Some people are born artist's, speed junkies, criminals, or car fanatics; but there are a select few that are born all of these things and more.  Usually such interests are hobbies or a way to earn a living, but in a neighborhood where your choices are limited, and there's power in numbers, being a part of a group is the only way to survive and indulge in your passions at the same time.  In this case, it's the wild and highly illegal world of street racing in San Diego; where it's more than your name on the line.  It's here where your talent at building cars, and your meddle behind the wheel is tested, and it's all about speed, and winning.

I'm interested in starting a game centered around street racing, or more specifically, a street racing club.  It would work as a cohesive family of sorts, every member of the club loyal to the family above all else.  It would comprise of a group of people that all grew up in the same neighborhood, who've known each other almost their whole lives, and who distrust outsiders as much as they do cops.  There will be no one who just happens to walk in the door and joins the club automatically.  The secondary cast are all connected to the club through the shop or through family, but they would not be in on the actual illegal activities that go along with being a member, they wouldn't be privy to details; but they would still be considered family, and loyalty would still be expected.

Guidelines

• Please don't consider this for your first game on E.
• While I'm not picky, there is a two paragraph 350+ posting minimum.
• This will be a slow paced game.  If you're expecting something fast paced, than this definitely isn't for you.
• I reserve the right to ask perspective players to edit their submitted character sheet's if I see something that needs editing.  But I'm not heavy handed about this, so it'll only be for major things that I see need editing.
• Player collaboration is not just suggest, but needed when working out each characters histories.  This is only because, they would have all known each other for most of their lives, and some common events are inevitable.
• Depictions of Non-consensual sexual acts cannot be displayed in the actual main game threads.  If a scene of this nature wants to be played out between players, please PM me and we'll work something out.

Specialty: Mechanic, she's never met an engine she didn't like improving.
Personality: Quiet with strangers she can be quite chatty with people she's close to. Honest, trustworthy, loyal, she'd do damned near anything for those she loves, very protective. Intensely focused at times, if she's under the hood of a car you may as well not bother, she won't remember a word you said later
History: Born in the neighborhood, she's know the group at the shop her whole life. They are more her family than her own relatives and she only sees her parents house when she goes there to sleep...if she goes there to sleep. Her days are spent in the shop working on the drivers cars, making them faster, more powerful, the meanest things on the road, and her nights are spent watching her babies eat up that quarter mile like it was nothing. Her happiest moments are when one of her cars runs across that line like lightening let out of a bottle, leaving everyone else in their dust.
Physical Description: Micah is a petite thing. At only 5'2 she looks younger than she is, like she is still supposed to hit that last growth spurt, but it never happened. Her golden mane of soft curls is usually back in a tight braid but falls to the middle of her back when she lets it down. All that hair frames a heart shaped face with ice blue eyes frames by a thick ring of dark lashes and that have just the slightest tilt giving her just a hint of an exotic look, like something not entirely nordic got mixed in somewhere alone the line. A straight nose leads to full lips and a stubborn chin that can give her a mildly petulant look when she's unhappy.

Despite her lack of height her body is well shaped. Firm, if smaller, breasts lead down to a flat stomach, small waist, gently curving hips and a tight bottom. Her legs aren't long but they're firm and well shaped. Finding time to keep in shape is a must for her so that she can handle moving all her car parts on her own...she's stubborn that way.
Extra Info:Micah is pretty innocent in some ways. Her whole life is her cars and her "family", anything beyond that she doesn't really care about. She's not entirely inexperienced with relationships but she's not exactly a font of knowledge either.

Just a rough draft Dis. Anything can be tweaked or changed entirely to fit better.

One question though - what sort of cars are we driving?

Awesome, I'd love to have you.  And the kinds of cars we're talking about are the general streetcars, think Nissan's, Honda's.  Although the shop would work on meatier classics to, but for the most part, think shiny and lighter than the all metal frames that comprise classics.

If you don't mind taking the role of the Leaders sister/unofficial club member, than you could scoop up the last female drivers slot.  She wouldn't technically be a part of the club, but she would have grown up around street racing most of her life, so I can see her driving on occasion.

