The Tokken Schooling Program

There exists a school for the brightest boys and girls of their generation.  It's doors have been open for a proud hundred years, established with the best of intentions (and incredibly generous donations).  The greatest prodigies the country has ever known, all  to be placed under one roof.  The worlds youngest and most promising mathematicians, musicians, artists, athletes, and inventors: all interacting and working off one another.   

Thoughts and Hopes in relation to character creation:

Prodigy type:  The main focus here is making it varied.  I am pulling a little bit from Dangan Ronpa here in the sense that your character can be ANY kind of prodigy.  Yes, there are prodigies in art and music, but why CAN'T there be a prodigy in writing, or in baseball, or in fashion?  Have fun with it.  I want there to be as many different types of prodigies represented as possible.  So at least when we start out, I would rather that we get a good mix before doubling up.  For example, if we already have one art prodigy who specializes in sculpting, I'd rather we try out some new things before having another art prodigy who specializes in water colors. 

Country of Origin:  I love the idea of making this game as widespread globally as possible.  On that end, I would prefer it if characters come from a wide variety of countries, but their background be just from one.  IE: Your character being born in England, but your Mother being Japanese and your Father being American isn't going to fly.  I am perfectly fine with multiple characters being from the same country.

Name: Georgette "Gigi" Lemaire

Age: 16

Prodigy Type: Music (violin)

Personality: Gigi is an extremely shy and nervous sort of girl.  She is incredibly shy and is quick to bow down to those with more authority than her, or those who simply possess a louder voice.  A big fan of cute and feminine things, she is actually rather cheerful and happy-go-lucky when she gets to do something that she really enjoys.  Not used to being around people, the few people who Georgette does manage to befriend have her undying loyalty and gratitude.  There is a very real part of Georgette who believes that people are doing her a favor when they are kind to her.

Country of Origin: France

Background:Gigi discovered an innate ability to read music at an incredibly young age (and in fact learned how to read music before she learned how to read or write).  Her parents, upon discovering Gigi's gift, became extremely focused on utilizing her potential.  Choosing the violin for her, she started practicing at the age of 5. Most of Gigi's early childhood was spent indoors practicing.  They home schooled her, allowing them to focus even more of her time on music.  While her parents were never physically abusive, the love they bestowed upon Gigi was always conditional.  Whenever she made a mistake or gave a performance that was less than her very best, they expressed disdain and anger towards her.  By the time she enters the Academy, she has already toured globally, offering performances everywhere from Shanghai to Vienna.

1. Be respectful to yourself and other players.  This is a game.  We should be having fun.
2. No god-moding.  This is a game with characters who are incredibly gifted in one specific category, but even in that catagory they aren't gods. 
3. OOC chat should only take place in the OOC.
4. 1 post a week minimum, but if you need to take a leave of absence just inform the group and its fine
5.  Quality writing.  I expect a two paragraph minimum.  MINIMUM.

Other:
The game would start on the first day of the first year of schooling, so most characters would likely not know each other personally.  It makes a lot of sense for them to have heard of one another however. They would all have been sought out for the program (there is no way of actually applying.  You have to be chosen) but acceptance is completely voluntary.

I realized I may have miscommunicated a little bit.  I love the people who have sent me pms with their characters, but anyone can feel free to post their character ideas right here on the thread.  I know I've actually come up with fun ideas before just by reading other peoples characters, I don't want to deprive. 

If you would prefer to talk to me in private and get character approval before posting your character, that is perfectly fine as well.  Whatever everyone is comfortable with.

The answer to this question is yes.  I will be tossing minor events the story's way. Things like career day and other such themed events, but for the most part it will be a sandbox game.  Depending on the mix of characters that come up, I might also include a nice drama plot involving an  evil conspiracy.

Kenzie Robinson, Sports Teacher

Name:  Mackenzie Robinson
Age: 33

Prodigy Type: Athletics (Rugby)

Personality: Having both hurt others by accident and been hurt - rather severely - accidentally, Mackenzie has become very gentle in her dealings with others, both physically and otherwise. Her interactions with her students tend towards the more motherly, compassionate and caring at all times but stern when she feels that she needs to be - especially when it comes to the safety of her students, who are often quite surprised at how their usually gentle teacher snaps at them when she catches them being reckless. While the young are convinced that nothing bad can happen to them, Mackenzie knows differently and will not allow her children to hurt themselves through their own stupidity if she has any say in the matter.

