Lovely night, beautifully dark.
You entice me,
With dancing shadows and glowing moon.
You fascinate me, entrance me.
Expertly, you lure me.
Against you, I am helpless.

You are at once beautiful and terrifying.
Trapped in your grasp,
I completely alone, unable to see.
Never have I been so afraid and yet,
I am drawn in, ever deeper.

With the sun off our faces,
Nobody watches us.
Blessedly anonymous,
We have no parts to play,
No lines to read,
We become truly honest.

In the darkest moment, 
We bare our souls.
We sing the most beautiful songs,
Write the most elegant poetry.
Experience our greatest loves,
Commit our most heinous crimes.

The night offers no judgement,
Nor does it offer any salvation.
It is simply what it is.
When the whole world is black,
We can be only what we are.

Daytime is more dead than the night, my opinion. Everything is just so dull and boring but once night comes, everything that was so dead during the day is then so beautiful.
