also the biggest name in custom biomes. Mall landowners and Elysium land developers alike often turn to SEGI to generate lush sustainable ecosystems where barren, lifeless sand or concrete won't suffice.

But SEGI casts long shadows. Its caliphate backers regard aliens with deep suspicion and gather intelligence on the aliens in Elysium while lobbying for stricter control and tighter offworld import laws. It's been noted that SEGI employees are 99.9% human, and those few aliens employed in low level positions receive stunted benefits and may face legal troubles if they leave the corp on their own terms.

My character is not aware of any of that when the story starts.

Personality: Intellectual, detail-oriented, dreamer. Veronika is not engaged by small talk, but greets puzzles and systems with unabashed excitement and wonder. Complicated or unconventional people stir something in her, too, but nothing quite so much as a living, breathing alien.

In the biome development world, Veronika is labeled a talent, a hot commodity, but she lacks the bureaucratic acumen to take proper credit for her work. Happy but exploited, Veronika will likely remain in essentially the same position for the rest of her career, passed from corp to corp, at the mercy of any number of project leads, her salary driven by industry awards rather than ambition.

Romantically Veronika is an intellectual switch in that her role in a relationship depends on the cleverness of her partner. Coupled with a billiant mind, Veronika can slip into the role of fawning, coquettish, servile adoration. On the flip, involved with someone Veronika can predict and anticipate, a god complex seldom seen outside her data crunching and system analysis renders her very comfortable as the firm hand in the relationship.

Appearance: Slender, particularly notable in her neck, and seeming far more curvy for it. Strawberry blonde hair frames, looms over, crashes around, all but smothers a rosy face with soft cheeks, soft nose, all but vanishing under camera flash. A small mole left of her chin and below the curl of her smile draws the eye, but it's blue eyes like tourmaline or tropical sea, licked by errant wisps of blonde hair, which hold the attention.

For her time, Veronika is not immodest; the skintight and boldly-colored bodysuits which go seamless over every contour of her dramatic curves are a fashion after environmental suits and a sometimes necessity of the spacefaring world where anything more cumbersome could prevent hazard wear from sealing properly. She wears a dry, languishing floral fragrance of narcissus where she'd like to be kissed, so close that the nose must linger to detect it.

History: Veronika had a best friend throughout school, one of few close friends, and the one with whom she shared her every secret. So long as she had this confidante, Veronika did not seem to need anyone else in the world. But one day, when young Veronika told this friend a secret, the response was not what she hoped. That rejection pierced her, and a week later, Veronika knowingly humiliated her friend during class presentations. This ended the greatest friendship of her life, and has been her deepest shame and regret.

During college experimentation Veronika discovered the criminal dark web and spent many nights immersing herself in its mystique and unblinking eye on humanity. During one especially careless dive, Veronika became a witness to what proved to be a livestreamed execution. The experience badly shook her, and for several months she believed herself done with the hacking scene. But when Veronika did return, she was not as innocent as she had once been. Something had changed in her.

During a small industry award ceremony, Ms. Pusztay was recognized for her outstanding achievement In the Lovers' Bay romantic biome design. When presenting the award, one of Veronika's peers noted that "God needed seven days to create the world, but Veronika brought this together on a 72 hour time crunch." The line was met with distaste, and an oblivious Veronika did not distance herself from the remark. As a result, a reputation of arrogance now haunts her name in some circles.

• Biologist - Highly educated scientist with a focus on cells, organisms, and their interactions in an environment. Veronika has a special aptitude for connecting dots which has served her well in the emerging field of custom biome design, where unforseen reactions can be catastrophic.
• Xenobiology - Well educated on the extraterrestrial organisms known to earth, but by no means the equal of an alien scientist in her own field of study. Veronika's primary area of study is the interaction of terrestrial and alien life.

Character Ons: In the long term Veronika is attracted to intelligent women and creative women who can surprise her, but in the short term Veronika burns hot with her accomplishments and Elysium's exotic locales, craving the alien, strange, and physically intense. She flirts with her legs, and has developed an expensive taste for pegging, but there's always a plan to her lovemaking, a four or five act structure which begins with disarming romantic gesture.

Character Offs: Even as the submissive in a relationship, Veronika cannot stand to feel worthless. Approval has always been her little drug and if it's deprived or her confidence is eroded, Veronika will disappear. Humdrum intimacy and lesbian bed death are perhaps the most terrifying prospects of getting older, and she refuses to go quietly. One hard line Veronika will not concede is restrictive breast bondage, which she finds painful and risky. Anyone who would do harm to her girls as a general thing is suspect of having the wrong motives.

Well from what I can see it looks pretty good so far.  I'd say you're off to a pretty decent start myself Dhi, but if you want to have a little collab I'm all ears.  Part of games like this is to have people connect and form relationships anyway, from simple business associates to lovers, anything is possible.

From my girl's standpoint though, although she might not like it, having the occasional anonymous tip dropped into her email account from your girl could be a good way to build something more between them later.  Hell, you could even have Veronika use my girl's computer's built in webcam to get a good idea of what she's like, maybe accidentally get an eyeful of something more lol.  Just a couple of ideas I pulled out of the ether after glancing at what you got.  Feel free to make something up with that or not, but again I like what I'm seeing.

EDIT:  And you actually made me realize I should do something about Telpono's clothing and what she normally likes to be seen in public with.  Meh, I'll probably do that tomorrow after I've gotten some sleep lol.  But again, thanks Dhi and looking forward to the rest!

Age: 27

Species: A species referred to as Replapines, a name that otherwise gives away what they appear to be: Strange amalgamations of reptilians and lagomorphs. The species as a whole stand rather shortly on plantigrade clawed legs with somewhat wider hips that vary depending on ones gender, with weights that rarely exceeds  60lbs. Unlike a traditional rabbit, which would be fuzzy, Replapines are primarily coated in very soft scales with varying colors usually, but not always, tan, dark reds, or blue. Atop their heads are feather-like growths that act as 'hair' for the species, usually in colors related to blue, red, or black naturally. Much like a reptile, their eyes possess vertical slits, giving them a very different degree of sight compared to other species. Their tongues are exceptionally long, reaching anywhere from 5 to 7 inches, and colored purple. Finally, as opposed to a rabbit's tail, they have a thick and prehensile reptilian tail that can wiggle depending on the emotions its owner feels. Despite appearances, Replapines do not have skillful control over their tails, but are still capable of inserting them into places if it suits their needs. Despite all their similarities to lizards, they possess very long rabbit ears that drape down alongside or behind their heads, leaving them very floppy and giving them a cuter appearance, for better or worse. Often, the scales covering their ears match that of their body, but of a brighter color. The physical stature of Replapines is geared toward the smaller spectrum, ranging from mid 3' to low 4', and rarely ever beyond that. Oddly, all Replapines possess rather wide hips despite their genders, with females possessing the widest. Males have noticably less wide hips, but still wider than the average male human's would be.

