(UTBLOV) is a large group game set in Las Vegas in the Annita Blake universe. We use the books loosely and are not looking for canon characters. We are looking for new characters that want to come in and play with us, most of us have been with the game since it began almost a year ago.

The History

History:

Lorelei Cole’s family were nomadic missionaries who spent most of their career going between the United States and the Himalayas with more years spent in the latter.  When she was twenty and on break from University, she joined her family for a trip into a newly-discovered inhabited mountain range.  The trip progressed just fin until her father (who had, in the previous year or two suffered from an increasing large reserve of pride due to his successes in the Missionary field) didn’t believe their guide in the Himalayas when he’d warned them they were traveling too far up into a certain region.  The guide was vehement that they should stop and turn around, go back where they came from because, according to him, that was the area of what he had, in his own native language, described the “man beast!  Man beast!”.  He’d pointed frantically, gesturing wildly, but Lorelei’s father simply condescendingly nodded his head and calmly told the guide, “Yes, my son, all men are beasts until they meet the Lord our God.”

The guide ran back in the direction of the nearest village.  When the authorities had shown up almost a day later, it was carnage that they found, with Lorelei’s mother and father both dead and almost all of the missionaries.  Two were missing, Lorelei and her uncle, whom they discovered in the village half starved, severely injured, and confused three days later.  Lorelei’s statement to the authorities and that of her uncle garnered a brief investigation during which time she was certain that they were hiding something and knew more than they let on.  They pretended not to believe her story of a man turning into a wolf and attacking her and the others.  They told her she was delirious from the fever of infection and it was just a threatened wolf that attacked them.  The fact that her uncle’s account of what happened was almost identical to hers is the only reason she, too, didn’t start to think she was remembering incorrectly or worse, going crazy.  She’d seen what she’d seen.  It took the government only another two days to politely but firmly extract the young woman and her uncle from that country, making them promise never to return. 

Lorelei and her uncle Thomas relocated near a forest of their homeland in the State of Washington.  There, they researched and dug and researched about what they were sure they’d seen and what might happen to them in the future.  Together they endured their first moon in a camping trip far out in the wilderness and from then on their strength as family forged stronger.  They continued to learn, took work where they could and gradually made inroads to return to missionary life and the church.  Lorelei’s part in the latter was limited due to her anger at God because of what he allowed happen to her family and herself.  Her uncle, though, kept the faith. 

The difficulties of integrating her two selves, beast and productive member of society, proved trying but also helped her grow stronger.  She discovered it paramount to gain as much control over the beast as possible and emotional triggers were the most severe in Washington.  During the last year-and-a-half, increasing concern over lycan-related violence brought Lorelei and her uncle some unwanted attention.  Normally that wouldn’t have occurred, as most people in their church preferred to turn a blind-eye to some of the Cole’s strange activities.  However, they were betrayed by a young man who was frustrated from his rejected advances on Lorelei and he ratted them out to a group called Human’s First. 

Interference from members of Human’s First together with the man who betrayed them, and his followers, escalated the tensions and accusations which resulted in some fights and eventually skirmishes.  Violence followed and Thomas and Lorelei were excommunicated from the church.  Certain fights resulted in injuries and over that period of six months to a year Lorelei developed an ability to heel faster .  The reason for the violence began as self-defense; the Coles were unable to get help from the government.  It felt like their own little war.  They lost the war and evacuated from Washington to Oregon where a relative offered to help them build a new life. 

With the help of Lorelei’s relative on her mother’s side, she and her uncle were able to get legalized with the assistance of a church.  Her uncle began “The Gift of Life”, a mission outreach athletics project, and that branched off to “Athletics for Youth”, a money-making operation.  As a side note, uncle Thomas is branching off further with an underground fight club, but failed to  inform Lorelei of this activity, so for a while she remained clueless about its existence.

Lorelei maintained a lonely lifestyle and eventually and her uncle had a falling-out concerning his covert activities involving the underground fight club.  After several verbal and physical confrontations, Lorelei split off from her uncle’s enterprise and is on her way to the Bright Lights of Las Vegas!

This looks like an amazing game. I would love to write up a character sheet for consideration but need ask if you are looking for any particular species at the moment? Do you need more of a particular "type" at the moment to help round things out, or do you have a species you'd prefer not to take more of because you have enough already?

We are looking for almost anything, except for the position of Lupa. At this point in the game we need more vampires, weretigers and wolves. We have werehyenas in the game but they are more of the "supernatural" mob in this game. Feel free to toss some ideas and we can place you to transition into the game.

Likes:Music, especially old jazz and blues; books, nearly anything she can get her hands on; movies, anything from fluffy "chick flicks", to hard core horror just depends on her mood, she also paints and writes, loves chocolates, strawberries, and honest people...those she believes those are rare and hard to find.
Dislikes:Tardiness, lying, people who act like scared idiots because of what she is instead of who.
absolutely not's:Maiming and death, most else can be negotiated if it's relevant to the story in some fashion.
Talents:Hiding in plain sight, organization, teaching others when she has the chance (never been a teacher, but she's been an excellent tutor). Being an alpha she has excellent control over her changes down to being able to do just partial shifts if needed and being able to change quickly without crashing entirely, though it does leave her tired.
Character Traits:She doesn't trust easily but once she does it's without reservation, break trust and you'll never get it back.
Personality:Ishta is talkative by nature but has learned to use that tendency to talk a lot and say very little all at the same time. People come away thinking they know her while actually having learned very little about her. She keeps her secrets to herself and is utterly trustworthy, even those who lose her trust need never worry that any secrets she holds will come out because she would never break a trust given to her; she sees such behaviour as beneath her. The only exception would be if it is a choice between breaking someones trust and protecting them from imminent danger.  Strong, loyal, she uses the bubbly exterior to hide a much more quiet and thoughtful person than people would realize is there at first.