Country of Origin: New Zealand

Background: Mackenzie was always a big girl, stronger than even she usually remembered or knew how to handle and accidents were quite commonplace, although luckily no one ended up seriously hurt because of her clumsiness and lack of control. Her introduction to the world of sports was rocky at first, her bulk and strength gave her definite advantages in several sports, but her lack of control more often than not held her back, and most traditional female sports lacked any real appeal for her.
Until she was introduced to Australian Rules Football. While the sport definitely made use of her size, it demanded precision and control and after losing once - in an especially humiliating game - Mackenzie threw herself into improving her skills and discovered her passion for the game. Between her natural abilities and her almost fanatical devotion to training and practicing, her skill improved dramatically as she moved from friendly matches with her friends to school and even national tournaments, competing in four national under 17 tournaments and being a substantial force in winning two of them. Only her drifting towards rugby during her few years at a certain school for prodigies prevented her from a proper career in the AFL, but more controlled than the before, she was as much a force to be reckoned with in her new field as her earlier one, and, if anything, the wider range of international fixtures - not to mention that rugby was an Olympic sport AFL wasn't - allowed her to pursue an even fuller career, with numerous matches at all levels, including an Olympic gold.
Unfortunately, rugby is a sport where injuries can happen and while she had grown used to the odd knock and occasional injury, the combination of a bad tackle and being caught under two other players ended her career. Mackenzie's leg healed up fine, but the news that, due to a few feet going in the wrong place, she was probably never going to have children hit her hard and she left the sporting world. At least until she was approached by her old school to teach the next generation of girls and boys. Initially hesitant, she soon found that her maternal instincts flared up around the students and has since become happy in her new role nurturing these young boys and girls.

Mai asked me a few questions, that I think merit a post here.

Location of the School:
The school is located on an island on the Pacific Ocean.  This is so that every single character is a fish out of water.  No locals present.   It is by no means isolated, there is a population that lives on the island separate from the Academy.  Going to places like a restaurant or a shopping center wouldn't be difficult. 

At what age are students recruited and how long do they stay there?
A student is only eligible for the Program at age 16.  They remain until graduation.

Are there npc prodigies with the same skills as playable characters, or are the characters the only ones representing their category?
That is just avoiding double up.  Although I am enjoying the idea of a 'battle royale' for team sports, it doesn't make much sense.  The school is a full school filled to the brim with a great number of prodigies in the same categories.  I am 100% alright with people taking that information and running with it.  Is your character the best chef prodigy out of all the other chefs at the school, or have they gotten into the program by the skin of their teeth? 
My in game explanation for this is that each country chose THEIR top prodigy of every given thing.  So while there is an entire team filled with cheerleading prodigies, there will no two from the same place.

Katelijn van Schoorl, cycling prodigy

Name: Katelijn van Schoorl

Age: 17

Prodigy Type: cycling

Personality: Katelijn (pronounced "kah-ta-LIEN") has a strong personality, perhaps a bit aggressive. She's used to working hard for what she wants, and looks down on people who are less than direct about what they're after. She's honest, straightforward, and unafraid.

Country of Origin: The Netherlands

Background: Katelijn is the daughter of two Dutch doctors, and grew up comfortably in her family home near Amsterdam. She developed a fascination with cycling (especially road racing) at a young age, and has been riding as long as she can remember. Her parents didn't approve of her single-minded focus on sport at first, but after her skill became apparent they reluctantly agreed to allow her to continue. She did quite well in junior races in the Netherlands, and so was scouted when the Tokken program needed another cyclist.

Katelijn has already made something of a name for herself as a road cyclist. In junior races, she distinguished herself as a team player and all-rounder. She seemed to be able to fit all of the roles cyclists usually divided into, equally capable of speeding through flat sections as climbing difficult hills, and always willing to draft for her group or help out a teammate who needed it. Her coaches have always encouraged her to focus on a particular specialization, but she remains determined to fight for the general classification (the overall winner of the race), rather than trying to focus on just winning sprints or climbs.

Outside of racing, Katelijn's life has been fairly normal for a girl her age. She does acceptably well in school, but never quite cracked the top academic echelons due to her focus on cycling. She discovered that she preferred girls fairly early on, but thus far has kept that secret from her parents, who she worries won't approve. She had a girlfriend back in the Netherlands, but they split up when she left for the school, as neither of them particularly wanted to deal with such a long-distance relationship at this time. When she's not cycling, she enjoys watching or playing other sports in a casual setting, sailing, and looks forward to being able to drive a car.

Sexual Preferences: pansexual, with a heavy preference for other women, or feminine-leaning people.