It's unknown what planet they call their home world, but not very many seem to have made it far from it. The few that are know constantly complain about the conditions back home, be it sharing the planet with other beings or the Replapines'... Unique habits. Many have come to Elysium to not only get away from their home of decadence, but to find more prospective and interesting lives that one could not easily lead back on their home world. Many have a gift for the art of mechanics, but to call them inventors would be a fairly large stretch. Still, many try their best to learn, especially now that they don't have species constantly trying to bend them over or else invite them for fun. In the past, they often played host to new species reaching their planet, some of their people willingly following them off the homeworld in curiosity. What happened to these brave souls, no one knows, but many hoped they found what they were looking for. Within Elysium, considered a treasure trove of infinite possibility to the Replapines, they're eager to see how far they can advance within a new environment with so many other new species.

Replapine sexuality is often a subject those around Elysium wish to not engage in conversation regarding. Due to their small sizes and oddly cute appearances, many don't believe that they're capable of it, but they possess monstrous sex drives that could shame even the most prolific whores. Rapidly breeding to the point of causing resources on their planet to lean toward the lower end of scarce, those aboard Elysium have taken to utilizing a sort of Inhibitor built into a device on their arms that restricts their sexual activities and urges to make them 'worksafe' for a lack of better terminology. Rendering them nonsexual, they're able to properly engage other species in more normal and civil conversations without the thought of breeding ever crossing their mind, let alone feeling surges of lust that could debilitate them. However, the power supplies must be changed every three months, or else Replapines will lapse back into their self-proclaimed perverse habits of riding anything that moves and has a friendly disposition, among other things.

Replapines hardly have anything close to a belief system, preferring to see everything scientifically. There are no gods to them, just forerunners that came from the furthest reaches of space that cracked the mysteries of DNA and creationism and went about the universe creating new and wildly unusual species using methods so advanced that even modern day civilization is still catching up to. Whether this is true or not is unknown, but it is the prime story Replapines believe over the thought of one being above all creating everything else around them, including itself, from nothingness. Space is an infinite, unknown universe, and no one being knows how truly vast it is: Whatever species created everything else simply came to their universe from another. Despite holding these thoughts in mind, they do respect the religious beliefs of other species, knowing better than to try and say otherwise knowing that many a war has been started over something so trivial.

Job: Mechanic, Engineer

Personality: Anyone who knows him also knows he can be an eccentric fellow. Despite his size, he's proud, boisterous, borderline mad for science and engineering, and often times a little too proud. he has his good qualities, however, just that they're sometimes overshadowed by, or else ignored in favor of, his less desirable qualities. He's a very focused and dedicated being, never settling for okay or acceptable or even nice. If he works on something, it must be 'awesome', 'incredible', or 'gamechanging', feats that usually elude him more often than not but ones he never fails to always pursue. Thanks to the fact he doesn't need to worry about his libido, he's able to allocate much more brain power to the scientific and engineering front, be it for personal amusement or the betterment of life in Elysium. Every so often he can be solicited to come out for a drink or join in games, being one of the few times he can unwind and relax without slaving over his workbench.

Appearance:  Despite being among one of the taller of his species, he still stands at a small 4'3, even smaller than the average female. As a Replapine, much of his body's scaling is blue in color, with tan colors along the scaling on his chest, belly, and groin. His 'hair' is a grayish-black color with white tips, often times hanging over his eyes but kept upright with a bandanna when at work. For his species, his figure made an attempt to go onto the more physically powerful side, but it can only compare to somewhat lean or slim by human standards save for his hips, which would perhaps shame even human females due to possessing more wideness than the average girl. despite being narrower than the average Replapinian girl. When 'naked', no identifiable phallus can be seen, though it is merely tucked away in a pouch along with his scrotum, as is common for Replapinian males. This tends to give them a slightly more rounded appearance between their legs and less prone to awkward appearances in public. Rounding out this weird creature is a striking purple coloring, seen only on the insides of his ears, his nipples, and finally his phallus.

Due to his unusual make, clothing is often difficult for him to find, and has necessitated contacting clothing store owners and makers to develop uniquely-fitted clothes for him. It's become a bit of a hassle, but when the alternative is strolling around Elysium naked and getting fined, he prefers to pay extra for the comfort and security. The only articles of clothing he personally owns are differently designed fitted suits, one of the only things he can personally make as each possesses their own technological spins on things. Some are made for exploration in aquatic environments, some for zero-G environments, others are treated for heat resistance, and at least one is a general purpose outfit for walking around Elysium with until he gets more civilian clothing.

History: Life back on Rallakh's homeworld would be considered normal for Rallakh but weird for pretty much every other species that visited. As a species they were very open and accepting of visitors... Perhaps a little too accepting. Due to their rampant nature to want to fool around with any friendly species that visited their world, and their unique physiologies, they either made others feel welcome to stay or drove them off for their debauch lifestyles. Rallakh was always keenly aware of this, and often remained a shut-in to avoid falling into the same habits as his species. His parents were surprisingly caring, and living proof that other Replapinians could follow a more monogamous lifestyle instead of trying to screw anything that accepted them... But in return, not a day went by that they didn't rock the boat at least four times, and to this end Rallakh is the oldest of nine other siblings. Wishing to one day leave his planet and wander the stars for a new lease on life, he carefully bided his time, investigating visitors to his planet to gauge how easy it would be to sneak off. Throughout the years, others managed to leave the planet before he did, perhaps leading their own lives away from a slowly decaying planet like theirs.