The History

History: Her parents ran from the clan soon after they realized her mother was pregnant. Her mother had been abducted and forced into the clan at a young age and it was through sheer luck that she'd been wed to a good man and they'd grown to love each other. As that love had grown her father and found it more and more repugnant that his wife had been kidnapped and forced to marry him and they vowed to never have children of their own who would be forced into such a situation.

And then they'd gotten pregnant.

They did the only thing they could think of to protect their child from the clans isolationist behaviour, they ran. They were both strong enough for her father to take her mother's beast while she was pregnant and there were never more loving, or doting parents than Ishta's. They loved their daughter with everything they had, making sure she lacked for nothing even though they lived the life of wandering nomads to avoid detection by other clans and to keep word from getting back of white tigers appearing in any area for too long.

They taught her to love hard, but also taught her not to trust people in general, and the white tiger clan in particular. Their life on the run, and her own immense power, gave her the skills she needed to pass as human once they started dying her hair and she got the colored contacts she almost never took out. Still the stories of the clan she was, rightfully, a part of seemed fantastic and a bit exaggerated to her young ears and she yearned for a place to cal home, to lay down roots...to just be able to spend more then six months in one place!

When a fatal car wreck (a semi driver fell asleep and plowed over her parents vehicle which burst into flames with them unconscious inside) took her parents from her she decided to do the one thing she would never have done while they lived. She packed a bag and headed for Vegas; if it was really as bad as they had always claimed, she could always run again but if it wasn't then maybe she could find a place to call home.

Under law, RpiT is allowed to arrest and persecute Varian for murder or even kill him BUT Simone, The Hyena Oba, located him and protected him until he came back to his senses. This is the case for many were creatures who are not born with the lycan virus. So on top of  various connections (shady or honest), they run a few underground sex/bdsm clubs, the silver chain being one of them. It is like a haven for were creatures, a place they are accepted openly without the lycan fearing humans.

Their business practices vary from drug trafficking/sex trafficking (up to Goldie), I am not really sure but these guys are more connected with the criminal underworld then the other Lycans, the wolves, tigers and Lions (which are stricktly NPC, no player Lion's will be allowed).

Caela- Great character but before you join the game a little information for you that will help.

The tigers are in a moment of great turmoil, their queen has gone missing (played by undisclosedtoyou- "Ashley"/Sid) and the fill in, has eloped with a tiger prince from Seattle. So she will find a city with a heavy tiger population but it is no longer unified. "Ashley" has resurfaced after  few months but her memories are not returning to her so she does not even know she is the lost tiger "queen".

The History

History:

Aleksei Kumarin was born in Russia to a loving mother and business-minded father.  His mother died under mysterious circumstances when he had just turned twenty-one.  The men of the family (father and three brothers including Aleksei) thereafter turned their business dealings to darker, more sinister and violent activities.  Within ten years of his father allegedly becoming the founding member of the notorious Tambov syndicate in 1989 to run protection rackets, Aleksei was sent to Paris with his two brothers and a sister under the pretense of attending school and building careers.  In Paris from that day forward Aleksei and his brothers expanded their father’s empire of drug dealing via networks of nightclubs and strip clubs throughout Paris, Aleksei was put in charge of the smuggling operation that wove throughout the wharf communities.  In time he had begun branching out with under-cover organizations not connected with the Kumarin name.  His tactics for acquiring employees and bribing dock officials were becoming well known and respected within the seedy community in which he was involved and some were known to call him the King of Seine.

Aleksei, becoming increasingly disinclined to agree with his elder brothers narrow-minded ignorance in handling many of their father’s business dealings, kept quiet and continued building his own network of imports and exports.  He stays physically fit with a regimen of regular hard-core exercise and a fairly healthy diet and is disease and drug-free except for the booze and cigarettes.  When Aleksei’s father died in 1999, a shift in the family dynamics was immediate and absolute as the eldest of the brothers took a tighter reign on the Paris faction of their business dealings.  While his youngest brother made his unrest about the business known more vocally and violently to their eldest brother than Aleksei would do, he instead began a systematic break-away from his brother, Uri, opening a number of secret bank accounts and creating alliances between himself and major business owners throughout the city.

One fateful night at the end of June, 2009, the Kumarin world was torn apart and a chain of events began that would forever change Aleksei’s outlook on life and what he needs to do to survive.  First, his younger brother was killed in a brawl, then his sister(Sasha) was ruthlessly hunted by his own eldest brother, Uri, and nearly killed by him, and then thirdly his brother(Uri) was shot and killed in self defense by his own younger sister(Sasha).  She’d disappeared after that and Aleksei himself had turned into a shell of a man.  The only thing that keeps him going day after day is his secret investigation into the men responsible for the downfall of all their lives, those Czechoslovakian bastards (werewolfdogs) that killed his youngest brother and infected his sister, for yes, he knows about the infection.  He knows who is responsible.  But the quest of finding them is fraught with twists, turns, subterfuge and silence from the Czech mob. 

