Insecurity?

What is it with some players that seem to fill up their signatures with a long list of characters they are playing?
Is it some sort of role play equivalent to putting a notch on the bed head?
Is it some sort of popularity contest to show how fantastic they are?
Is it simply just the fact that they have over stretched themselves so much that they need to have a reminder of what games they are in and what they have called themselves?
Or is it a sign of a deaper insecurity, hoping that others will see them as something different to what they are or how they feel?

Or is there another reason for it that I am missing here?

I'm not wanting to be bitchy here, I just need to know.
I have no idea, not something I would contemplate doing and in my mind a waste of space and hinderance when reading postings.

So come on people, tell me, why do you put it in your signature?

Not insecure here. I do it so others can see where I am and what I am doing. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't know others reasons but that is mine. It's much the same as on the star trek sites I am on, you put your character name(s) and rank(s) in your sigs there.

Well, problem is that some lists are becoming longer than their posts.
It takes up more space than I believe is neccessary and spoils the flow and enjoyment of reading.

I suppose,
I'd much more prefer a spot in our profiles to list things like this personally than in our sigs.

Celestial Goblin

Personally, i have a lot of fun with reading othe people's games, so i
might see the profile to see more games a person had characters in.

Actually, both of you ladies had games that made me look for more...
Goth girl who met the 'real thing'...
Explorer of the lost city...

No need to be ashamed:)

As you can tell I have a couple other games in the works and they will be quite different than the ones I am in currently. Hopefully get my roar score turned around some. j/k

Oh where has my Rabbid Ferret gone.....*sigh*

But the fact is that you 'found' that without me saying I was playing it and it was there....

And the 'roar score' is another bain and soar point......doesn't mean a jot to me at all.

I am playing dom and sub roles here as well as lots that wonder in between.
Thats what this site is all about isn't it?
I'm here to explore different facets of myself and others. Some of these scenarios have been very hard for me to deal with, very much against my nature, hopefully I have managed to be convincing in my writing.

Perhaps...of course, if those with long .sigs would list two games/chars per line of .sig, that would reduce the problem by half while still allowing them to show off their many games.