Rallakh couldn't always be a shut-in forever, however. On rare occasions he would take trips outside of his household, explore the surrounding regions and feel as if he was leading his own grand adventure. Among one such of these excursions did he come across one of his species natural predators, a Wastestalker. Aptly named for growing up in the harsh wasteland regions surrounding their settlement, these rabid beasts often corners and killed misfortunate Replapinians that wandered into their areas of influence, but the one he discovered was little more than a lost infant. Feeling sorry for the small creature, Rallakh brought it home to raise in complete secrecy, trying to discern feeding habits and see what he could raise the creature on instead of the flesh of his people. As they were discovered to be primarily carnivorous, Rallakh instead introduced the creature to some of the salted meats they came to purchase from other species that visited their planet, a meal with the young Wastestalker took kindly to. With their bond properly formed, the young Replapinian raised the creature to be a valiant guard dog for the family, chasing off errant members of their species looking to try and involve themselves with his family for uncouth reasons. Ever since this discovery, others have been working to try and domesticate Wastestalkers, and while it's proven successful, there are still wild ones out there that exist to keep their population under control.

Over the years, as more visitors reached their planet, Rallakh notified his family of his plans and where he wished to go, traveling space with other crews and witnessing life beyond their planet. Expecting them to be resistant to his choice, they instead encouraged him to leave, knowing he never took kindly to the ways of their planet, and even went so far as to deny he ever felt them himself. Accepting his choice to leave, he traveled with his faithful Wastestalker companion to one of the Freighters that arrived on his planet, and made to stow away due to an inability to pay for rightful passage off the planet. Wandering through space was truly the most profound feeling he'd ever experienced, finally able to see an atmosphere beyond his home planet, and even the other stars near it. Curiosity struck him as to wonder where he was going, but he could never hope to guess just where he was headed. Within space there was a distant blue star, where a bipedal species existed that initially did not take kindly to the presence of those that were outside of their species and culture. However, as the time went on they eventually opened themselves up to coexistence with those not of their world, and together they made a flourishing utopia where they could co-exist evenly.

This... Was Elysium.

Once they touched down on the beautiful planet known as Earth, Rallakh and his faithful companion quietly disembarked the ship's holds and joined up in taking in the sights of the immaculate mega-city, a pinnacle of creationist designs and advanced technology that awakened feelings of profound surprise and happiness in the Replapinian. Unfortunately, it also seemed to awaken a latent feeling he'd long since forgotten about: A deep-rooted lust that seemed to have hit him differently than his other species. Rather than simply desire to become involved with anyone from his species, his interests instead began to manifest in the wake of a myriad of other alien species in this one massive city. Fortunately for him, he was helped by a fellow Replapinian that saw his anguish and fitted his suit with a specialized Inhibitor to reel in his urges. As it turned out, others of his species had made it here before him and, like him, did not want to jeopardize their chances of a new life by screwing it away, quite literally. With the schematics in hand, Rallakh was able to suppress the undesirable side of himself and focused on registering as an official citizen of Elysium. Along with himself, he gained a special permit for his Wastestalker to represent legal ownership of such a bizarre and unusual creature, but was asked to make sure it stayed on a leash to keep it out of trouble.

Life in Elysium would certainly go on to change the young Replapinian, who became so involved with the aspects of technology that he sought to make a living off of it. learning from mechanics, scientists, technologists, and others in their respective fields of expertise, he wanted to become one of the first of his species to bring these unique and amazing gifts back to his home world, to hopefully change their lives for the better. Of course, not all life in Elysium is kind... But he's ready to deal with whatever dangers may face him, refusing to give up his spot in life now that he's managed to attain it.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral - He's a thinker, a tinkerer, and a maker. He'll make the things he likes whether they're what the world at large wants or not, simply because he feels he can and wishes to test himself. He may not go out of his way to help you much unless he really knows you, but there are still occurences that will make him help whether he does or not. Truly evil things and the people that commit them do not escape his eyes when possible, but he otherwise leaves good and well enough alone when it comes to personal interests. He's living it up for his whims, his desires, and his future... His and everyone from his planet.

Abilities:

• Mechanical Mayhem - Rallakh considers himself a wizard when it comes to messing with the mechanical and cybernetic. A cut above other Replapines as an engineer, he's not only able to tinker with machinery to create new things, but is capable of writing anywhere from simple to more complex AI scripts. While his creations are a little more questionable, he has the utmost confidence in the cybernetic lives he can potentially create,
• Longjumper - Much like a traditional rabbit, Rallakh is capable of clearing surprising distances when making leaps. he often trains himself finding areas populated with many interweaving pipes to make sure his jumping never suffers.
• The Bigger, The Better - Rallakh has a saying: 'Dream Big, Make Bigger', and often it shows in his creations. While capable of using small or simple weapons, he enjoys making ones that seem more popular with military forces. When these designs are successful enough, he sometimes sells them to military and peacekeeping forces within Elysium. he keeps his personal favorites back at the workshop, however, and many of them seem almost unusual when handled by him... But for your sake, don't ever give him a reason to level one at you. The recoil might knock him back, but the punch will knock 'em dead.
• Man's Best Friend - Not a personal ability of his, but he possesses a creature known as a Wastestalker, a critter that's been known to attack and kill Replapines back on their homeworld out in the wastelands. Having raised his from a pup, it's become his best friend and often helps him navigate the otherwise large city-island of Elysium. He's been forced to get a Special Permit for it, but it is unquestioningly docile unless Rallakh is in trouble. Back at shop, visitors are usually forced to surrender their weapons to make sure the creature does not attack.

Flaws:

• It's all Conceptual! - Rallakh LOVES making things, but sometimes they don't always work out. Often times they may fail to work, or even explode on him. Nevertheless, he continues to work on their designs until he can correct their flaws, or completely dismantles them if they're impossible to rework.
• Shameful Display - It's no secret that he's ashamed of his species as a whole for their actions and interactions with species native or not to their planet. More than them, however, he's ashamed of himself for not being able to figure out a way to completely nullify it, thus leaving him capable of falling into the same trap as his species. The day that happens, he expects to be put down.

EDIT:  I will say that after your character is up that we go back to more humanoid aliens if at all possible please and thank you.  I don't mind but again, I'm hoping to stay away from the more monster girl types since there's plenty of other games where that's well established and even encouraged.

As for the Dark Plot that's in the works Jeflint, I honestly don't have much of a plan at the present time other than litlte incidents involving various players.  Maybe someone starts shooting up your bar for some reason or someone tracks down Dhi's girl to exact a bit of justice of their own, or someone from SEGI pays her a visit for her hacking activities.  That and I can't do much of a Dark Plot until we get a full group anyway because it'll depend on who we get and who'd be willing to get involved in the first place anyway.

I'd like to work on an alien too, but, the difference between alien ladies and the monster girls you say you don't want is to my mind razor thin. What are you looking for specifically when it comes to aliens?