Aleksei then attempted to rebuild his business and while not exactly a legal manner, it’s at least without the seedier, more murderous aspects – it involved the import/export game, having left the drug dealing and other forms of trafficking behind.  He secretly continued the investigation against the Czechoslovakian’s without breaking the oath he swore to never pursue his sister(Sasha, werewolfdog). 

His quest for justice eventually led Aleksei down an alley and into a confrontation between hyenas and some other group and, caught in the brawl, he was infected with lycanthropy.  Because of the need to protect their own, Aleksei was dragged into the clan where he healed his wounds and was taught the ways of life as a lycan.

Are you going for pure human? Crimes are covered by RpIT so you can work that angle or also there is going to be some political moves done by Varian in the near future so you can always be a campaign manager or a something in that area. The things with humans is we try to connect them to someone for plot sake.

I was thinking human that will eventually be turned - vampire or wolf, I don't know. Sorry, had to read up on what RpIT is (I haven't read the series yet) and I'm not sure a defense attorney would work. Campaign manager might just work perfectly. Let me see what I can come up with and I'll post it to see if it will fit. Thanks.

My Tiger is a lawyer for supernatural crimes, so I think that would work. She'll be out of the story once I leave for boot camp in April, so you could replace her. It would be a helpful thing to have.

I'd be really sad if they did disappear!  I think the Hyena's are all kinds of fun, especially since they have such an interesting flavor to them in this game! 

Oh and I'd just die if someone made a Hyena character who looked like Vin Diesel for Sid/Ashely, that would just make my night!  If interested, PM me, and we can plot.

Appearance: Slim, attractive, well built. She has an innate grace born from years of ballet training. Niveyah’s eyes are a startling light shade of green that seems to glow in certain lights. Her black hair is naturally wavy and worn longer than shoulder length.

She is personable and, once you get to know her, quite warm and charming. She likes to laugh and loves to dance. She can come across as a little cold to men, but she’s a sucker for good old fashioned chivalry. She values intelligence and dedication as well as kindness and honesty. She is extremely guarded around strangers. She is eager and determined to make the best showing possible in her new job.

The History

History: Niveyah Russert was born in Boston to two socially prominent, politically active parents. Her father was an ambassador to Russia and her mother was Senator. As a young child Niveyah attended boarding schools with other children whose parents were never around. She knew they loved her, but the lack of connection with them led to Niveyah being a rather aloof and introverted child. It wasn’t until age nine, when she discovered ballet that she began to open up and become more confident. Niveyah studied dance with the conviction and dedication of a professional from a young age. Her only dream was to be a prima ballerina with a major company someday. She’d gotten her chance when she was 19. She’d auditioned for the Boston Ballet and secured a spot in the corp.
She quickly moved up through the corp until she was being given solo’s in almost every performance. The choreographer had taken a liking to her and they began an intense sexual affair that lasted more than 2 years. Niveyah thought they were in love and was certain that he was going to ask her to marry him. Sadly, during a performance while on tour in Europe Niveyah was terribly injured ending her dance career. The relationship between her and the choreographer began to become strained and she eventually caught him cheating on her with another dancer. At 21 Niveyah packed her bags and moved to New York where, thanks to her father’s connections, she entered law school.

It was in college that she developed her fascination for vampire lore. A friend convinced her to go to a frat party where she met some very interesting people who, through lengthy conversation, completely dispelled everything she’d ever heard or been told about the creatures. She began to read the things they suggested and so began her lifelong pursuit into the truth behind the legends. The more she learned, the more fascinated she became. She had a short lived but wild affair with one of the boys who swore he was born a vampire...though she didn't actually believe him.

Niveyah graduated with top honors and went on to practice law in a very prestigious firm. Soon she was winning cases and making a name for herself. She was on the track to becoming partner when her parents were killed along with a dozen or so other high profile names while on a humanitarian mission in the former soviet block. The authorities had sent the bodies – or what remained of them – back in sealed caskets with no real answers as to how they were killed or who had done it. There seemed to be little to no evidence left to lead them to the guilty parties. Niveyah had requested special permission to go over and investigate on her own, but was denied. She still searches for closure.

Her parents’ deaths left Niveyah with no living family. This affected her deeply and she began a slow decline into a deep depression that lasted for several month’s. When she finally came out of it, she had changed. She was more determined and dedicated than she’d ever been. She began receiving recognition for her take charge, no nonsense bulldog attitude when it came to her cases. The senior partners were impressed, until she ran afoul of one of their biggest clients. He was a wealthy man with lots of connections. He’d taken a fancy to Niveyah but she wasn’t interested. She knew he was a cruel man who liked to toy with women. When she discovered he had shady dealings with the Mob along with other disturbing facts that seemed to continually be covered up, she began to investigate further. As her investigation revealed more shady dealings, Niveyah began to get threats to her safety. When she went to her bosses with her information, she was told in no uncertain terms to drop it. As the weeks went by, and the death threats increased, it became clear that her bosses were not as clean as she thought they were. Several weeks after she began her investigation, she was escorted from the building by security. That night, while she was out with friends drowning her anger, her apartment was broken into.