Name: Tsubaki Teno
Age: 16

Country of Origin: Osaka, Japan
Prodigy Type: Athletics (Martial Arts)

Personality: Tsubaki is crass and blunt, a straightforward type of person that says what is on her mind at all times. There seems to be no filter between her brain and her mouth. Some people appreciate her honesty, but it mostly just gets her into trouble. She is absolutely lazy unless it has something to do with martial arts. In all other cases she exhibits sloth-like behavior, prefering to take naps or cut class instead of doing actual work. If she applies herself she's actually pretty smart, but the only thing she really puts any effort to is martial arts. In a fight she's actually proven to be a pretty smart strategist, especially when she's figured out an opponent. Tsubaki likes to protect the weak, but it's not clear if it's out of any sense of justice or if she just really, really likes hitting people.

Background: Tsubaki was actually a pretty good student when she was a little girl. She was bright and cheerful and happy. That's when her world collapsed. Her father was an engineer for Atsuki Dynamics and on one special day he brought her to see his office. It was supposed to be just a tour of the office area and the break room (kids love vending machine snacks), but he was called away to the lab. A curious Tsubaki followed and entered the restricted area, causing a panic among the technicians which let to catastrophic failure and an explosion. The blast deafened her, blinded her in one eye, and did permanent nerve damage to her hands. She sat in a catatonic state in the hospital for a week, her mind broken by the incident. She was angry at herself, at her father for leaving her, at the world.

Her father felt guilty. Instead of visiting her in the hospital he worked tirelessly for two weeks on the Auditory Magnification Prosthesis - the AMP. The two cat-like 'ears' use magnetic waves that line up with small metal discs at her temples just under the skin to 'hover' around her head. The AMPs pick up ambient sound and through advanced technology that harnesses a kind of audio echolocation, transmits them to Tsubaki so she can hear. It's genius technology, but prohibitively expensive and unfit for mass marketing, rendering Tsubaki's set almost the only one in existence. She was grateful to be able to hear again, but was still angry. She lashed out and became delinquint. The only focus she could find was martial arts, which she was introduced to by her uncle. A practitioner of kendo, judo, and jeet kune do, he taught Tsubaki everything he knew. The girl took to it like a fish to water. She quickly became a renowned martial artist at a young age and began winning tournaments (and street fights) one after the other.

Name: Abriana Zeppeli

Age: 17

Prodigy Type: Occult

Personality: Normally very quiet and soft spoken, on the surface Abriana appears to fit a very stereotypical image of an macabre enthusiast: dark clothes, disheveled hair, dark, tired eyes from many sleepless nights. Some even claim to feel a dark aura or sudden chill whenever they get close to her. She has a very eccentric way of speaking, and is at the best of times socially awkward, and at worst completely inept. All of these things tend to distance her from others, even when she finds herself in the spotlight for interviews and tv appearances. However deep down she has a gentle, even motherly personality, though this can often times manifest in strange, somewhat creepy ways even when interacting with people's she's usually comfortable with. Having allegedly been the host for visiting spirits on several occasions, she has picked up several ticks, compulsions, and other eccentricities, left over influences from the spirits who have inhabited her body as she explains it, and may even sometimes break out into eclectic fits or begin muttering to herself in gibberish, or worse, proper languages that she other wise professes to have no fluency in. 

Country of Origin: Italy

Background: Having been born in an average, middle class home in Sicily, Abriana has reportedly been in tuned with the supernatural since a young age. When she was younger she spent much of her time with her grandmother, who lived with them in the same house, a superstitious old woman who would fill Abriana's head with all kinds of ghost stories and legends. Everything from foreign tales of voodoo and possessions, to personal accounts of strange occurrences she herself had encountered as a little girl. This early exposure instilled within her a fascination in all things paranormal, so much so that after her grandmother passed she believed herself actually capable of speaking to her from beyond the grave, and would often spend many hours in the family attic doing just that. Throughout her school days she researched all sorts of different cultures and phenomenon, though this ended up ostracizing her from her classmates, who believed the girl creepy and dangerous. Often rumors would spread about her trying to put curses on other students, or rounding up animals from around the school to torture and kill for strange rituals.
However she didn't receive any proper renown until around middle school, where an "incident" at her family's home ended up on the state news. Reportedly Abriana had been possessed (or undergone an intense fit of hysteria resembling as such) and it had taken 3 police officers and Catholic priest to properly calm her back down to normal. This caused all kinds of buzz for a time, and she found herself being reached out to by news studios, paranormal investigation groups, and occult hobbyists. Spurred on by this burst of recognition she was touted as a proper medium, someone who could contact the dead and conjure spirits, and has been featured on several ghost hunting shows as a result. While her field of expertise is rather..."questionable" in it's validity, the sheer amount of knowledge she has in regards to foreign cultures and mythology alone make her more than qualified for the title of prodigy.