Just more humanoid aliens mostly.  If they have slight animal like traits like the puazi and their cow like ears and horns, that's one thing and something I'd be more than alright with.  If it's a more straight up lizard person, that kinda is where I draw the line if that makes sense since it strays a bit too closely to monster girl stuff.  So just more humanoid like people if that helps.  Anything from the Imogen from the show Defiance, to something a bit more exotic like the Luxan or the Pilots, (also called Servicers), from Farscape.  So while the Pilots are a quite strange in appearance, they're still at least loosely humanoid in appearance, at least in my opinion they fit what I'm looking for if that helps.

I don't understand where the sweet spot lies and it makes me afraid to try to create an alien. Between an alien who's just a woman of unusual color and a Farscape pilot there's a great rift of difference you could conceivably fit just about any kind of monster girl into, and vice versa, could disqualify anything as being too like a monster girl. I don't know what could pass veto.

When I think of monster girl, I typically jump to those seen in Monster Musune and what have you.  Aliens in general would be fine, so long as they don't look like anime knockoffs of the kind you'd see in anime is really what it amounts to lol.  Sorry if I seem to be a bit picky about that, but as I said before, there's plenty of other games where monster girls are readily accepted, even encouraged.  There are PLENTY of aliens you can choose from across the board and I'd more than likely be okay with it.  If it helps, you can send a few pics my way or post them here of whatever you're thinking about before getting a profile started.

Lizard aliens are easy to find, I'm pretty sure there's at least two in Star Wars alone that popped up in the Clone Wars about midway through the series, but it's when they look like something that'd fit in an anime that I'd have a problem.  Furries are good too as a substitute, but not this.

Aliens should look like aliens, even the most 'human' of them still have SOMETHING otherworldly about them.  Monster girls though are too 'human' even when they have wings, horns, and whatever else that makes them what they are.  Does that help?  :D

Lol while I actually DID like Surrogates, the idea of uploading your brain into a robot body like that seems just a LITTLE too farfetched even for me to easily accept.  Cyborgs, androids, things like that I'm all for, but Surrogates?  I'd believe VR technology so real you swear its the real thing rather than a bunch of ones and zeroes first and foremost since you're still in your own body, more or less, yet something about jacking your brain into another body entirely is just....bleh lol.

But other than that one aspect, you can certainly have robots wandering around, AI or just simple VI constructs, people with cyborg parts, whatever comes to mind.  ;D

As she grew older though things began to change. She couldn't help it honestly, but an independent streak began to emerge, one that was more than a bit rebellious and willing to engage in the things that the city had to offer. She didn't do anything truly stupid, but there were some close scrapes, and some that were even closer than her parents found out about. Eventually there was an intervention, and she was put back on to a relatively straight path, one that channeled her energy into more friendly pursuits. This was around the time when she began to learn martial arts, among other things.

Eventually she went off to college, and things seemed to swing back the other way. Her relationship with her parents deteriorated to the point where contact was basically nonexistent, and her relationship with her siblings wasn't much better. She did manage to graduate whilst running with parts of the wrong crowd, if only because she wasn't completely as stupid as she had been in the past. But then she ran into the brick wall of Elysium. Unless you had technical skills or were specialized, it was actually kind of hard to find a job with how many people were there, and with automation as it was.

But those ties she had made came in handy at last, and she was able to find some odd jobs that tided her over until she could get something more stable. She refused to rely on her parents or turn to them for help, determined to succeed on her own efforts. That she did, more or less, and now here we are

Her main employment is for a shipping company that delivers across Elysium, but she gets supplemental income as a runner/courier for those who might need such a service. The hours are weird and the job is fast paced, but she doesn't mind at all

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral - She doesn't think of herself as particularly good or evil, but considering some of the stuff she does, she doesn't want to go to jail

• Kickboxing - A stand up combat style based around both punching and kicking, like Muay Thai and full contact karate. This is Vivian's main style of fighting
• Parkour - A practiced style of movement based on getting from one point to another as quickly and as efficiently as possible without assistive equipment.
• Navigation - Vivian has an acute sense of direction that extended in three dimensions as a result of her typical activities, even without using GPS or the like
• Painting - Most of the time this doesn't consist of tagging or graffiti, but Vivian does have some skill in regular paiting as well.
• Lockpicking - The ability to pick locks. Because sometimes clients leave their doors locked. Honest.

• Pride - She's very confident in her abilities, and may not pull back because of it until it's too late

The Brothel further modified Felicia to make her form far more pleasing for men, little was done to make her more appealing to women and so her phallus and testicles remind small and unused mostly, she was given a greatly enhanced curvy figure and sold by the hour for others pleasure.

Eventually Felicia with the help of an inattentive guard was able to escape and stole the brothel passcodes for the banks. Felicia drained the banks and set about teaching herself as much as she could learn about the universe. It was a mistake as Felicia was not one to go down easily. She got up and killed the rival crew the following night, but not without first learning who had told the punk her passcode.

The name of her species is more directly related to the sound of their language than anything self-identified by the Sig’rill themselves. When speaking to each other underwater all that can be heard is shrills, screeches, vibrations, and clicking vocalizations. They have adapted to become semi-aquatic and therefore do have a spoken and written language much easier on the ears. Intensely curious as a race they propelled themselves out of the water and among the starts – priding themselves with knowledge and intelligence above all else. (Unless you challenge them to a swimming race, then you might see an innate passion and competitive streak.)

Gender: Female

Sexual Orientation & Status: Bisexual / Non-Virgin / Single

Job: Historian / Archivist at the Elysium Historical and Cultural Museum on The Mall

Personality: Pra’leet is a classic intellectual but with a headstrong confidence that helps push past some of her natural tendencies to just hide beyond a book. Her first interest is learning and that makes her socially curious – even if it puts her into awkward spots. Her interpersonal relationship skills are a little less refined. She has been intimate before in her life and doesn’t rule out any gender or species when it comes attraction. Her heart is a little colder than most however and it can take some time to get her out of her own way.