Niveyah moved in with her friend the next day. Jen told her about a job opening she’d heard about through her boyfriend. It was in Vegas with a place called RpIT. She wasn’t quite sure what it stood for, but she knew she had to get out of New York and quick. She sent her letter and resume the next day. Within a week she was hired and was on her way to Vegas.

Any human characters need to be involved in some form or fashion with the Preternatural community, so that we don't have any loose characters floating about.  But if you want to create one just to be infected or turned immediately, than we can work with that.  Werewolves and Hyena get infected when a shifted Were bites/attacks them.  The Tigers are one of the only kind of Were that can pass down the infection genetically. 

Although I'm not as up to date with the Hyena's, so it's possible that they can be born infected, but that questions could be answered by Goldy.

The History

History:

She was born in London, England. Ever since little she was shielded from the word of darkness like their parents called it. They were deep inside the word but to what extent she really did not knew. They did a very good job at keeping the secret however, she grew up to be a very happy woman, a little bit over the edge with her attitude but her parents loved that about her, the attitude to confront anything that steps on her way with a good attitude towards life. However things always get a turn for the worst, and it all happened on her sixteen birthday.

Her parents were driving home from a business meeting, when they were attacked. They tried to defend themselves  but at the end they lost the battle and got killed. When the news came back to Kat she was devastated, she could not believe that her parents died. The cause of death was the crash, however they never explained to her the bites and marks she found on their body when she went to identify them. She fell into a deep depression, her clothes became darker and her form of dressing became more punkish. She found solitude and recovery on music, hearing the letters of others going through the same thing made her happy. She recovered after a few years, but the taste in music never changed and neither did her clothing.

When she finally turned 18 she decided to move out of her grandmothers house. With the fortune her parents left her she bought a small apartment and lived happy for a few years while she started going to university. In there she met this girl named Lyna, they hit it off right away. Lyna brought her back from the depression and made her see a new outtake on life.

Two years later and by Lyna's request Kat bought a plane ticket to Las Vegas. She needed to have fun and Vegas would prove to be the best way to have fun. Going alone was the best decision of her life because she could get as wild as she could and there was nobody to tell her otherwise.

This can be worked out, and accommodated.  Just decide which Were group you want her to be turned into, and contact the GM that handles that groups going on.  All except the Tigers, which almost always turn a person through general streak approval, and only if the person being turned has proven themselves worthy.

Character traits can be found in the Anita Blake Wiki, and are characteristics shared by all the characters of their perspective group.  Talents are another thing altogether.  Some groups, like vamps, have unique powers via bloodlines and experience.  Generally, the more experience a character has, the more talents they could potentially have.  Also keep in mind that the universe we are working in, has humans with supernatural powers, i.e Animators and Wiccan witches, the details of what's allowed for humans can be found on the wiki to.

Your character looks good, but something you may want to keep in mind is that Vampires are very much well known, and prevalent in this universe, they have rights(although admittedly very little), and even a fan base.  Were-creatures are less known, but only because they are treated very badly by society so people don't come out with their infection if they can help it.

So a brand new fledgling Vampire wouldn't have any special talents just yet, but just hold the character traits that are common to all vampires.

I wasn't trying to correct you Dis, just my brain ticking over lol. I enjoy this series a lot and I'm one of those people that when a new book in a series I like comes out, I have to re-read at least the couple books before it again (if not nearly the whole series) just because. So I've read through some of them a few times. I can't be sure, but I think Anita eventually tells Richard's pack in one of the later books,( but that wouldn't mean that anyone had mentioned it in Vegas) and they may be trying it to see if it works. Meh, now I have to go back and read again lol, so that I can be sure! :D

The History

History:
Jason became a werewolf some 4 years ago, in a rather unusual way. While performing an outsitting, and journeying amongst the Nine Worlds, he encountered a wolf spirit. It accompanied him on his journey, and when he returned to his flesh, as far as he can tell, it came too. At first unwilling to accept what had happened, his broken arm healing in two weeks made him seek out the local supernatural community, where the local Eranthe, Savannah, (the first he was able to contact) confirmed his suspicions ... he had indeed become a werewolf.

The local pack, unbeknownst to him, had gone through a recent upheaval, the Ulfric and most of the alphas having been killed by newcomers. The new Ulfric was supposed to be under the control of the Russian mob that had brought him over, and helped him to take over the pack. They were (fatally) surprised when they found out that he had plans of his own.

When things settled down, over time, Jason found himself with the role of Vargamor of the pack, his magical talents making him an obvious choice. He also settled into a semi-relationship with the Eranthe, understanding and accepting of her duty to the pack, and finding several of the betas taken under his wing before he realised what that responsibility meant. His own nature meant that he would not abandon them though, once it was explained to him.

When Savannah died some 6 months ago as a result of Humans First attack, Jason found himself uncomfortable in the pack. There were too many reminders keeping the pain close and raw, even though she was still with him through the munin. When word of the happenings in Las Vegas reached the Ulfric, he offered Jason the opportunity to join that pack, partly to give him somewhere new, partly to forge ties between the two packs.

He agreed that it might be what he needed, sorted out his responsibilities, and headed west.

Once he feels comfortable in his surroundings, however, he is usually the fun loving one of the group, never able to sit still for more than five minutes. 