Name: Nanase Kousaka (western spelling)

Age: 17

Prodigy Type: Math

Personality: Nanase is probably the most trusting, innocent and ditzy person in the world. If she's supposed to steal some candy from a child, she would be the one robbed by the child instead. And later she would tell her misadventure with a smile in face.

The way her mind works isn't so far from an infant. Everything amazes her. The world is a big playground, where she could live many, many adventures. She have a unquenchable curiosity and she's always asking questions about how stuff works. However, she's easily scared and respects authority from elder people (even if the elder in question is just a few days older than her). Nanase have trouble to fit into social customs, because she simply can't understand them.

She does have an amazing proficiency in mathematics. Nanase can make complex operations with big numbers in her mind, pretty much like a calculator. Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, there's no field that hold any mystery for the girl. If it does, she can learn it secrets quickly. Nanase can't develop new theories in math yet, but this is more due to her personality and character than anything else. It's almost like she doesn't have conscience of her own gifted skill and what she can do with it.

Country of Origin: Japan

Background: Nanase had a pretty common life until her parents became concerned about her childlike behavior. She always had almost perfect grades in math, but, besides that, nothing indicated she was a genius in that area. It was her therapist, a math enthusiast, that first discovered her gift. Oh, and he found nothing wrong with the girl's mind. Counseling her parents to foster Nanase' skills, he indicated the Academy. After an entire year working hard, Nanase made the entrance exam and finally earned her place in the school.
 
Sexual Preferences: Bi-curious. Her innocent, carefree demeanor pervades in how she deals with most aspects of her life, even sexual ones. She's a naturist by heart and doesn't have any inch of shame into exposing her body, though she would never do that to seduce anyone. Neither she understands the perverted or reproachful stares she might earn for that. Nanase doesn't know much about sex, since she's still a virgin. In her most deep conception, it's something harmless and fun that very close friends (or couples in love) do. She loves to masturbate and she usually does that fantasizing about getting naked in a very crowded place.

Correct use of words is important! You can keep a parakeet as a pet, but I'd not want to try it with a paraquat, for example!

Mai and Missfire: I did want everyone to be in the same year originally, that way at the very least I can shove everyone in the same homeroom, and I have the ability to finangle around with solely year 1 plots.  That being said, I won't forbid second year students from existing.  Just be aware that somewhere down the line a subplot might form that your character wouldn't have access to, and you'll need to be alright with that rather than ask to be the second year exception.

Does this mean that Nanase can only be good at one type of math? Or Abriana can only be good with one area of the occult? These things Tsubaki are good at are kind of parts of the same whole. Fighting. It's not like she's going to be kung-fu'ing everything anyway, or that this is a game based around fighting, so why not? I'm not against changing it so she specializes in just one, it just seems like an odd limit to have. I'd get it if I said 'she's a martial artist AND expert computer hacker!' or something, which might eat into another character's specialty or something,  but she's just good at martial arts. Also, no, she doesn't have super hearing. They're just a device that lets her actually hear.

And she doesn't have to be a second year. I just don't really fancy her being 16. Isn't 17 the minimum age on the forums anyway? I thought that was the rule or something if characters were going to be engaging in explicit behavior? Maybe you can just bump the starting age up to 17 or 18? There's already like three people who put seventeen down as age anyhow.

The stuff that I mentioned about her first year at the school can still be happening offscreen, since most of the game won't be about each person's individual field but rather how they interact with other talented youngsters.

Missfire: No, but is the same situation when it comes to sports.  Someone could make themselves a prodigy athlete from everything from basketball, to football, to tennis. Rather than have that be the case, I'm limiting it down to one.  I've done it to myself as well. My own character is limited to the violin, I'm not about to make her equally brilliant in all forms of music.  That's not to say that your character CAN'T know other forms of martial arts.  By all means, she can.  I'm just saying that there can only be one form that she could be considered a genius in.

Characters at age 17 are fine.  This is in regards to playing a second year.  A character can be in their first year and be 17. 


As for Elliquiy rules....to quote, "1) All sexual role playing and sexual storytelling must involve physically and mentally mature characters. They must be sixteen years of age or over, and/or the physical and mental equivalent. Banned role playing and story subjects include lolicon, shotacon, or any other form of sexualizing prepubescent minors."

