Old meme, I know, but I always loved it. ^_^

Get your ipod, pandora, MP3 player, online playlist - whatever - and shuffle it. Then, in sequence, type the name of the song and its singer next to the life experience. Add a comment or lyric where you want - does the song fit what you feel about that event? Mark it with a hit or miss, then tally them up at the end!

Opening Credits: Angelicus by Delerium - Hit

This is a really pretty one, with a woman singing wordlessly beside the techno music. Light and joyous without being too frivolous. A good way to start.

Waking Up:
Time To Pretend by MGMT - Hit

A song that sounds bubbly but when you listen to the lyrics turns out to be quite grim.

Yeah, it's overwhelming, but what else can we do.
Get jobs in offices, and wake up for the morning commute.

First Day At School: Control by Poe - Hit

Another quite grim song, but this one doesn't hide it behind boncey tunes. It's about having been torn to pieces, but refinding inner strength.

Dont you mess with a little girls dream
cause shes liable to grow up mean

Falling In Love: Mr Brightside by The Killers - Hit

Oh yes, defiantly the way I fall in love. Always with the person I can never have. Stupid heart.

Now they're going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it's all in my head
But she's touching his chest now
He takes off her dress now
Let me go

'Cause I just can't look
It's killing me

Breaking Up: She-spider by Mew - Hummm. Close enough. Hit

Again, quite spiffy how it throws up the right song. My break-ups can get nasty, but usually it's a drift-apart affair.

Because no one is safe
From someone somewhere's sweet embrace
And so I have simply decided to dislike you now

Prom: Through Glass by Stone Sour - Miss

A song of pining. The only pining I did at my prom was for the other girl's dresses. *smirk* Good song, though

An epidemic of the mannequins
Contaminating everything

Life is Good: Spiegelglas by Qntal - Miss

This sounds like a march, with a woman singing in some strange lovely language. I don't even know what it is she's singing about, but it's not exactly a good-life tune.

Mental Breakdown: Nothing Better by Postal Service - Miss

A break-up song, really. It's a duet, and very well done.

So just say how to make it right
And I swear I'll do my best to comply

Driving: Hanging By A Moment by Lifehouse - Miss

A fall-in-love song, about staying still. Well, in a sense you stay still when you drive, so it could work.

I'm living for the only thing I know
I'm running and not quite sure where to go

Flashback:
Bad Moon Rising by Rasputina - Miss

One of the darker songs on my playlist. Nummy stuff!

Hope you have got your things together
Hope you are quite prepared to die
Looks like we're in for nasty weather
One eye is taken for an eye

Getting Back Together: All The Same by Sick Puppies - Hit

I love this, it touches me every time I hear it.

Go ahead tell me you'll leave again
You'll just come back running
Holding your scarred heart in hand

Wedding: Chocolate by Snow Patrol - Hit

I'm not a believer in marriage. This song fits my feelings for it so well - I'd do it if it would make my partner happy, but I would still have to lie to do it.

This is the straw, final straw in the
Roof of my mouth as I lie to you
Just because I'm sorry doesn't mean
I didn't enjoy it at the time

Paying the Dues: Breathe Me by Sia - Miss

I do struggle getting through tough times, but I have only need a little help to get past them.

Be my friend

The Night Before The War: Proof by I Am Kloot - Miss

Yup, I'd drink on the night before a war.

Hey, could you stand another drink
I'm better when I don't think
It seems to get me through

Final Battle: Our Truth by Lacuna Coil - Hit

War-like rhythm, lyrics far from bloodthirsty but quite delightful in any case.

Can’t you turn it back?
Stop the cycle
Let it free
Run away

Moment of Triumph: Shut Your Eyes by Snow Patrol - Miss

A song about meditation. ¬_¬

Shut your eyes and think of somewhere
Somewhere cold and caked in snow
By the fire we break the quiet
Learn to wear each other well

Death Scene:
Make This Go On Forever by Snow Patrol - Hit

Break-up song, but a lovely one. I do like Snow Patrol's poetry.

This splintered mast I'm holding on won't save me long
Because I know fine well that what I did was wrong

...