The History

History:
Not a lot is known about Taka's human past and he likes to keep it that way. He believes that is life truly started when he became a vampire. Pulled out of poverty and servitude by one who found him oh so beautiful, he was brought into the world of the vampires and has never looked back since. He left his native Japan in 1958 and travelled the world without his master, as he felt the older vampire had taught him all he needed to know and it was time to branch out on his own. He marvelled at how different the rest of the world was and fell in love with rock and roll. He was hooked on the music and the ever changing style and he himself became ever changing, becoming the fashion chameleon. He returned to Japan in 1998 and served under the Master of Tokyo as his Enforcer but after a few years the travel bug bit him yet again and he relinquished his title and travelled to America to seek the bright lights of Vegas.

Aoi was ten years old when her family realised that something was very wrong with her. After they had been to her grandmother's funeral, they were all mightily surprised to find that her grandmother had followed them home. Things like this became a regular occurrence, road kill getting up and following her, the neighbours dead cat digging itself out of its grave and rubbing up against her leg looking for tit-bits and tickles and the way the graveyard simply seemed to stir when she walked by. At the end of their tether, they asked around the local vampires for an audience with the Master of the City. The Master thought long and hard about his decision, it was common practice to kill animators, but he wondered if he could make this one work for them. At 16 years old she was handed over to the vampires, and Takamasa Ishihara was to be her ward.
She is now being brought to Vegas as a treaty gift from the Master of Tokyo to the Master of Vegas.

Specifically speaking, we could definitely use more males for the Wolves, Tigers, and RPIT/Other Humans.  Our Vampires, and Hyenas could use another mix of male and female characters. Please, ask questions if you're not sure about something.  We will try to help you with the best of our abilities!

Were Appearance: A large white Bengal Tiger with rich dark black stripes with thick and longer fur about his head very much like a short mane of a lion clearly marking him as a strong male tiger.

When in a purely social setting he becomes nervous and tongue tied around woman especially if he finds them attractive. As a result he has very little experience.

Once he gets to know people and is comfortable around them he opens up and shows that he actually has a quick wit and a warm sense of humor. With those he knows and is comfortable around he will tease playfully and be very quick to come to their aid in whatever they need. He is however very reluctant to trust and aid strangers.

The History

History: Three months ago he was a fairly happy college junior majoring in physical education spending much of his free time practicing his martial arts or dance. Then while on a weekend camping trip he was attack by a werewolf and barely survived. Not wanting to become one of the lunarly challenged he opted to take the inoculation to prevent contracting lycanthropy. As it turned out the werewolf virus did not take hold in his body; therefore, the tiger virus used to counteract it did take hold and he is now a were tiger.

Realizing what has happened after his first change he decided to drop out of college at least until he can learn to control the change. Not having a tiger clan any were near his home or college he mostly hitch hikes to Las Vegas. He has accepted what he has become and just wants to learn to control it and find a place where he can be accepted.

Character looks good Elf, but be aware that the tigers of Last Vegas are currently going through some problems. Their is no established leaders and they are basically a group held together as they endure the troubled time.

The Tiger queen is back in the city but is suffering from memory loss after being held captive in a lab.

So your character will have to make his own in the city, luckily there are plenty of places he can "work" at and make contact with our other players. (Th gms can help place you, or you can just work at one of the smaller places, like the restaurant or if he is a gym guy, he can get a work at the slaughterhouse which is a very were friendly gym)

Eventually you can find your own kind and the tiger plot just continues from there (as determined by the players)

Having Native American blood in him he shows signs of his ancestry while also having an American look.  The Native American in him is most evident in his long flowing black hair and the darker tone of his skin while his features such as his face have a more European feel.  Standing a few inches over six feet he has a well tones and muscled body.  Always in shape before the change, becoming a wolf only enhanced what was already there.

Personality: Holdyn is a dominant alpha wolf that is willing to do what has to be done.  He doesn't shy away from violence when it is needed but doesn't search it out.  He has a very strong understanding and acceptance of the pack life. 

Taking the chain of command very seriously he feels that everyone should know their place and accept it.  He has a pack first mentality.  If the law needs to be broken to do what is needed for the pack then it has to be done.  The law is the human's law and doesn't always apply to the shapeshifters.

The History

History:

At the time of his birth Holdyn's father was a werewolf and his mother a human.  The virus did not pass through the DNA to him and he was born human.  Shortly after his birth his mother was infected with the lycanthropy virus.  He was raised with the awareness of what his parents were by their pack up in Canada.  While he was taught much about pack life and werewolf life he was well aware that he wasn't one of them, that he was human. 

At a young age he took up martial arts as a way to gain strength and power.  He saw that the wolves around him were superior to him in what they could do physically and he always looked for ways to enhance his own abilities with the realm of human nature.  He took well to the martial arts as well as the use as knives.  Becoming very skilled at handling them in competitions.

After years of begging to be infected he was finally given the choice after his eighteenth birthday.  Without hesitation he accepted and shortly before his nineteen birthday was brought into the pack by his own father. 

After so many years as a human wanting to be a wolf, when he finally was one he experienced a world he had always dreamed off.  He took to it quickly, ingraining himself in pack life and working his way through the ranks as the years passed.  He learned to do what others wouldn't because he was determined to be the best he could.  Eventually rising to the position of Bolverk

When his father recently became Ulfric of the pack Holdyn decided it was time to move on.  Not because of any hatred or anger towards his father and mother but because of a desire to continue to grow and learn and hopefully rise in the pack structure.  He had no desire to challenge his father's authority in the future.