Appearance: Pra’leet’s people fit in worse in the world of Elysium than most other alien species but better than some would suspect. Standing over six feet tall Pra’leet is at an average height and weight for her people. Slender and lithe she seems to float even when not full immersed in water.
Eyes: Dark blue/black with large pupils they are accustomed to low light situations and she wears contact lenses that act like sunglasses – tinting everything with a shift in color that takes the edge off of Earth’s bright sunlight.
Skin: Made to spend much of a lifetime in liquid her skin feels akin to that of a dolphin but is thinner and more flexible. As the Sig’rill are semi-aquatic she does have pores to help with temperature regulation but they allow more out than in and so her skin has a water-repellant quality that allows her to be almost dry once she leaves the water.
“Hair”: While Pra’leet has long locks that hang behind her when she is on land it is not typical hair as a human has. More like soft filaments that are attached together with a common central thread – it can be touched and styled but not separated into individual growing strands.
Gills: Her species have two sets of gills – behind her ears and along her collarbone. This allows them to breathe underwater while still having their head out of the water. They also have a set of lungs though newly emigrated Sig’rill coming to Elysium must go through meditation like training to learn to automatically use and rely heavily on their lungs.
Ears/Tendrils:They look almost elven but actually they act more like a mix of a bat and a snail. They are split in two – the outer spinney section can detect toxins and ‘taste’ what is around her underwater. The inner sections can turn and rotate independently to catch bouncing sounds. The tendrils sticking up on the sides of her head help to test temperature but can also act like a mood guide. They change color and can become limp if she is greatly stressed or upset.
Fingers/Toes:Unlike the fictional mermaid Pra’leet’s race have two long legs instead of a tail. Her toes are completely webbed to help with adept and streamlined swimming. A culture that prides itself on building and collecting knowledge they have evolved to shed their completely webbed fingers. The bottom half-inch between their fingers still have dark blue/dark green colored webbing but serve little modern purpose and do not hinder finger flexibility.

Her parents were renowned professors and she was destined to follow in their footsteps. (Well except for that one year in school when she got her tendril's pierced and her parents were sure she was going to shame the family to the bottom fathoms of the ocean.) But after the rings were taken out and Pra'leet's ship was set back on course.

While at university on her homeworld, she studied water poor planetary systems and ecology. She wanted to understand how life existed in places that were completely antithetical to the existence of her peoples. At the end of her schooling back on her home world she was given the option of traveling with a mixed species expedition vessel. Boldly going to crazy-ass places throughout the universe Pra'leet was most excited to visit a world of what might be called 'fire demons' - the plant was tidally locked with its sun and so the beings lived off the energy and heat.

Ultimately that voyage was stranded on a more habitable world on route when the ship was hit by a solar flare. It was soon picked up along the way by one of the initial colony vessels that docked at Earth. Pra’leet was one of only a handful of her species on board but she soon found her niche - able to help the Captain translate for the various alien species aboard. (And she was cheap labor - all she asked for was permanent access to his tub! That may or may not have lead to something more but she won't tell - unless you ask her about something clinical and brainy and she might spill a detail or two accidentally.)

She was among the first few waves of colony aliens to come down to Earth and settle in Elysium. Her first year was simply trying to find a way to survive in such a ‘dry’ place (seriously 3/4th of a planet covered in water is nothing – her homeworld was 7/8th liquid) and to learn the languages around her. She found her favorite spot on this new home in the fountain at a local library. After absorbing all the knowledge and material they had to offer - she soon found herself employed at a prestigious cultural and historical museum on the Mall. A few more years (and a tryst with a local restaurant hostess) Pra'leet is now in charge of documenting new intelligent species that have arrived at Elysium and to catalogue information and artifacts of all kinds. She spends most of her time in the archives or out hunting down new cultural artifacts to add to the museum's collection. (And if she is not working she is usually dragging her work compatriot Gerald out to local bars and social events so she can pick his brain about how this world and its people work.)

Alignment: Lawful Neutral – Interested in study and learning all about the host culture of Earth (as well as the other alien races that have inhabited Elysium) she is much more apt to study the social mechanisms behind illegal activities than to try and stop them from happening.

Abilities:

• Depth & Movement Perception – While they work best in low light, her eyes have the ability to focus on very small movements and almost zoom in across great distances.
• Echolocation – Both underwater and on land she can use sound to create mental maps of locations even in the dark and from very far away.

The name of her species is more directly related to the sound of their language than anything self-identified by the Sig’rill themselves. When speaking to each other underwater all that can be heard is shrills, screeches, vibrations, and clicking vocalizations. They have adapted to become semi-aquatic and therefore do have a spoken and written language much easier on the ears. Intensely curious as a race they propelled themselves out of the water and among the starts – priding themselves with knowledge and intelligence above all else. (Unless you challenge them to a swimming race, then you might see an innate passion and competitive streak.)

Job: Historian / Archivist at the Elysium Historical and Cultural Museum on The Mall

Personality: Pra’leet is a classic intellectual but with a headstrong confidence that helps push past some of her natural tendencies to just hide beyond a book. Her first interest is learning and that makes her socially curious – even if it puts her into awkward spots. Her interpersonal relationship skills are a little less refined. She has been intimate before in her life and doesn’t rule out any gender or species when it comes attraction. Her heart is a little colder than most however and it can take some time to get her out of her own way.

Appearance: Pra’leet’s people fit in worse in the world of Elysium than most other alien species but better than some would suspect. Standing over six feet tall Pra’leet is at an average height and weight for her people. Slender and lithe she seems to float even when not full immersed in water.
Eyes: Dark blue/black with large pupils they are accustomed to low light situations and she wears contact lenses that act like sunglasses – tinting everything with a shift in color that takes the edge off of Earth’s bright sunlight.
Skin: Made to spend much of a lifetime in liquid her skin feels akin to that of a dolphin but is thinner and more flexible. As the Sig’rill are semi-aquatic she does have pores to help with temperature regulation but they allow more out than in and so her skin has a water-repellant quality that allows her to be almost dry once she leaves the water.
“Hair”: While Pra’leet has long locks that hang behind her when she is on land it is not typical hair as a human has. More like soft filaments that are attached together with a common central thread – it can be touched and styled but not separated into individual growing strands.
Gills: Her species have two sets of gills – behind her ears and along her collarbone. This allows them to breathe underwater while still having their head out of the water. They also have a set of lungs though newly emigrated Sig’rill coming to Elysium must go through meditation like training to learn to automatically use and rely heavily on their lungs.
Ears/Tendrils:They look almost elven but actually they act more like a mix of a bat and a snail. They are split in two – the outer spinney section can detect toxins and ‘taste’ what is around her underwater. The inner sections can turn and rotate independently to catch bouncing sounds. The tendrils sticking up on the sides of her head help to test temperature but can also act like a mood guide. They change color and can become limp if she is greatly stressed or upset.
Fingers/Toes:Unlike the fictional mermaid Pra’leet’s race have two long legs instead of a tail. Her toes are completely webbed to help with adept and streamlined swimming. A culture that prides itself on building and collecting knowledge they have evolved to shed their completely webbed fingers. The bottom half-inch between their fingers still have dark blue/dark green colored webbing but serve little modern purpose and do not hinder finger flexibility.

