The Premise:
The year is 2120, Werewolves revealed themselves to the world 100 years ago, but they still live very private and sectioned off lives from humans. For multiple good reasons, though primarily to keep humans safe from their complicated lives.



It’s now understood why the world famous prestigious university known as Sarcina is so ultra exclusive that it’s nigh unheard of for non-legacy’s to get in… every single student and teacher is a werewolf. A university exclusively for werewolves to safely seek excellent higher education before they came out to the world.

That’s not to say that werewolves are forbidden from human contact, not at all, they are free to go and live where they wish… though most of them are uncomfortable living amongst humans and tend to stick with their own clans in werewolf territories within whatever country they are native to.

Seven werewolf clans throughout the world making up the werewolf global population... Lunarclaw, Lunaflame, Direfang, Glacierclaw, Bramblethorn, Kiba no Meiyo and Colmillos dorados ... all of them noble and proud in their own way, but they've come to realize a serious problem in the last eighteen years...

No new children have been born, not a single one in the entire werewolf population around the world, in the long stretch of eighteen years... research and in depth testing on the troubling matter has revealed to the werewolves a sudden and mysterious decline of fertility among their females. Not even the most brilliant of the Lunarclaw Clan scientists could pinpoint the source, but it was clear they would have to find a new solution or quietly fade away into oblivion.

The Lunarclaw werewolves brought forth an idea to a board consisting of elders from each of the clans... a practice that had once been frowned upon in the past, but would now prove the salvation of the werewolf species....

Mating with humans...  the werewolf genes were dominant, so any children conceived would be born werewolf, their genes thankfully prevented the genetic dilution that resulted in halfbloods in other species.

However, they didn’t want just any human floozy off the streets, it was important that their future generations had the best chances their parents could give them, especially with their declining numbers. Their society HAD to be successful, their situation left no room for error.

Sarcina Academy Headmaster and leader of the Lunarclaw clan, Rafaello Myst, met with world leaders on behalf of the other clans, it was agreed by all that females around the world with a completed high school education and a clean record would be issued the opportunity to attend the university of Sarcina on all expenses paid scholarship and while there, be courted by the young unmated males. Rafaello was perfectly on board with the request that the females involved would be given all the power to accept or reject a werewolf’s courtship if he did not please her.

These ladies have the first year of attendance at Sarcina to allow the young virile werewolf males, of age and yearning a mate of their own, to get to know them and court them, ultimately completing the courtship by placing a mating mark upon the base of their necks... or the lady in question unwilling to choose a wolf mate by the end of the time period are sent home to make room for the next names on the university’s waiting list. Certain extensions can be permitted for willing women that just haven’t met the right wolf yet.
If the choice is made to accept a male and take his mark, the female will enroll as a permanent student and continue attending Sarcina will all the status and perks of being a highborn werewolf's mate.


Again, please read thoroughly. This keeps everything peaceful and civil in the OOC to avoid drama/issues and enable everyone to just relax and have a great time. I apologize if some rules come off a tad aggressive, I just want to avoid some huge problems that have come up before, don’t take it personally.

Rules:

Because every game needs some structure and boundaries

1. Do not argue in the OOC. If you have a beef with someone, you take it to PM (including the the GM. My word is law in this game, any decisions I make in disputes will be concrete. I encourage individuals to contact staff members if situation becomes too much to handle.

2. No godmoding. Do not control another character unless you have received permission to perform whatever action it is.

3. No metagaming. If you do not know what meta-gaming is, that is where for example… say a character has this great big carefully kept secret, right? Well, if another character were to out of no where somehow know their secret or ‘get lucky’ without having even remote possibility of logically knowing the character’s secret… that is meta-gaming. It’s not cute, don’t do it.

4. While I am giving you some freedom in how this will go, the GM has final say. If I say something can not be done, I expect you to follow it and/or accept whatever compromises I attempt to make if I happen to feel that some can be made. I don't wish to stifle your creativity, but I will not give up control of my story either. So if you are told that something can not be done, do not argue with me in the matter please.

5. Send the CS's to LamentingQuill for approval, do not paste on this thread.  Label it Sarcina Academy and your character’s first name.

6. You are welcome to approach players for connections within the game, but please respect them if they say no or wish to think about it. Do not pressure your fellow players.