His father wanting to honor his son's wishes to leave began making calls, looking for packs that might be in need of a Bolverk with experience and dedication, eventually getting in touch with the Ulfric of Las Vegas.

Sounds awesome.  I would love to give you Bolverk right off the bat, but I just recently cleared the former Bolverk from her position. On the next Full Moon, you may be able to have your character challenge for a position.  That would be something to take up with Aiden, since he plays Ulfric. ^ ^

His loping stride has that certain indefinable swagger combat veterans possess, and his eyes constantly sweep his surroundings with an almost paranoid efficiency. Just about the only thing non-military about him is his hair, allowed to grow long enough to be put up in a simply braid, the bits just behind his eyes efficiently plaited and tucked back over his ears. His predominantly Scottish-American heritage shows through in his long face and stocky frame, as well as his penchant for using interjections in place of real words (i.e. "Ach" or "Psht").

The History

History:

Coming at out of Central Texas, Henry had a fairly normal childhood, apart from that homeschooling thing. Ever the escapist, he lost himself in fantasy epics and science fiction, as well as irregular walks in the scrubland that stretched for miles around his rural home. Later in his adolescence, he did a few semesters at a local community college, generally earning B grades, and a couple of A's in courses dealing with culture and history. Still, while his parents were keeping afloat after putting both his sisters through the same routine, he decided that he would earn his way ever after.

Given his family's history of service, speculated to stretch back to the Revolution itself, it was no surprise when he joined up in his father's service: the United States Marine Corps. Managing not to get himself blown up or shot, or falling to the deadliest of  Sand Land's dangers, extreme boredom, he returned to the States after two tours and flipped Uncle Sam the bird and got on with civilian life.

However, all was not well with our young Marine; like many other veterans, he had trouble adjusting to the normal routine of living in America. As a sort of therapy, he dusted off his old M class license and through himself into an environment more dangerous than any theater of war the US could offer: the highways of Texas. But even hours of riding down the Old San Antonio road would prove insufficient to end him.

After about a year of drifting hither and yon, an old squadmate called him up with a great plan: "Let's go cash in on Uncle Sam. Vegas, baby!"

Yeah, great plan. All he got out of two weeks of The Strip was a series of blackouts, hangovers, bar brawls, three parking tickets, and the loss of almost two thousand dollars all told. Oh, and a nasty bite from a lycan on a bet, the kind of gamble you only take in Vegas, while unspeakably drunk. He broke his "buddy's" nose over that one, seeing as how he'd started the whole mess.

And it only got worse, because after that, he wasn't exactly human anymore. A newly turned lycanthrope, unable to face his family because of the stupid nature of his infection, and when did it happen? Right when the local pack was falling all to pieces. When the only people who could help him were busy scattering to the four corners of the city and beyond. Still, never one to let adversity overcome him, Henry decided there was only one conclusion to reach: This Varian hombre was calling everyone to him, and those who didn't could either get dead or get the hell out of Vegas. He knew enough about lycanthropes to understand that not showing himself to the newly proclaimed Alpha would be as good as a spit in the eye, so he got an audience as soon as possible.

After a brief chat with the few Lukoi with any rank, the pack put him to work in an area he knew well, a mission that could be summed up as "Gather up the rogues. If they don't bend, fuck 'em up." Of course, they didn't send him out all alone, but set him to assisting the Bolverk as a strong right arm. This position became more permanent later when the pack made him Hati, Varian's bodyguard and a street enforcer.

Despite his relative 'youth' and inexperience as a werewolf, it made sense. His skills were well suited to the task; squad-level organization, a bit of wit, and a willingness to back it up with a gun or fist. After his adventures in the Land o' Sand, his ability to pick up on ambushes was sharp, turned even sharper with the heightened senses of his new species, making him an excellent bodyguard. Best of all he had no political or familial ties to get in the way of his job during the purges, and no resentments against Mengsk for his usurpation.

And hey, the pay didn't suck...

Well I can't technically answer your first question, since Aiden is in charge of wolves, and he may or may not have plans that I don't know about.  But from what I do know, we're looking for an increase in numbers, and these spots are worked out IC, so Aiden get's to decipher who's best for which position.  But if you have an eye on a position already, let Aiden know, and there may or may not be something that can be worked out.

Another thing is, Hamilton's werewolves aren't anti-technology or anything, are they? I haven't seen any mention of it, but that's a fairly common trend.

No they aren't anti-tech, so you can have him have a cell phone, Ipad, etc for gadgets.

I am completely content altering my history some.  I could still stick with the idea of Holdyn coming from the pack in Canada, just have it that it happened months back instead.

I am open to taking any spot within the ranks.  I do however have a fascination with the Bolverk.  Always found it a fascinating role in the pack of Anitaverse.  Especially when Anita was made the Bolverk.  The idea that there is a role for someone to do what the Ulfric won't.

If however you would prefer one of the upper chain of command spots filled first I can do that to.  Holdyn is pretty flexible when it comes to where he fits in.

My previous Boverk has not been active in a VERY long time, so I will open that spot for your character Deviant. You can add this to your history if you wish...