... I didn't even notice that. But that only makes it better. And yeah, gym sounds appropriate for her. And, I forget what it was called, but the health/sports sciences class that my school had. The theory side to go with the practical in gym.

Name: Laura Smithson

Age: 16

Prodigy Type: Gymnastic (Floor)

Country of Origin: Manchester, England.

Sexual Preferences: Isn't quite sure as she hasn't had the time to fully explore. All she knows is that she likes the look of people regardless of their actual gender.

Personality: When people first meet Laura she seems cold, distant and seemly unsympathetic. If anything she is the opposite. Once people get past the chilly outside they will see that she is a sensitive soul who is a perfectionist to a fault and socially awkward. She is kind and helpful when needed and isn't the type to sit idly by if she sees a wrong being committed.

Background: The child of two fitness coaches, Laura has never had an easy life. From the moment she was able to attend children gym classes she has been pushed to do so, even when she hadn't wanted to go. She has had a very strict upbringing in terms of schedule with little to no room for much of a social life and utter control over her diet. Her parents have been openly criticised in the media for the treatment of Laura but according to child welfare laws they have committed no crimes. At school, people have been too afraid to approach her and have only done so if they needed to. This has just added to her lifelong isolation and given her a bad reputation of being "unapproachable."
So far she has managed to gain many awards and trophies in different contests and is currently under training for the young adult Olympics "Floor" category. Even though she is considered an "up and coming" star it is her parents who have always done the speaking on her behalf claiming her to be "too shy." Personally, Laura has given up on even trying to speak in public as it is clear her parents want to take credit for her success.

Personality: Confident, assertive and unpredictable was how people would describe Jules. His leadership could be seen in the field, the boy full of confidence as he calls out instructions to his peers and boys of other ages. Jules possesses a daring streak, unafraid to try new things and do his best at them, although Football was the only thing he truly excelled in. Jules has proven his loyalty by choosing to play for his hometown club, Olympique Marseilles, upon graduation and being ready for the First Team. That does not mean that he wasn't ambitious, and beyond sports, Jules has plenty of interests to pursue during his free time, girls being one of his favorite types. Background: Born in Marseilles to an family of footballers dating three generations back before the Second World War, Jules was trained and raised in a footballing culture since the age of four. He could also defend well, making him a total footballer with the ability to excel in any position. Jules eventually chose the versatile Midfielder position as a Playmaker, using his knowledge of defending to play reverse psychology with opposing defenders, and the habits of attackers to both improve his attacking play as well as disrupt moves by the opposing team.

When he was thirteen, Jules was sent to Clairefontaine. Many top clubs tried to sign him into their youth ranks, including FC Barcelona and Manchester United, during his time in France, but Jules ultimately chose Tokken as his destination upon graduation at the age of fifteen. Missfire: No, but is the same situation when it comes to sports.  Someone could make themselves a prodigy athlete from everything from basketball, to football, to tennis. Rather than have that be the case, I'm limiting it down to one.  I've done it to myself as well. My own character is limited to the violin, I'm not about to make her equally brilliant in all forms of music.  That's not to say that your character CAN'T know other forms of martial arts.  By all means, she can.  I'm just saying that there can only be one form that she could be considered a genius in.

Personality: Ryuji is a sociable guy, someone that's willing to strike up a conversation with someone if he thinks they seem interesting or someone that would interest him in some way; however when not talking to others, onlookers have been told that when alone, Ryuji has a cool and mysterious aura that attracts others to him. He's used to having people flock to him due to his current status as a high profile idol in Japan, but people are polite enough to leave him alone and not ask for autographs or such on normal days, though sometimes some people came seem to help themselves. He's a person that's seen in a kind light, never showing his temper unless provoked by someone, and can be described as a caring and polite man that can charm just about any girl; despite the claim, Ryuji never flirts with girls because he feels like it's rude, however if there is someone that he thinks is pretty or beautiful, he'll politely tell them rather then goad them to go out with him like some people he's seen do on occasion.

Country of Origin: Japan

Background: Ever since Ryuji had been a child, he had always loved the feeling he would get from seeing people perform on stage, singing their hearts out with great veracity and enthusiasm. Seeing them sparkle and shine on stage was something that he always wanted to feel, and it became even more apparent when he saw the way the Idol culture in Japan grew, with groups and artists popping up left and right! When Ryuji was around 12, he began to train with a voice trainer and began to practice his vocals, all while entering competition after competition to be contracted by a talent agency. For a year or so, there had been no luck, until one day he had finally one a high ranking contest, and was given a contract to work with. His manager originally thought he wasn't going to be anything special, but as soon as Ryuji released his first single, his sales went way up, and sales were on fire. He was scheduled TV appearances straight away, and with more and more exposure, Ryuji, at age 14, was a rising idol within the idol community.