I've just been informed by a friend of mine that we might be full up on morally gray types of people, mostly of the criminal persuasion lol.  After glancing at the character sheets and seeing just how many hackers and crime bosses and stuff we have, even if they're mostly decent people, I'd have to agree.

Age: 18

Species:  Letni - Originating on the planet Lefnine, which in the leading local dialect means 'ground'. Letni were force evolved by the Radkin, bread for infiltration, espionage, assassination and close protection the species as a whole is sentient down to the cellular level, though each individual cell is intelligent in only a very rudimentary these base building blocks communicate and co-operate with each other to make up the whole of each individual. The more mass a Letni has the more mental processing they are able to bring to bear, though due to complications arising from weight and mass they are not, at least in Earth gravity, able to maintain more than around three hundred pounds in weight or over about six and one half feet in height without having serious integrity issues. Letni cells are able to re-arrange themselves at the will of the whole, to accommodate new shapes and take on new bodily configurations. If they sample other living forms by touch they are able to copy them well enough to fool biometric, spectographic, laser ranging and other forms of physical sensing. However telepathic species will find the Letni very strange as their distributed minds come across as billions of tiny voices all talking at once, sometimes in concert, sometimes not. Changing shape is a simple matter for a trained Letni once they are aware of their nature as a gestalt entity with this ability, but without training can take some time to master. This ability extends to producing convincing copies of almost all fabrics but most especially natural fibres and other biological cloth elements. Metallic pieces such as buttons, eyelets or zippers can be 'faked' but will not pass close inspection.
Letni are able to ingest most organic compounds through touch and though they can 'eat' normally have no real need to as they are capable of simply 'sucking' whatever they need nutrition wise though any exposed skin and process/absorb it at leisure. Waste is processed and excreted where necessary yet Letni bodies are really very efficient and require generally less sustenance than most other species.
In their native form Letni are slightly stronger with slightly higher reaction time compared to a baseline human, their eyesight and sense of smell is usually fairly acute however their hearing is not able to pick up the full lower range that a human is able to and bass notes are often lost on them. They are able to perceive infra-red and ultra-violet wavelengths.
Letni are capable of being dismembered without serious effect but the various component parts of the organism will immediately go into a panic mode as the 'link' between all of the cells in the whole is severed and will seek to re-establish the connection as quickly as they can. Often taking on the form of intermediate organisms to do so and following pheromone scent trails to re-assemble themselves. This can of course be exploited. Letni are extremely vulnerable to burning and very high temperatures in general, though they are slightly more able to deal with the cold than a baseline human.

Personality: Freya is an observer, a watcher, someone who takes the time to see the lay of the land before making a move, not quick to judge. Freya is fun and sarcastic with people that are well liked. She is an information sponge and is extremely happy when she is learning something new. Challenges that tax her mentally are seen as something to be sought after and overcome. Freya is generally easygoing and not quick to anger, she is of the opinion that all creatures have a right to exist and that one beings rights end where another's begin. She is practical and creative and likes to read and write, especially fantasy fiction.

Appearance:  Freya's appearance is somewhat changeable given her nature, however due to circumstances since she is not currently aware of her own native appearance she tends to present as a human female in her late teens. Around five foot in height, with dark brown hair and dark blue eyes, Freya tends towards dark colours and modest clothes. She wears spectacles, but as an affectation not because she needs them, she refers to these as her 'brainy specs'. Her practicality is reflected in her dress sense, often she is seen wearing army surplus fashions such as army boots and military greatcoats. Her long hair is often worn in pigtails or down flowing to just above the small of her back. Freya doesn't wear much jewellery but is often seen with a necklace of choker. She is often wearing a t-shirt for some band of other, frequently this is something truly obscure.

History: It is unknown how Freya wound up on the planet, leave alone how, as a baby, she was left in human form in a basket outside 'Our Lady of Mercy' in Singleton, West Sussex, England. Having been found and taken in, the story on the subject on the local media soon found her being taken in by a very nice couple living in a converted sixteenth century barn just outside of the village of her discovery. Barren, the couple had determined that they were to adopt a few hours before the story showed up on the TV and both Martha and Steven agreed that this was clearly a message from someone that this was the baby for them, though discussions were many and various as to just who was sending said message. Having been adopted Freya was given her name and found herself a few years later growing up in the rolling countryside of rural Sussex.

She attended some very nice schools, first the local infants school from five to eight, then on to secondary school from eight to eleven. High school was at an all girls school in Chichester, her parents moved the family to a house on the outskirts of town to accommodate this. It was late in high school the trouble started.

Freya was normal for a girl of her age, so it seemed, she had developed as a human girl should, though she was thin and fast on her feet and fairly sharp, she didn't have nearly the same issues with her 'cycle' other girls her age did. This was put down in her own mind to excellent luck and her slight frame, but when the dreams started soon after her fifteenth birthday she began to get the impression something was wrong. In those dreams she wasn't always a girl, sometimes she was a boy, sometimes she was something in between, other times she was an alien and in a scant few of those dreams she was able to switch from one to another at will. The dreams set her mind to racing and each time she had them she would awake with her heart racing and her mind on fire with the sheer possibilities if this could be made real, if she could actually have these abilities. Coupled with raging hormones and an interest in the girls around her at school and the boys in her neighbourhood fifteen was a confusing time.

Sixteen came and as she sped through her exams and out the other side, to the end of school she awoke one day to a particularly vivid dream of having changed into a boy to find that the dream wasn't entirely inaccurate. Her hands were bigger than they would normally be and she had more body hair on her forearms than was normal, panic set in and Freya locked herself in her room, blowing off friends and parents and sitting staring in horror at the reality of her body for pretty much the whole day.

The hands were still there come the end of the day, despite all efforts to mentally wish them away, and Freya was finally forced to show her parents what had happened. There followed some very invasive medical examinations, which culminated in the inevitable conclusion that Freya was not your common or garden human as was previously believed. She was an alien and one that was not previously known on the planet. Where she had come from and what she was, what she was capable of, was quite up in the air.