When Varian began his take over of the Nevada area he basically proclaimed submit (to the new pack) or die. So as Bolverk you would have killed a few. The brutality was used in order to weed out the threats to the new pack and even after that was done some of the current pack members where affected by losing family members.

Any other current plot lines running I can go into later when you get a chance to familiarize yourself with the game, don't want to overwhelm ya.

And I'm assuming that mine did the senior NCO thing and got organizing? I've already got something in mind for why he didn't go back to Texas, so he basically had nowhere else to turn, and in a "submit or die" situation he probably would've said "Shit on your orders," and got to work.

Sounds good to me. Since you are starting off established I'll add a few things.

Everyone busted their ass to get the Ranch (The pack house) up to work, skilled or not, everyone put in work to get the house. Everyone can live there, the place is huge enough to house everyone. The NPCs work the kitchen, the ranch itself has a stable which houses Don Minez (one of the older NPC members and guy who gave the ranch to the pack). There is always something to do, but everyone contributes differently. Don Minez is old school "everyone works, everyone eats" mentality.

Sophia (another NPC) is like "mama bear" so it really creates a "family" atmosphere.

So... I've not read any of the books, but am currently glancing over the Lycanthropes article on the Anita Blake wikia. From what I understand the werewolves can turn into a honest to god wolf or a man-wolf hybrid creature (a.k.a. the more "classic" werewolf). Is any more knowledge, beyond what the wiki(a) can provide, necessary to participate in this game?

Not really Hati, I am the GM of the game and have not read the books.

Unless you have been a wolf for a very long time, we do not have many "hybrids". The current Ulfric himself has no hybrid form.

So the younger (Or freshly turned) wolves are restricted from this. We are not a very combat oriented game so it does not really come up a lot unless you find a player who wants to have a showdown or fight with (then it is all handled OOC, since we are not a system game).

People's first impression is that she is flighty, but when they look closer they realize how wrong they were.

The History

History: Born and raised in Vegas she loved the desert and all it has to offer. Especially enjoying the solitude away from the feelings that press in around her all day, every day when she is around people. Her mother is a mild empath who taught her how to shield but when she does she feels as if she has lost one of her senses and so she walks a fine line between being overwhelmed by what she feels from others and cutting herself off from it entirely.

She has spent much of her adult life on the strip. It's the easiest place to get a job, and the best entertainments are there. She prefers jobs in the back offices, filing, typing, secretarial stuff that keeps her away from the heart of the casinos unless she's choosing to be there for her own reasons. Her gifts allow her to excel at games like poker where she can feel her opponents excitement no matter what is shown on their faces and she enjoys the shows that rotate through the different hotels. She enjoys the Bloody Fortune most of all. For some reason the emotions of the vampires there are quieter than those of humans. She can still feel them, but they don't beat against her, it's more as if they wish to keep to themselves more than human emotions.

While it's not peaceful exactly...it's calmer than any of the human hotels.

She's there often enough that many of the regular staff have begun to notice and remember her, greeting her like a regular and occasionally, even, propositioning her.

Being at the Bloody Fortune so often is how she'll come to the MotC's attention and Dart and I were thinking her secretarial skills would be her way into his little circle since he's said that he needs one. The rest will grow from there. :) Hope y'all like her!

Not exactly the tallest person in a crowd she makes up with platformed shoes in a variety of styles, as her mother says though Cara might lack in height but she makes-up for it looks and body. Normally seen in comfortable clothing she will dress professionally when on a job, always in earth tone colors Cara prefers dresses to pants a quirk she got from her mother who only wears pants when working in the kitchen. Always though her hair is loose and wild falling in thick gold waves around her, framing her face and giving her a slight alluring look that she is unaware of.

Her greatest talent though is the gift of Perspicuity, Cara is not affected by psychic or empathic powers, hypnosis, as well as illusions and deception. Mind readers only “hear” static. Hypnosis can work in a similar way, by fooling the psychic into thinking that no one is there.

Character Traits:Very loud and outgoing, she sometimes trusts to easily but soon learns from her mistakes.

Personality: Sweet and caring as well as open minded, Cara loves to be out with friends or out making new friends. She enjoys talking and is never without something to say.

The History

History:Born and raised in Las Vegas, Cara enjoyed the fast paced life of the city though whenever the family went out they always got odd looks. The young girl was adopted by a loving African-American family who could not have a child of their own, but a friend of theirs said that they could have her babe when she gave birth seeing how she couldn’t raise the baby on her own and wasn’t ready for a child. After they saw the small baby Michael and April knew that it was their daughter, so they ignored the harsh words and glares from some families who did not agree with the inter-racial family. The family was happy though and that is all that mattered, Michael worked as a backup dance for one of the many shows and April cooked at the hotel where they lived. During her teenage years Cara discovered her love of make-up and all things glamour whenever she went to her father’s shows, though later on she became a fan of horror films and dabbled in special-effect make-up. After high school she went to enroll in a near-by beauty school with the encouragement of her parents of course and their understanding that she didn’t want to go to college. So after a year of schooling Cara received her licenses for hair and beauty, yet after that she then went to several classes to learn about special-effect make-up a secret passion of hers, one could easily find the young blond at sci-fi conventions learning the tricks of the trade from the best. Since then Cara has been bouncing from job to job since many refuse to hire her due to her associating with those of the ‘undead’ status, though there are clients who enjoy hearing about the vampires that often hire the young woman.