Since then, his activities have become less common due to having been enrolled in a new school, but as of late, he's gained a wide fanbase ranging from all around the world, and has even gotten the chance to perform in big arenas and stages, such as the Tokyo Dome. Despite having such fame in the singing industry however, Ryuji's main focus is modeling and acting, with singing only being his sidejob when modeling is minimal.

Prodigy Type: Archery

Personality: Logan is somewhat social, once he gets to know a person he will open up quite a bit more and be glad of their company and want to spend time with them, he loves being precise in most of the things he does and will always strive to make sure that everything is as perfect as it can be, if he gets something wrong or does something incorrectly he will keep trying till it is correct, this can bleed over into his social life and he will try to make sure that his friends like him and enjoy his company, if someone dislikes him he may keep attempting to befriend them or get them on neutral terms at least, only in certain circumstances will he deem it impossible and give up, though if he does he gets slightly angry and will throw himself into perfecting other things.

Logan can act somewhat cocky if he believes that whatever he is doing he can make a show of it to impress others, sometimes in an attempt to seek out recognition or approval he will do silly things that may or may not work.

Country of Origin: England (Oxford)


Background: Logan was born in oxford to quite a wealthy family which allowed him to be tutored privately by many teachers with many specializations. as a small child his parents instilled in him that if something was not perfect it probably was not worth having or doing, his teachers reinforced this in his school work and ever since he was young that's what he believes to his core. When he was about 10 his uncle came to visit and gifted him a small bow tailored for him. His parents thought nothing of it and still tutored him with private teachers in academic curriculum.

From then in his free time he would practice with the bow he received for years, over time he showed improvement, his parents noticed how he had improved and how serious he was about it and so they hired a private tutor for him in this regard also, much to Logan's dismay as he protested that he did this for fun and not for perfection yet his parents did not listen and told him that if he was to practice this he would practice to perfection.

Now at age 17 he has become very proficient with the bow and still enjoys using it, practicing several hours each day, he is capable of using several types of bow, doing "trickshots" and having having a certain stillness, grace or aura when he is doing archery.

prodigy: science (Chemistry)

Personality: Jack is fairly quiet and awkward when you first meet him, but as he grows more and more comfortable, he begins to let loose and show off how he really is. He is very very clumsy when it comes to walking. Also, he always will be timid and shy around any woman he likes. But more importantly than all of this, Jack is insane (not literally). He has few qualms with attempting things that put him or someone else at risk of injury, and has a strange way of messing up, or not taking sound advice he is given, and taking awful advice, and making it work. Jack can seem like he doesn't like someone he actually cares deeply for, and often feels very lonely because he always seems to drive people away from him. Jack is also awful at keeping secrets unless explicitly told that it is a secret. Jack is also amazing at history and geography, being able to name almost every nation in the world, their date of independence, and all the nations they border from memory. Jack likes to tell himself he can cook, but really can't.

Country of Origin: Australia (Tasmania)

background: Jack was born into a small family in northern Australia, being the youngest child of the litter. His older brothers would often tease him and bully him relentlessly, to the point where Jack wouldn't even leave his room. Jack, in his solitude found a dusty old chemistry set, and began to play with it. Soon enough, he discovered the potential hidden within the simple elements in the kit and the materials around him, and began to plot his revenge for all the years of bullying. He made a bomb, and was promptly arrested by the Anzac authorities, and shipped to an institution for troubled youngsters in Tasmania. this was when he was 9. Jack spent several years in Tasmania, discovering his natural talent for Chemistry. (the Anzacs never told Jack how powerful the bomb he made was, so he had no idea the extent of his chemistry skill until he began to do it more) Over the years, Jack became more and more independent and started to rebel against the strict lifestyle he had been subject to. He began to dye his hair purple, and wear matching clothes, but the Australian government decided to accept this (he was in containment in a Federal Australian Institution; they would regularly require people to wear uniforms) as to keep him there for his chemistry prowess, often times having him complete complex experiments and trials which were actually things nobody else in the country was able to do, and he had no idea. His most notable accomplishment was most probably his work on creating an alternate form of rocket fuel that was almost 10 times as effective as the current Australian space program had, giving them the ability to launch more satellites. It was on his 15th birthday that he received his invitation to join the school, and spent just over a year getting processed and tried to learn a bit of Japanese along the way.

