There is a small group of people working together on a common goal. They are equals, so whenever they have to decide on something, they all need to be on board with the idea. Today the youngest member, a redhead named Tender, got a good idea. She asks around to see how others feel about it. Eventually she goes to Lucas and explains her idea to him. "So, can I get your approbation?" she asks.
Lucas knows well what she means, but he also knows that 'approbation' is a word with two meanings. He likes to tease her, so he sais: "Sure; you're doing great, Ten!"
Tender tries hard not to show her smile. "That's not what I meant and you know it."
Lucas grins. "Then you shouldn't use difficult words. Just ask for my approval next time."
"It's not a difficult word if you know what it means," Tender teases back.

The Green One

Dreidel dreidel dreidel...
A little kid sang.
I made it out of clay...
Gleaming eyes watching the whirligig.
And when it's dry and ready...
It's colors melding with each spin.
Oh, dreidel we will play...

Myrrh, incense and gold, colors, scents and riches they hold

Another Christmas with the family, another mayhem ahead. The family cat, enthralled with the Christmas tree is about to attack. The youngest couple keeps throwing each other under the mistletoe with abandon. Grandparents are writing their verbose and periphrasis-filled speeches. A redolent air wraps everyone in the kitchen, where someone is hurrying to placate the famishing mouths, their early voracity bringing a feeling of fey to the house.