Alysanthia, I like  your girl a lot.  Although you may want to keep in mind that all human characters need to be connected to the preternatural world in some way.  So making her a witch, or other 'talented' human will need to be necessary.

Personality: Generally a straight forward and honest man who speaks his mind, but knows his place. When the situation calls for it, he can be a bit cheeky or sarcastic, but usually in a mood lightening way; a habit picked up in the army to deal with emotionally hard to process situations.

The History

History:

Born and raised for most of his live in the Netherlands, Mark van der Vecht had always been a energetic and cheerful boy during his childhood. When he was sixteen, he moved to Paris in France due to his father, a seasoned military man, being stationed there for international military business on behalf of the Dutch army. There he joined a gang of youths calling themselves the Yamakasi, who were avid practitioners of Parkour. Seeing as he had always been the energetic outdoors type, Mark was quick to pick up the sport and become quite good at it.

After becoming legally of age when he turned eightteen, Mark moved back to the Netherlands in order to join the Marines. There he learned not only how to defend himself and dive, but also how to pilot a helicopter, becoming a more than valid asset to any team he would be assigned to. But years of hard training and brutal missions left him with some emotional scars. Not quite as innocent as cheerful as during his youth, Mark now had a more sober outlook in life as he passed into his late twenties.

During a training mission in the United States of America Mark was attacked and infected by a weretiger. Killing his attacker in combat, he was left wondering what his future would hold now. Being deemed "no major threat to human society" by the military lab experts after a trial period of three months, Mark was honerably discharged from the army. Deciding to seek out fellow weretigers, Mark remained in the US, traveling around the country. His travels eventually lead him to the city of sin, Las Vegas, where he joined the present weretiger clan's numbers.

The Deluca Family

The Family History: The Deluca Family were born and raised in Sicily by their mother. Their father had passed away when they were very young, and even till the day she died, it was something their mother would not talk about. The triplets learnt the value of working hard and making their own money, as their mother struggled to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. They were poor, but they were happy, each member of the family looking out for each other.

They were 18 when their mother died of a heart-attack. The doctors said that she had been born with a weak heart and that a life of hardship had been too much for her. Mama Deluca had not much to leave her children, but they sold the beat up old car and the tiny house they had all lived in all their lives and bought plane tickets to America.

They had not been there much longer than a few weeks when Belladonna got herself into trouble... the kind of trouble that would change all of them forever. She had been running off with a motorcycle gang in the evenings, against her brothers wishes. She always came back.. drunk and muddy, but she came back. One night, however, she didn't. The brothers spent all night searching, and when dawn broke they found her laying in a ditch semi-concious and looking like she had been savaged by a wild animal.

They tried to take her to a hospital, but she screamed and fought them, saying that they mustn't take her to hospital. It was then she told them how she had come to be attacked. One a few of the guys in the biker gang was a were-hyena, and things had gotten out of control during a bar fight. Belladonna had gotten herself caught in the middle and had been bitten.

Vittorio who had only just entered medical school patched her up the best he could. The stitches were amature at best and she still has the jagged scar along the length of her left arm to this day. All three decided that if Belladonna was in fact a were-hyena, then they would allow her to bite them and they would become weres too. They had spent all their lives being identical, and being as close as a family could get. They didn't want to break that bond.

The next full moon she shifted and attacked her brothers. As soon as their sister had bitten them, they locked the raging hyena in the basement and roughly patched up their wounds. Both of their scars on their left arm.

Enrico Deluca

Identity/position: Enforcer

The Appearance

Eyes: Dark Brown
Hair: Jet black and wavy, not quite reaching his shoulders and usually slicked back with gel.
Height: 6ft 6ins
Appearance: Enrico is an incredibly handsome man, and some say he would be beautiful if he smiled more. Or at all. He lives in expensive tailored suits and always prides himself on looking his best. Never a hair out of place nor a wrinkle in his suit. He has a long, messy scar on his left arm.

The bigger of the two brothers, his fur and patterning is also darker.

The History

History: Enrico had never done well at school. He was a smart kid, but he never really applied himself. He was always gettin into fights and having his mother hauled in to speak with the teachers nearly every week. It was only a matter of time before the angry Sicilan found crime. It was when he moved to Vegas, however that he got himself involved with the Mafia. A quick learner, a good fighter and a born criminal mind, it was not long before he was inducted as a soldato and he began to climb the ranks, making a name for himself. He is also the Enforcer in the local Hyena clan. He is known for having very... persuasive methods.

History: Unlike his brother, Vittorio was very attentive at school and was even considered a genius. From a very young age he wished to be a doctor and he worked hard to get there. With all the supernatural drama going on in his home life, Vittorio wanted nothing more than a nice normal work life. He managed to get into medical school and worked like a dog until he finally got his dream job. He also tends to were-animals who do not want the hospitals to know what they are.

Bigger than both her brothers and fur has a more golden tone.

History: Belladonna was an average student, but was an ace at athletics. Growing up with two brothers had her acting like she had something to prove. She had to be the strongest, the fastest and the most agile. Which came in handy when they moved to Vegas and Enrico used his Mafia connections to gain her work as a hired assasin. Her loyalty and dedication also earned her the position of Third in the Vegas Hyena Clan.