Personality: Ida can be a particularly shy girl, not use to the limelight, so to speak, that came upon her in recent years. She's pretty open when it comes to one-on-one interactions with people, or when in small groups, with big groups, she gets a bit more closed off and distant. Ida is very kind, often times she has been told that she's too kind, seeing as her kindness has gotten her into some precarious situations before. But she also has a slight anger issue, when she sees others being bullied or looked down upon, she will speak up and get fierce. Sometimes, she has a hard time fighting this anger, especially when she is hungry or feeling caged. Ida also has a phobia of being in small places, such as elevators and tiny classrooms.

Country of Origin: Denmark (Copenhagen)

Background: Ida's family used to be close, but when her brother was born five years ago, her father became prone to spouts of anger and yelling. He never got violent, but his yelling was what drove Ida to running. Running was a way she could escape her home life. She'd often leave in the early morning and not return until it was time for school, then after school, she'd stay out until way past her curfew. She often got in trouble for this, yelled at by both her mother and father, but she didn't pay them any mind. She would tell them she was practicing for track and field in school, which eventually said lie became truth. It came one day after school, she ran into her gym teacher, quite literally, accidentally causing quite a scene as she had not been paying attention to where she was running.

She also showed love for swimming, but it was running that really freed her, what really made her break out in bursts of laughter and happiness. There was nothing like it, there was nothing better, in her mind, than running. Feeling the wind in her rather short locks, winding its way around her and sometimes propelling her forward. It was this talent that got her recognized by so many, something she was definitely not use to, especially since the birth of her brother. She'd gone basically unnoticed for so long, unless she did something wrong, and now here.. She was being noticed.. It was such an odd feeling for her.

Here's my other character!

Name: Honoka Kansho

Age: 16

Prodigy Type: Costume Design/Fashion

Personality: Right from the get-go, Honoka is a sociable and outgoing girl, with tons of energy and friendly charm with bunches to spare. She's kind and friendly to people, wanting to get to know others and make new friends, and is willing to help others when they need something. There are some times where Honoka can seem a bit too rambunctious or energized, but that's simply because of her excitement towards making new friends and seeing new things, only because where she lives is not as exciting as most places. On some days, you can see her have loads of energy, but that doesn't stop her from taking a breather to have a calm and relaxing day to herself, or even having a lazy day and sleeping in all day! It all depends on how she feels, but be forewarned, if anyone messes with her or tries anything, she's a ticking time bomb ready to hit back just as hard, and then some! All in all, she's a kind and caring girl with loads of passion and excitement towards what she wants to do, and nothing's going to get in her way, no matter what!

Country of Origin: USA

Background: Rather then having the exciting and amazing life living in the heart of Tokyo when she moved with her parents, Honoka  actually ended up in the real areas of Japan when she moved, with little to no technology, and having to commute about two to three hours just to even get close to the city life. Despite that, Honoka was always an interested and fascinated girl when it came to the beautiful and amazing designed kimonos that would be made by her mother in the shop her family owned. As a child, she would always have fun with picking out patterns and getting to choose them for her mother when she was sewing, and after a few lessons and some time in school, Honoka began to even help her mother when she went into Junior High.

It was then that her passion for designing clothes came to be, along with some interests in making cosplay from anime that she watched on some occasions.

With a goal in mind, Honoka poured all of her energy into making costumes, with blood, sweat, and tears ((None of them actually other then tears)) proving her commitment with such a task. With her skills, she helped her school with plays in theater, and even entered in some competitions and won awards that gave her money for scholarships to save up for. As she kept continuing, her skills became more and more honed, with her costumes and outfits becoming more and more detailed and elaborate as time went on. However as she soon later left the house to get her own apartment at the age of 16, she realized that she wasn't going to have enough money for food, her rent, or her supplies for her designing. Becoming desperate, and with no other options due to the legal age of working for teenagers needing to be 18, Honoka began to dabble in online sexual roleplaying for money. Simply writing out scenarios and getting requests to write out scenes with others was giving her good cash, and after some time, and a bit of curiosity and experimenting, Honoka went farther and decided to try her luck at being an amateur cam girl, blurring out her face and recording herself in one of her costumes that she designed and made. It made a huge hit, and after gaining at least three weeks worth of money for one night, Honoka continued her double life as a cam girl, experimenting with sexual favors and requests to gain enough money for her everyday needs.