7. Only two female student character is allowed per writer on a temporary basis, you may create as many males as is within your capability to successfully control. The restriction on females per player will change depending on necessity. For now, it's two female students and however many males you think you can handle without overwhelming yourself.

8. Under no circumstances is a male to attempt to force himself on a female character unless this has been agreed upon by both parties. (In these situations, it is required to clear this with me first)

9. Absolutely no character deaths without target player's permission and discussing it with GMs first.

10. Obeying by Elliquiy rules, children are NOT to be included in any kind of sexually intimate scenerio or exposed to it. Violation of this will have the offender reported immediately to Elliquiy staff. Do not be that sicko.

11. Please review the approved character list before requesting a specific place in your clan's society and if it ties you with a person, ask them if it is alright.

12. Alphas are strictly GM controlled, players may apply for offspring of Alphas, but are extremely highly encouraged to seek GM approval for that before filling out character sheet. This is in case more than one person requests family relations to the same Alpha.

13. Please do not treat this game like an excuse for a werewolf porno while your characters jump from bed to bed, this is intended to be a romance. (But not like Twilight *shudders*)

14. More of a request than a rule, but… coming to the game on a friend’s recommendation is all well and good, but please, I ask that you do not join only because of your friends presence within the game. If they drop and then you drop too as a result because they aren’t here anymore, that hurts the roster quite a bit and potentially leaves other writers hanging.



Join because you like the game and it’s story. That’s all I ask.

Questions I anticipate could be asked and my answers

How do werewolves age?

Werewolves age normally up until the age of eighteen, from there they age only one year per ten years that pass. Upon placing the mating mark upon selected female, the female will gain this longevity as well.

How will werewolves mark their mates?

A bite mark on the base of the neck, the bite marks will have the male's scent permanently embedded within it to let all other males know that the female is claimed and by who. Think of it like a werewolf wedding ring.

What happens after a female takes a male's mark? Will they stay in their separate dorms?

No. The newly mated couple will be given new living quarters reserved for couples with extra space for pups.

What happens after children are born? Do either parents have to give up their education?

No, the school provides a full time daycare paid for by the clans to help out the parents while they attend classes and/or study for tests/exams/etc. Sarcina Academy understands that this new generation needs good education to be able to give the next generation the very best future.

Will females be able to have abilities such as psychic?

No, I'd prefer all the female characters be on a level playing field in that way.

Is poly relationships an option?

Absolutely not. One male to a female and one female to a male. Mates don't share, one dude would wind up killing another or some chick scratching out another chicks eyes, so messy >.<

What is the dorm room situation? Will there be a roommate assigned?

Each student will get their own personal luxury dorm room, there are more than enough rooms in the castle to make this possible.  No roommates will be assigned, your room is your own.

A luxury on campus apartment will be supplied to couples that find themselves mated, along with paid daycare for future offspring and a 24/7 parenting advice hotline.

What is the age cap on werewolf male students?

The age cap is 90, which will make your character look 25 or so. Werewolves age 1 year for every 10 that pass.

What is the werewolf lifespan?

It is unheard of, next to impossible, for werewolves to live past 900 - 1,000 years old.

Does this game do the common 'destined soul mate' situation associated with many werewolf genres?

No, we do not. I apologize if this inconveniences anyone. It just doesn't fit with this game.

When do werewolf pups shift for the first time?

Pups are taught to shift into their werewolf forms at the age of 5, though it is highly advised to have adult supervision until the age of ten, to avoid any accidents or the pups unwittingly getting themselves into trouble.

What is the stance on LGBT characters?

Sorry, but for the sake of the game’s nature with the breeding elements, this will be strictly heterosexual. However, please do not think this reflects how I feel about the LGBT community, my brother is gay and I absolutely adore him. This just isn’t the right kind of game for it is all it is.

The Clans:

Lunarclaw-
Worshipers of Mother Moon

Reigning Alpha and Headmaster of Sarcina Academy: Rafaello Myst

Among the oldest established clans, the Lunarclaw wolves are devout worshipers of the moon and are known for their scholars and great intellectual minds. These wolves follow a creed of peaceful methods first, brute force second only when no other logical civilized options are available.
The Lunarclaw are very private and try to stay out of other clan disputes, unless of course the topic at hand is truly important and impacting to their species as a whole.

