The completed character of Jason Monroe, Swashbuckler and rogue extrordinaire.

Name: Jason Monroe
Age: 24
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Height: 5’10
Weight: 192

Physical Description: Jason is a good looking young man with a certain style and flaire that makes him stand out in a crowd, be it on the deck of a ship, or the local tavern; he makes a mark wherever he goes. A strong jawed face with bright, blue eyes and a slight curl to his lips that implies a bit of humor that only he is privy to are separated by a straight, almost bold nose and the top half of a jet black goatee. A tanned complexion surrounded by a luxurious mane of ebony hair and a single gold ring in anearlobe. Broad shoulders fills out the linen tunic under a dark blue jacket before his frame narrows to lean hips and long legs encased in leather pants and turned down thigh high boots.

Personality: Jason never lacks for something to say, usually witty and perhaps just a little insulting, but that’s only to his opponents. A fairly happy-go-lucky man, Jason is everything that a swashbuckler should be, urbane, polite, and loves a good duel. While he might plan to kill a man tomorrow, there’s no reason why he can’t sit down and have a drink with the man for some banter and piffy interchanges the day before. As long as the rules of etiquette are followed, he’ll even buy the drink. But, when the time calls for seriousness… well, he’s probably not the guy to look toward.  He’s not lazy, or doesn’t take things seriously, he just doesn’t want to look like he is. But, when the decks are awash with blood and the sails are flapping in the dead air, he’s the man you want at your back.

History:

"Are you calling me a pirate in that book? Good! Because I am! And a damn good one, too. No I never flew the skull and crossbones. That's for your fictioneers. But I have sought pleasure and profit all of my life at sea with no regard for any man's law. That's not to say without morals and principles! Hell, I got morals and principles. I never killed anybody who didn't have it coming. I never cheated an honest man. I never pillaged and I never raped. "

And so, more or less, is how Jason Monroe grew up.Not a bad man by most men’s standards, he is a man who lived by his own rules and made few bones about it. Born to a struggling family of craftsmen in a place that not even he will name, Jason grew up on the edges of the law and did what he had to do in order to survive; taking his own code very seriously as he dealt with what life in the streets had to offer.

That is, until he was picked up for some minor infraction involving a noble’s wife and daughter… there may have been some question about paternity, but again, he has never verified or denied the rumors and in fact refuses to comment at all on it. The net result was a sentence of service on a navel vessel, which ended up suiting him just fine. Jason liked the sea and learned far more on the deck of a ship than he ever would of on the streets.

Jason had always had a bit of flare, and taste that leaned toward the exotic. When he set foot onto the deck of Dauntless as a cabin boy, he caught the attention of the Captain and started to learn about the finer things in life, the civilized way of life, the feel of a blade in the hand and the dance of battle; the sound of steel on steel and the certain knowledge that life hangs in the balance. He loved his time at sea, even if it was a relatively short one… for now…

When Jason returned to the land-locked, he merged what he had learned at sea with his youthful exploits and expanded his scope a bit. Rather than thieving and dodging the authorities though, he went into mercenary work; chosing his employers with some care, and putting his talents to work for his companions and when it suited, friends. They say that mercenaries don’t have morals and principles, but it’s a myth. Some will fight for whoever will pay the gold, but others will work for those who have the gold and job that supports your own views. The money may be lean from time to ime, but you sleep better at night… preferably with a lusty wench next to you.

Morality: Jason is a strong believer in the ends justifies the means. That’s not to say that he would go out of his way to take the most difficult route or the least difficult option, but if he has to step into the shades of gray to keep the greater good, he’s not above doing it. He believes himself to be a good man in the overall sense, but admits that he’s sometimes done bad things to benefit the good. In his eyes, the greater good may sometimes simply mean taking care of the present situation and worrying about the greater picture later, or making a difficult decision that no one else wants to make. If it comes down to the best of two bad choices, he’ll go with the least bad of the two and accept that it’s part of being human and balancing the scales.

Individual rights and freedoms are important to Jason, but those freedoms and rights don’t extend to causing harm to the innocent or denying another of their freedom without just cause. He has killed and takes no pleasure in it, but he would lie if he said that he regretted killing a man who was trying to kill him. A duel, afterall, is a duel and honor means something, even when your idea of honor may be a little off of the beaten track… He’s fond of a phrase that he’s read in a book once, “I’ve never killed a man who didn’t have it coming, I’ve never raped and I’ve never pillaged!” In the end, Jason is ultimately a very practical man and will try to do the right thing.
"I am a Southern Gentleman, which means that I'm a rogue and a scoundrel. When I'm not kissin' the hands of married women, I'm slipping off their wedding rings."

Being Literate is the ability to read and understand a language. When you ask for literate, what you are looking for is Verbosity, which is the ability to use lots of words without actually saying very much... like politicians. I consider myself both literate and verbose.

Question: When is this going to start? (I meen, is there long waiting/casting cough period)

vatovie

We will start when everyone has sent me characters. The people I am waiting on are You, PhantomPistoler, Ixy/LuciferO,RubySlippers/Cowntdown. For a few of those I'm waiting for characters to be made and shown to me before I decide what one fits the game better. The people that are gonna have to deal with that have the slash between their names.

Ixy

More details are coming... but I'm going to share what I have so far, and give a brief idea of how they'd interact with the party.

Fighter draft 1: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=77498
Sean Revven has spent her life trying to prove herself since the day that she wandered into a ranger camp.  She was a seven year old elven girl, bloodied from head to toe, half-starved and silent as the grave..  Though she would remain without speech for several weeks, she fought to be self-reliant, insistently refusing to be cared-for as a child in her weakened condition-- she would not take food from another's hand, would not allow herself to be cleaned or dressed once she had the strength to fight back, and would not let the rangers carry her on horseback once she had achieved the strength to walk on.  Even when the outpost became her new home, she refused to speak of what had befallen her tribe, only offering one word in explanation: "Trolls".