Freya's world had been turned inside out, upside down, and stomped on repeatedly by Lady Fate, she was quite tempted to go a little insane, yet found that she really could not. After a week of 'man hands' she went to sleep one night and woke up herself again, but still the dreams of changing shape persisted.

Her parents, who were fairly well off decided that their beloved daughter deserved some answers to the obvious questions of her life and provenance and so decided to move the whole family out to Elysium. They could both still work their normal jobs from wherever they were on the planet thanks to telepresence and from there they would be more likely to find answers as that was the spot with the most off planet visitors.

Freya was enrolled in a school in Elysium, as high school in North America does NOT end at seventeen as it does in the UK, and found herself in a world filled with strange creatures and people not of her own adoptive world. There had only been one alien girl at her old High School and she just had golden skin and prehensile hair so she was just, well, kinda exotic and sexy. This was something of a culture shock.

Practising changing her shape and grasping her nature as a gestalt entity made up of sentient cells is an ongoing process the former Freyay is making slow progress with, the latter is a topic that she hasn't even the merest idea of. She has always thought the way she does, with all the voices in her head reaching consensus and then acting and assumes that all people think the same way.

Alignment: Selfish Unprincipled (The DnD alignment system never made any sense to me and one of the few things I like about Palladium is it's take on things there)

Abilities:

• Shapeshifting - As detailed above Letni are capable of changing their shape quickly and at will, their form seeming to 'flow' as they re-align their cells into a new shape, texture, colour or form. Though Freya currently is only at the very beginning of understanding her ability in this and isn't very good at it at all.
• Third sex - Though brought up to be a girl to match her biology, Freya has always felt mentally somewhere between or apart from traditional gender roles and is comfortable and content with either.
• Heightened senses - Letni possess heightened sight and smell, seeing sharper, further and into wavelengths that normal humans cannot. Their sense of smell is very acute and they are on par with bloodhounds in this regard.
• Quick Study - Freya has a natural affinity for learning, especially language, logic, mechanics, electronics and materials. She picks up information quickly, particularly from reading, lectures or practical demonstration and enjoys the process of exploring new ideas and concepts.
• Stealthy - Freya is able to move extremely quietly and does this subconsciously most of the time, she doesn't mean to but often finds herself inadvertently sneaking up on people.

Flaws:

• Inexperienced - Freya hasn't really had a boyfriend or a girlfriend, has little idea of her ability to change shape, doesn't know what she is species wise and what that means and her true identity and family is shrouded in mystery.
  The reasons she was stranded on Earth, if they came to light, could be quite detrimental.
• Letni physical drawbacks - Freya's species are quite vulnerable to heat and burning and their hearing is somewhat lacking in the base range. Letni can be easily scent blinded by extremely powerful scents and Freya does not enjoy perfumes.

Also Mayo?  Holy crap!  I am curious about her alignment only because I'm not familiar with the term, but I do agree with you about the D&D system, it's a bit too black and white or just plain nonsensical in some cases, but it's also what I'm familiar with lol.  But overall she looks pretty awesome.  You simply need a couple pictures and you'd be good to go.  And as much as you might not like D&D, a doppelganger from their extensive list of demons and monsters might be the way to go for her 'true' form, if she has one I mean lol.  I am however going to ask you to make her 18 at the bare minimum unfortunately.  I know site rules say 16 is the absolute lowest, but I get uncomfortable with anything below 18.  Sorry to be a bother Mayo.

I've been thinking about playing the first guy I've written in a long time and making him an android, a fully sentient one to be precise.  Possibly even one of the first to obtain full rights as a sapient being rather than a tool to be replaced when parts go bad.  Might even make it so he's a famous club owner in the better parts of the Black Hole.  While he'd be running a club devoted to catering to people's kinks and stuff on the surface, really he's made a safe haven for runaways or other androids like himself who need a hand getting their lives together again, or simply started as the case might be.  This would be once second characters are allowed of course, but I'm wondering what you guys think of my late night insanity lol.

At any rate, we're still accepting most characters, and while I'd like a few more guys, I won't flat out refuse more women either.  See ya!

I probably should have done this from the start, but I think I'm gonna open this to second characters now.  We've gotten a fair amount of activity already and it's been pretty decent all told, but we could always use a few more people.  For now though, if anyone wants to make a second character that's already got someone, feel free to do so now.  It's the same routine as the first, so just post 'em here or PM them to me as you like.

Personality: For someone working in the EPD, you would think Kiel has a more work-focused mind... Though you would be partly wrong. Kiel hasn't lost sight of his fun-loving and often times joking behavior, though he knows when he needs to get serious and drop all acts. Considered one of the EPD's more popular figures due to an outgoing and friendly persona, he nevertheless accepts he won't get nearly as much recognition as those who pull more than three times their weight, metaphorically speaking. He's the sort of officer you wouldn't see at a desk dealing with paperwork, for fear of turning them into paper airplanes. He'd much rather be on the streets, busting bad guys and knocking back beers on his time off. Not one to shy away from darker areas, he'll hang out wherever good food, drinks, games, and girls will chill. Has recently suffered a major injury that people feel will have changed his personality, though he still seems to be the same old Kiel.

When he needs to get serious, he tends to get serious. Where most officers would be afraid to use force, he doesn't hesitate in the slightest to knock the deserving down a peg, physically if needed. Often times, due to his excessive use of it, he's put on reserve until the truly deserving are up to recieve it. To him, he feels he's doing what needs to be done, else giving the enemy an inch lets them take a mile. He's been hit with a suspension once for it, though he neither regrets his actions nor dwells on it. instead playing to the rules the department sets for him. Despite these minor personality setbacks, he still feels himself a pretty good guy, definitely looser than alot of the other stiffs on the force (Loose being used broadly considering he's had past flings).

Appearance:  Kiel stands at a fairly tall 6'1, with a weight of 172 lbs. His hair is primarily colored black, save for a large patch being colored white, leading to him being called a skunk jokingly, though sometimes also derogatorily. His physical profile is fairly above average, featuring well-toned muscle and chiseled abs that he didn't mind showing off at one point, though after his latest mission is much more hesitant to show it now. As it stands, his somewhat tanned self now features numerous scars where surgeries were needed to be performed to properly mitigate the damage done before it became severe. His artificial arm is chrome in color, and though it often looks like it starts from the middle of his arm, it actually begins from the shoulder. One scar that was always present even before he joined the force was a slash mark across the bridge of his nose, something incurred from long before.