The Lunarclaw clan have always had a... brittle, for lack of a better word... relationship with the wild Direfang clan. They are not about to go to war, but the relationship certainly isn't ideal either.

The Lunarclaw view the young Direfang clan as being too wild and unpredictable, too dangerous and unrestrained.


The Lunarclaw founded the Sarcina Academy as a symbol of hope for their declining species, they can save their race and educate them at the same time, what could better than that?



Lunaflame-
Worshipers of Father Sun

Reigning Alpha: Killian Haedrig

The Lunaflame wolves praise and worship the sun for warming the earth and making it possible for life to thrive and flourish. These wolves are as vibrant and passionate at the burning star they revere, they are also widely known for being among the most compassionate and generous of the clans.
They are famous as well for producing some of the absolute most breathtaking fireworks seen at any event throughout all the werewolf clans, anyone whom is anyone gets their fireworks from the Lunaflame.

The Lunaflame  has been rumored to have a somewhat iffy view on the chilly Glacierclaw clan, they seem as kind of cold and distant, which make the cheery Lunaflame a little nervous.


Direfang-
-No deity, the hunt and pride  is all they need-

Reigning Alpha: Duke Burgess

A very young clan established little under a century ago, the Direfang wolves are a primal and fierce clan, they are well known for being particularly aggressive in numerous ways from the vigorous intensity of their hunts, the brutality of young males butting heads for the 'top dog' spot and the legendary fierce passion of a male pursuing a desired potential mate... getting in the way of a Direfang wolf trying to mark a female is highly discouraged.

The Direfang clan is well known for selling some of the very best choice meat to the butchers of the various werewolf clans, there are no hunters better than the Direfang.

The Direfang have a tentative relationship with most of the clans, a lot of them wanting to give them a shot and yet remain wary at the same time of the unpredictable young clan... except for the Lunarclaw wolves... there is little love lost there.
The Direfang view the Lunarclaw as being stuck up and weak, too busy burying their snouts in their books and intellectual pursuits to better themselves as fierce proud warriors capable of protecting and providing for their clan.



The Direfang's main clan is based North East of Orono, Maine. Duke purchased that sprawling stretch of rural land where there is nothing but trees, hills and a wide variety of game to hunt.


Glacierclaw-

Worshipers of Jack Frost

Reigning Alpha: Winter Gyle

Fun Fact: Long, long ago, the werewolf founders of the Glacierclaw clan found the deity of ice and snow trapped in a ring of enchanted fire, which was steadily beginning to weaken him... his beautiful silvery white hair starting to resemble the hue of sickly straw and his glistening pale skin usually just lightly kissed with delicate pink starting to look like wet paper...

The deity pleaded with the wolves to help him, he said his brother, a deity of heat and fire was jealous of him and the glittering beauty of the snow, so he sought to do away with him forever... the wolves were uncertain at first if the should trust a deity, but quickly aided him anyway, snuffing out the fire with nearby snow and freeing Jack Frost.

The deity, now restored to his wintery magnificence, was so grateful that he placed his blessing upon the clan of winter thriving wolves, he told them that they would always retain his favor so long as they continued to show all the love and reverence they always had for the ice and snow.


The other clans are skeptical of this tale, but the Glacierclaw stand by the story.



The Glacierclaw wolves are a very mysterious sort, making their home in the deep wilds of Alaska away from the prying eyes of humans... and most other wolves, the Glacierclaw are immensely private and closed off, a thousand times more than the Lunarclaw ever have been.
Legendary for beautiful snowy white hair and bright blue eyes in human form and the most dazzling sparkling white fur with a chilling piercing gaze in their wolf form, some might say the Glacierclaw clan have the loveliest wolf form to behold... each strand of fur sparkling like it's been freshly dusted with new fallen glittering snow.

Most tend to be rather distant and seemingly slow to trusting others outside their clan, but it's rumored that when this sacred trust is earned... you have an invaluable.. and loyal friend to the end of your days.



Bramblethorn-
Worshippers of Gaea, the Earth Mother

Reigning Alpha: Jacque Gardener

Among the Bramblethorn is the unified Native American werewolves of North America.