She did recoil from the woods that had birthed her family, against the nature of her tribe's blood.  She focused her efforts instead on competing with the human youths she encountered-- few and far between-- and keeping odd jobs for the militiamen at the fort.  After a few years, she had become a fixture of the camp, so that when the outpost was closed in favor of a more secure fort, she was allowed to move with the company as an adopted daughter of the unit captain.

Learning the ways of human martial combat, she became as competent as any fighter, but was refused from military service due to her inability to comply with authority... in fact, it was her adopted father who black-balled her, hoping to teach her more patience so she could avoid the stockades--or worse, the end of a lance-- as reward for her relentless heroic streak.  Angered, she set off for freelance work, and was welcomed into a company of mercenaries that practiced little in the way of self-discipline off the field, where she managed to show admirable restraint MOST of the time.

Monk draft 1: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=77752
Rhode was born into pain.  She would not understand how her 'father'-- a human man, whose wife had died bringing Rhode into the world-- could always look upon her with a mixture of revulsion and contempt.  On their rural pig-farm, she was cared for by her oldest sister, but when she asked about her mother or why she looked so different from the others, she was always met with a stony silence that left her aching inside.

Then came the physical pain... shortly before she gained her womanhood, she began to suffer with excruciating pain in her joints and bones, as her gray skin and farm-girl muscles labored to support the sudden, intense growth of her half-giant form.  She was unable to walk, many days, and when she did it was with a crutch.  She lay awake at night with stabs of pain waking her the moment she drifted to sleep, and it seemed as though she would never be free of it.

Finally unable to bear the burden of a useless daughter, her father plead with a local monastery to take in the girl.  They were amenable, after a visit, and Rhode became their ward... as such, she learned that the order was more than it seemed.  To the casual observer, they were pious makers of wine and beer, keepers of texts and givers of good faith, but within this sect was an order of assassins that honed their bodies and minds to the point of mastery.  Those that failed to complete their training were castrated and forced to serve the order's superficial needs so that the warriors on the heart of the order could practice with impunity acts of intimidation, war, and even murder to serve their brothers in local government.  They had created a niche of the human country that was ruled entirely by their own, a utopia ruled with a dagger of night.

She learned to endure the pain until her growth stopped, learned of her mother's rape by a mad fire giant and death during her childbirth, learned how to fight and kill and keep order however is necessary.  And she will have order.

vatovie, I use chrome which has issues with that alternative character sheet application you sent me, nor can I use myth weavers.

I dont want to be a problem but I think I may only be able to play if I write it out myself - which i am happy to do.

I was thinking of a dex-build character with finesse, using a shortsword.

Is this acceptable ? Or did you want to give my character a miss ?

vatovie

I use chrome and I can use it just fine. Just scroll down on the page. However I don't think we need a dex finesse fighter.

LuciferOs

I don't really want to be a butch fighter.

Is there any roles left that are avaiable, or have all the roles other than that been filled ?

You do have a lot of characters now.

vatovie

Ranged focus has not been filled which is sad because the belt fed repeating crossbow is a thing. I'm aware I have a lot of characters and I see that as a lot of characters to choose from to join. Which I'm fine with.

LuciferOs

Well how about a dex-fighter that specialises in the repeating crossbow (belt fed I think you suggested),
and has a shortsword as backup ?

Is that acceptable ? Is so I will create one now.

Sister Tabitha Lockhart
Character Sheet

Sister Tabitha Lockhart is a devotee to the Uncaring God, Boccob.

Brief History:

When she was younger, Sister Tabitha was wild, reckless, and sexually promiscuous.  She had numerous suitors, but found all of them wanting.  Her father, a merchant lord, ashamed by his daughter's disgraceful conduct, placed her within a women's convent.  There, Sister Tabitha endured a hellish life, both at the hands of the strict nuns and the repressed priests.  Still, Sister Tabitha found solace in the great works of Boccob, and soon flourished as a novice cleric.

She began her pilgrimage shortly after leaving the convent, and has accompanied numerous adventuring companies on their voyages.  Sister Tabitha has spent an inordinate amount of time in make-shift field camps dressing wounds, and has developed a sort of reputation as being kind and compassionate to the wounded.

Quallathan Aillion character sheet

Name: Quallathan Aillion
Race: Highelf
Age: 110
Height: 5´2
Weight: 98lb
Hair: Golden Blond
Eyes: Steel Grey

Personality: Quallathan takes life by the horns. not backing down from an fight when there is need for it, but she does not rush headfirst into troubles.
She values intelligence over strength, when it comes to problem solving. Emotionally Quallathan is slightly sadden, as she has seen friends grow old and die, where she still remains untouched by the age. That is the sole reason why she has remained virgin. She would not bear to witness her loved one wither.

Appearance: Petite woman, with striking eyes. Her best quality is her long hair accompanied with her tight physique and elven beauty. Her armor is keeping most of the would-be suitors at bay, and the rest are kept at arms length by her near 10feet long runecovered naginata.

History: Quallathan is one of e few elves travelling among the mortals. She do not speak her past in the elven lands, as they are not matters to talk with lesser beings. On the other hand, she is keenly interested about the dealings of mortals, in every level of society interests her. From lowly beggar to kings, and the workings of politics. Life and its flow among the short living races is much faster, more chaotic, more alive to her. Major events in her close history is the adventure where she single handedly toke out an ring of flesh peddlers.