History: Many stories of Kiel's origins are spoken by coworkers and others, tales of his arrival from some distant planet where explosions occured at every hour, and you couldn't do anything without it being positively explosive... Or stories of how a can of whoop-ass was opened and poured into a pot of badass stew, and he promptly rose up from it. Naturally the stories couldn't be faker, however, his true origins hailing from the eastern reaches of the United States. Even growing up, he was no stranger to merriment and hilarity, and often made sure he had equal doses of both in his day to day life, whether he was at home or going to school. He often went down in his yearbooks as the class clown, but he still managed to do his work and earn some respect for it, where being called the Class Clown was more a sign of respect than anything spoken against him. Even from a young age, he was always fascinated with law enforcement, telling himself he would one day join them.

His life was mostly unimpressive, though he enjoyed befriending aliens as much as he did humans, finding them exotic and cool. Some of his earliest crushes even turned out to be species from beyond the stars, though nothing really came of them. After all, growing up meant your first signs of love were usually just puppy love, whether it was a student or your hot school nurse. His life was nothing short of interesting and fun growing up, and he feels if he were allowed to relieve it, he totally would. However, as life goes on, he would slowly work his way into adulthood, where time to play came considerably less. College was rough, taught by collections of even the most tight-assed teachers to ensure their students were ready for the future. All work and no play left Kiel a boring man, however, and so when free moments of time came up in his life, he invited many others to large get-togethers to party and forget their worries. It was one of these events that marked the first time Kiel ever got laid, but he can barely remember what happened. However, it was thanks to events like these that he made it through college life without going stir crazy, ultimately graduating and left able to look for what he wanted to do in life.

His dream lay in the once-mythical lands of Elysium, effectively brought to life off the coast of Los Angeles. The Elysium Police Department was one of the most powerful forms of law enforcement within the United States' jurisdiction. and though they were only stationed at Elysium, their tech advantage meant many of the latest and greatest inventions were often test-run or even concepted by their numbers. Moving to Elysium, he feels, was one of the greatest choices he'd ever made, residing within a city so unbelievable, it still felt like fiction or something out of a game he once played. Though life wasn't as kind to him, he still made the best of his existence in Elysium as best as he could. During his initial run to take the test to join the EPD, he didn't do as well when it came to written segments and practiced exams, his methods considered crude and arguably dangerous. He'd failed the test twice before he finally bettered himself to the point where he could complete the test properly and be welcomed officially to the EPD. His earliest memories were being trained by a fierce-looking tall woman of red skin that tended to underdress, though she managed to get a great deal of obedience from him in the ways it counted. Despite her looks, she was the drill sergeant from hell, whipping him into proper shape and making him a more respectful figure of the EPD. Between her idea of training and that of regulation training, he was soon fit to be able to patrol the streets on his own. Though he still had a couple of problems here and there, he managed to reel in enough of his attitude to weigh it out with the good he could do, careful not to overstep too many boundaries. However, a time came when he still lost his temper and beat a man into unconsciousness while on the job for resisting arrest following an attack on a woman. Though he was suspended for this act, he maintains it needed to be done as it was either him or the other guy, and if the other won, worse things would have happened.

He returned two weeks later, ready to make up for lost time. Some felt he was justified to do what he did, others still remained adamant he went too far... Nevertheless, he doesn't mind the gossip, instead trying to watch the situations he winds up in, and keeping better tabs on his behavior. From then until the present, he's worked to keep himself out of trouble, but a police raid a few months back had left him with several scars on his torso and a useless right arm that necessitated removal. In its place, he was given a more advanced limb to work with, considered experimental at the time but worked perfectly for someone who required a great deal of articulation on the job. Though it was a challenge to get used to, he eventually came to adopt the limb as its his and returned to the EPD in as high spirits as ever. Many don't know he regrets losing his old arm, and he prefers to let people be happy with the fact that he still seems to be his old self, not wanting to drag anyone down with a pity party... After all, he was one of the liveliest of the EPD. What would it say if the public saw him moping?

Alignment: Chaotic Good - He'll upkeep the law and fight for good, but the methods he uses aren't always approved of, nor are the lengths he goes to in order to see justice done.

Abilities:

• Grappler - A fairly strong guy, while he can let punches and kicks do the talking, he prefers to grapple and drop foes to keep them from getting any ground on him as a holdover from his days of fighting in backalleys for cash. Often times he will purposefully take a hit if it lets him get into an advantageous position to grab and throw his opponent off-balance.
• Heavy Weapons - He works for the EPD and utilizes many normal weapons, but his preference lies in the big guns. The sort of person who will bring an Anti-Tank Rifle or a Rocket Launcher to a warehouse battle in the off-chance the enemy side is packing serious ordinance. Better to have and not need it, than to need and not have it, right?
• Demolitions - Accompanies the above ability, the man loves his explosions. While he certainly isn't on the same level as Michael Bay, his range of explosives varies anywhere from hand grenades to pipe bombs to even Semtex if he finds a good place to put the stuff to use. Thankfully such places are few and far inbetween.
• Bodyguard - He often prefers to play a more defensive role in the presence of allies. he considers himself the self-imposed tank of the EPD, and often it shows in his armors, which tend to be something approaching powered armors than actual body armors. Due to their experimental and prototype nature, they aren't widely produced yet, used solely by the heavier forces in the EPD... For now.
• Artificial Arm - A recent acquisition from events that occured not long before, Kiel lost the use of his right arm from a severe firefight and an errant grenade. Though it doesn't look like it, the entirety of his right arm from the shoulder down has been replaced by a bionic limb. Though he jokes and says it makes masturbating all the more fun with a vibrating hand, the truth is he can still sometimes feel his old limb there and its departure leaves him more shaken up than advertised. However, the qualities it affords him far outweigh the negatives, and it still has room to be enhanced.

Flaws:

• Loose Cannon - A little extreme, but he definitely shows moments of aggressive and reckless behavior. Usually the only life he tends to endanger tends to be his own, though it's liable to happen if coworkers are with him too. He tries his best to avoid situations like this when in the company of allies, but he isn't perfect.
• Shortsighted - When it comes to him and his goals, he'll often take the shortest road, no matter how rife with danger it may be. Bonus points if he's behind the wheel or at the handlebars of any sort-of transportation, no amount of traffic or obstructions will keep him from chasing someone down.