Wise and nurturing, the Bramblethorn werewolves are the closest thing to a pacifist that any of the werewolf clans can get, the abhor violence and stand firm against it unless all options are exhausted and brute force becomes necessary to save their life or someone dear, but even then... they will not take a life if it can be avoided.

Life... life is sacred to the Bramblethorn, it is a gift from the Earth Mother, she whom bestows and nourishes all life on the planet, the preservation of life is the Bramblethorn most precious and ironclad belief.

The Bramblethorn clan are also famous for being the best farmers in the entire world, even some human cities get produce from them and never know it, it had made the pockets of the Bramblethorn quite deep. Not vegetable or fruit in the world can compare to the taste of something grown by Bramblethorn hands, no flower can stand to the perfection of Bramblethorn flower's beauty.

The Bramblethorn are not exactly cozy with the Glacierclaw clan or the Direfang clan, one favors the produce hating cold and the other has little regard for snuffing out a life that gets in their way... at least, this is the likely exaggerated way how most of the Bramblethorn view them.


Kiba no Meiyo
Worshippers of Takemikazuchi, this is a deity in Japanese mythology, considered a god of thunder and sword god. He also competed in what is considered the first sumo wrestling match recorded in history.

Alpha: Hayate Himura


The Kiba no Meiyo are a mysterious clan making their home in the countryside of Kyoto, Japan. Not much is known about them aside from the fact that they prize honor, pride, integrity and family above all else. They are strict, disciplined and very determined to protect the secrets of their proud noble history.

They also produce some of the most clever and skilled hunters and warriors, they are also among the most reluctant next to the Glacierclaw to allow humans unmated to one of their own into their domain.


Colmillos dorados
Worshippers of Kinich Ahau, Mayan god of the sun

Reigning Alpha: Juan Menandez

A clan hailing from Central America in the Amazon, they are very friendly and are masters of the natural herbal remedies, they are mostly known for their generous nature in sharing their medicines free of charge to small human tribes within the jungle in desperate need.

They alone know the true location of El Dorado, where they make their home.

Personal history: Rafaello inherited the position of Alpha from his father Lorenzo at the age of 90, having impressed his aging father and his council via his keen intellect and ability to plan and strategize, everyone agreed that Rafaello displayed everything that a Lunarclaw wolf ought to be… even the ability to get his claws good and bloody when the situation desperately demanded it. He was the creme of the crop, the best of the best.
He ruled  over the Lunarclaw clan in a peaceful reign, his clan respecting, liking and trusting him absolutely to keep them safe and happy.

Ten years later, he was introduced to the daughter of his father’s closest friend, her name was Bianca… and Rafaello was absolutely downright smitten by her almost immediately, he wasted no time in moving on in to court the beautiful she-wolf. Turns out, she was just as much taken by the charismatic Alpha… she thought he was as intelligent and warm of heart as he was handsome and virile.

It was not long after they began courting, a couple months or so, before the two decided they knew exactly what they wanted and decided to enter into the mating bond.

Their union was a joyous one, there was no pair in the entire clan more in love and adoring of each other than they were… you can imagine their joy when they discovered exactly ten months after they became mates that Bianca was carrying Rafaello’s pup.

Everything was wonderful for the newly mated pair, they were blissfully happy and life couldn’t be more perfect… but sometimes… tragedy lurks behind corners where we least expect them…

When the time came to give birth… there were… complications… Bianca did not survive the birth, but thankfully did live just long enough to see her precious son safely into the world before she drew her last breath.

His heart heavy with grief for his beloved lost mate, Rafaello did the only thing he could to get himself through this and focused his whole heart on his newborn son, letting the sweet child fill him with love, instead of allowing himself to drown in his agony. Bianca would never forgive him if he neglected their son to dwell on pain and sorrow.

The alpha named the boy Andreas. Andreas Antony Myst. It felt right, to give his son his late mate’s father’s name as Andreas’s middle name, he imagined she would have liked that.

Eighteen years after this… that was when Rafaello and the other clan Alpha came to a startling realization… no pups had been born in any of the clans around the world in the last eighteen years, Andreas was the very last one on record. It was a growing concern for panicking werewolf families… what was to become of them if they couldn’t have any more offspring or even find out why this was happening?