Personality: Having been quite sheltered for his life, and not having had bad experiences teach him otherwise, Finna is very idealistic and trusting. He's not, by any stretch, stupid, just extremely naive and easily led, believing the best of others even when he probably shouldn't - he still hasn't realised that those nice people on the internet who told him how pretty he was had less than pure reasons for asking for pictures of him in various outfits. And in no clothing.
Still, he was happy to oblige, flattered and enjoying the attention, not to mention that he has trouble saying no to pretty much any request made to him.
Spending most of his time in his house alone, he never really got conventional rules of dress and habitually both crossdresses and spends time nude, seeing nothing wrong with either state of dress - female clothing just feels so much more comfortable, not to mention that he likes to feel pretty now and then, reasoning that also applies to his naturism. A nice warm house does rather remove the need to dress, after all, and he has no sense of shame when it comes to his body.

Country of Origin: Iceland

Background: The only child of a single mother, Finna struggled with poor health from a very young age and while his mother was there for him whenever she could be and arranged for his education, he spent much of his time alone with both her books and clothing. While she was no doubt surprised to come home to find her son in one of her old dresses, the fact that he had, somehow, taught himself the basics of English by the age of seven was the larger surprise. While she left Finna to decide just how feminine he wanted to be - it turns out the answer is 'very' - his mother did what she could to encourage and help his studies of other languages. Being fluent in five language by the age of nine attracted attention, but Finna was sheltered from that attention, his mother worried for her frail son.
While both would probably have preferred if he stayed in his familiar home, Finna's mother was well aware that she simply didn't have the resources to help her son any further, and gently pushed for him to accept the invitation from the Tokken School came in despite the long-term illnesses that often leave Finna exhausted or simply in pain.

johnny: While I am fine with Logan coming from a family that allowed him private tutors, I need to know that you aren't going to make him perfect at everything, and know that he's at a school where there will always be someone who is just about always better at him than everything other than archery.  Otherwise, approved. 

I never intended for him to be perfect at everything, sorry if it appeared that way, it was more that his family pushed and still pushed him to perfect what he does and moreso that he may be educated and get A-B grades he still is not the best and probably never can be, but upbringing makes it expected.

Background: Yukio originates from a multi-generational Japanese family that has been on the Hawaiian Islands since the late 1890s.   Unlike many prodigies, Yukio's ability didn't manifest until his thirteenth birthday . . . and is one he regards as both a blessing and a curse.   Being able to remember everything that he's experienced (irregardless of sense) has made him a bit on the withdrawn side; as everything that has ever happened to him since his thirteenth birthday can not be forgotten.   Yukio remains externally pleasant, even cheerful, but tends to isolate himself whenever possible.   He also tends to sleep more than most people (preferring to skip class in order to hide in the library for some serious napping) as well as seeming to require more (usually sugary) calories.

I thought that "Prodigy" meant a Subject Prodigy? Like, Chemistry, Writing, Football, Music, etc etc, rather than a skill like "Perfect Memory?" I could be mistaken here, but my understanding of the concept was that it was Prodigy Level Skills focused on one specific subject rather than a skill that could apply to pretty much any academic field.

This premise reminds me of an Ecchi/Harem anime called R-18 (I think, please don't quote me on it) It is about a very prestigious school where young prodigies of every field attend with full scholarships. It doesn't matter what you're prodigy of, just that you're the best at it. Well the Protagionist was a student that is a prodigy Erotica writer. Pretty much turning any scenario, and putting everyone into an erotic scenario.

course, it being a ecchi/Harem anime he somehow attracts all these girls into his harem, but the series's heroine is someone he can't put into such a situation for what ever reason. I only watched a couple of episodes to see what it was about. Pretty generic if you ask me

Personality:  Sunshine has a cocky sense of entitlement, also, she has a god-complex and hides it well. On the surface she seems like a humble and modest young woman, but when it comes to a one-on-one convo or people she's known for a bit, her true colors are revealed.

Country of Origin: UK

Background: Her mother was American and her father Russian. Her mother had a career as a successful actress and her father as a highly sought out photographer. In their line of work, they were constantly in the spot light and had to deal with the media. It got to the point that they started to put on fronts, fearing that the media will paint a bad picture for them. So, once they finally had a child, they realized their fault and raised Sunshine to be honest with people. But due to being the only child of a famous couple, she was spoiled and developed a bit of a princess complex. She exposed herself to being just as privileged and nasty as she seemed. Her face was ruined by the media at such a young age, that her family moved to Japan. There, Sunshine fixed herself. And there her career picked up. She seemingly came back to the UK after a year of deep rehab and at the same time her career picked up. It wasn't long till she was noted for what she truly was, a goddess among men. Completely disregarding her past mistakes.