And I don't know where to look
My words just break and melt
Please just save me from this darkness

Funeral Song: Angels by Within Temptation - Miss

I like the song, but for a funeral? No.

No mercy no more.
No remorse cause I still remember

The smile when you tore me apart.

End Credits: Sleep by Conjure One - Hit

An all right ending. A girl begging someone to sleep with her? Nummy.

Without sleep, there are no dreams
Without dreams
We fall apart at the seams...

In the end, it is ten hits to seven misses. Spiffy stuff.

Feel free to play as many times as you like, see if you can get a better score!

LadySky

Ok here I go, let's see what this wild playlist of mine comes up with!

Opening Credits~  Mi Mancherai by Josh Groban, Composed by Luis Enriquez Bacalov - Hit

Mainly an instrumental piece full of the Violin which happens to be my favorite instrument!

Waking Up~  Clair De Lune, Piano - Hit

I see myself slowly waking to the sounds of nature and rising to go watch the sunrise from my window as I sip my tea.

First Day At School~  Play That Funky Music White Boy by Adam Lambert - Hit

Surprising but I can so see myself listening to this to pump my ass up to face the horror that is school!

Lay down and boogie and play that funky music till you die!

Falling in Love~  Teddy Bear by Elvis Presley - Hit

Cheesy but I love it!

I don't wanna be your tiger, cause tigers play to rough
I don't wanna be your lion, cause lions ain't the kind you love enough
I just wanna be, your teddy bear!

Breaking Up~  Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Ray Charles - Hit

What better voice to mourn with than that of Ray Charles!

Someday I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops....

Prom~  The Twelfith of Never by Johnny Mathis - Hit

Only because I can picture me at a 50s prom wearing a big puffy skirt looking into my handsome greasy haird bo's eyes like a prom idiot.

Life is Good~  You Lie by Reba - Miss

OOPS, more like a breakup song!

Mental Breakdown~  Ever Ever After by Carrie Underwood - Miss

Well if I was loosing my mind I imagine I would hear something this horrible!

Driving~  My Front Porch Looking In by Lonestar - Hit

Awesome driving song!

I've traveled here and there and everywhere....
The mountains here....from sea to shining sea!

Flashback~  The Time of My Life by David Cook - Hit

His voice alone is perfect for a flashback! I can see my life in my head perfectly listening to this!

Holding onto things that have vanished have left me in pieces...
Take every moment and live it out loud...

Getting Back Together~  Deeper Than The Hollar by Randy Travis - Hit

Kinda crappy song but the words go well to a getting back together....

My love is
stronger than the river, higher than the pine trees growing tall upon the hill
longer than the song of the whiperwill...

Wedding~  Billie Jean by David Cook - Miss

As much as I adore this song, for a wedding? MISS

Paying the Dues~  Lucille by Kenny Rogers - Hit

As depressing a song as this is it fits pretty well!

You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille
Four hungry children and crop in the field
I've had some bad times, lived through some sad times
This time the hurtin wont heal

The Night Before the War~  Vogue by Madonna - Hit

I guess it depends on the kind of war LOL
Could practice my karate chops to this LOL

Look around it heartache, it's everywhere that you go
I know a place you can get away, it's called a dance floor...

Final Battle~  Hard Candy by Madonna & Justin Timberlake - Hit

Only got four minutes to save the world!

Moment of Triumph~  A Little Less Conversation by Elvis Presley - Hit

Well since he is demanding action it is a simple statement of, OK here is the moment of truth, Put Up or Shut Up!

Come on baby, I'm tired of talking...
All this aggrevation doesn't satisfy me....

Death Scene~  Stand by Your Man by Tammy Wynette - Miss

I could have seen this as my death song if I had stayed in my failed marriage, that man would have driven me to death....I left however!

Funeral Song~  Drowning Sucks by Dane Cook - HIT

Oh My Fucking God! I would love to play this at my funeral!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

End Credits~  If You See Her by Brooks and Dunn w/Reba - Miss

Nice song but for my closing credits?

AWESOME! 14 Hits! 5 Misses...
I dreamed a dreamed, life has killed the dream I dreamed. So....I dream a NEW DREAM!!! never let them see you cry.