The brightest and most respected scientists the Lunarclaw had at their fingertips immediately went to work on the issue.. They found something hopeful and at the same time, very saddening…

The saddening part being that for some reason no one could explain, every female werewolf offering to be examined turned out to be completely sterile, not one egg left… but as heavy hearted at that made the werewolf community, all hope was not lost… the males were all still perfectly fine, plenty of healthy sperm in all of them…

The scientists concluded that their solution to the critical problem rested would the females of the human race after a Lunarclaw very recently mated to a human woman reported that the female human was pregnant.

So Rafaello called a meeting with all the world’s clan Alphas to discuss a proposition, they present human females with a completed high school education with the opportunity to attend  Sarcina Academy, all expenses paid for… all they had to do was come willing to be courted by the unmated males and selected for themselves one of the male to mate with within a year of starting at the school.

The response was unanimous. They agreed.

The doors of Sarcina would be thrown open to these open minded human women… and with luck, the clans hopeful hearts would not be disappointed.



PERSONALITY

Personality: A gentleman by nature and a brilliant mind, Rafaello is a kind and compassionate individual whose deepest desire is for the well-being and survival of the werewolf species. There is no end to the depths of love that Rafaello harbors for his son and his clan, honor is everything to Rafaello, he has a strict policy to keep to his code of honor and live his life doing what he knows in his heart is the right thing… even if he might not quite like it.
Patient as he is wise and kind, Rafaello is known for being well liked by majority of his students and staff… but make no mistake, he is quite strict when crossed, everyone recognizes that cold as ice facial expression he wear when one has pushed the lunar wolf way too far.

Rafaello will implement violence if there is no peaceful alternative and he will do so with a vengeance, but he legitimately would prefer not to.

Romantically, Rafaello is smooth as silk… he is suave and charismatic, he knows the words to say, the places to touch and kiss… everything to drive a woman mad with need…
He is quite the generous partner, keen on ensuring the woman with him feels like the only woman in the world and never finds herself bored.

Personal~ Classic literature, the smell of parchment, clear Spring nights with a full moon, hunting with his son, going wine tasting, opera music and horseback riding.

Physical~ Rafaello abhors violence, but he is very quick and light on his feet, speed is definitely a tool Rafaello works to his advantage. He will tear an ass up (not in the good way), but he really would prefer not to.

Emotional~Rafaello has a demeanor and way of talking to people that makes them want to trust him, he genuinely cares about his students and they respond to this with unshakable loyalty.

Rafaello is capable of thinking under pressure, his wisdom and good sense are legendary and for very good reason.

Weaknesses:

Physical~ While Rafaello is no weakling, his focus has always been with his intellectual pursuits, someone superior to combat and strength training could potentially overpower him.

Emotional~ Rafaello can be a tad bit overprotective of his son, his son and his clan mean everything to him. Those closest to him in peril would also likely make it harder for Rafaello to make 'the hard choice' if something made it necessary with no other alternatives.

Fears/phobias:

Rafaello is somewhat afraid to take another mate, terrified he will lose her the same way he lost Bianca.

The Lunarclaw Alpha has a mild fear of the more stubborn clans butting heads and starting a clan war.

Hobbies: Ballroom dancing, astronomy, studying (one can never have too much knowledge), hunting, running.

Moonlight melding- a talent learned only by the most skilled of the Lunarclaw clan, those whom has truly and devoutly sworn to revere Mother Moon... Rafaello can briefly stealth himself to become one with the moonlight, making himself invisible wherever there is moonlight... unseen, until it is too late for whatever unlucky prey... {Note: Time limit- Rafaello can only maintain the moonlight meld for a total of 15 minutes before it wears off}

Sexual expertise- Among other more innocent material, Rafaello has also researched in depth the art of making love, he has years upon years of intimate knowledge gained throughout his life to please his late mate… and maybe please a new one.


COMBAT

Merciful or aggressive attitude in battle?: Merciful, Rafaello would prefer not to kill anyone if it can be avoided, werewolves are so few now and to lose one more would bring the Lunarclaw Alpha sorrow.

I'm really not sure about that. There really isn't any point to it, the female werewolves have all been stricken sterile and won't be viewed as viable mates.