There will be a plot, I'm just working on it at the moment.  But it will focus on character relationships and how they interact together to start off with.  If anyone wants to see something specific happen with the plot, feel free to let me know, so I can work it in while it's forming.

Hmm... I admit that Japanese 'tuner' type cars don't interest me that much. I also admit a soft spot for American "muscle" types myself (Blame it on being able to consistently beat friends of mine in the Need For Speed games as well as certain movies) which is what got my interest to begin with. Hm... compromise and having a mopre modern model as a "character" car?

I will be playing a secondary cast member, the last reserved spot on the list, the Auto-shop worker/Childhood friend.  She'll just be the girl who answers phones and works out appointments and such.

Personality: Reckless, headstrong and impulsive, Jenna finds it hard to back down from a challenge. She likes speed, racing, challenges and taking risks if she thinks there will be a big payoff. Loud to the point of obnoxiousness, she tends to be rowdy and outspoken. However, at the same time, she is good to her friends and treats them well, enjoying hanging around and having a good time. She really likes her car. Really likes it.
History: Jenna was born to a lower-class family and lived most of her life in the neighbourhood. She met members of the shop group in high school, where she specialised in wasting time, barely passing classes and dropping out. However, at the same time, she developed an interest in cars, one that cumulated with her then-boyfreind who was inordinately proud of his ride. She realised that she actually found the car more interesting then him, which he took a blow to his ego. Next thing she knew, she was in a street race with him – and she smoked him easily. But the best part for her wasn’t the fact she beat him, but the thrill of the race. From there, moving into full-time street racing was a logical step.
Physical Description: Jenna is on the tallish side (173 cm) and has an athletic build accentuated by a generous figure. She is fit and conditioned, and clearly keeps herself in good shape. Her hair is long and worn loose, falling around her shoulders; naturally brown, she dyes it a deep red, but has been known to add coloured highlights. She has an attractive face but not remarkably so, centred on clear blue eyes.

Both arms are adorned with numerous elaborate tattoos that spill over onto her shoulders and upper back, with a hint of others elsewhere. Her typical attire is basic streetwear, oft consisting simply of whatever is clean that day; in truth, Jenna cares more for her car then her appearance.
Extra Info: Jenna tends to measure people’s worthy by their cars. Its an odious habit.

Okay, so this is what I have for Trini, feel free to give me input if you guys want to:

She's 23, half Indian half Mexican who can play the piano pretty damn well, but never actually tried to get anywhere with her music outside of studying at SDSU.  Growing up she ran after the boys and tougher girls in the neighborhood, trying to become one of them, being a pretty basic tom boy while she was at it.  I could see this being a bit annoying in the beginning, but eventually she would have been accepted as one of the guys.  I know some of you guys will want to have made your characters real friends during high school, but if any of your characters where friends before that, than I can see Trini knowing them from childhood.

During high school, she was a late bloomer, she started noticing boys in another way, and learned the girly things, cooking, dressing, etc.  She was still considered one of the guys though.  It's probably here that she would have befriended most of the female characters, since this is when she started getting interested in more female oriented things.

She would have moved from the neighborhood and into a dorm room when she hit college, so occasional visits to the neighborhood for that time period.  But being they loyal kind of girl she is, she would have kept in touch with people.  After college, she moved back and is now working at the Auto shop.  I can see her helping out at the scrap yard on occasion, when it's needed.  She's also the type to have routine  BBQ's, dinners, meals at her place for the gang.

Sooooo in summery(if you really don't want to read through this whole thing lol)  She would have known some of your characters as a child, while running around the neighborhood like any true hooligan.  In High school, she would have befriended most/some of the female characters.  In college, she would have been gone a lot, so interactions than would be brief.  After college, she works at the Auto-shop, and occasionally helps out at the scrap yard if needed.  She sorts of mothers people, so meals at her place are usually expected, and in fact the opening scene of this game will be a BBQ at her parents house.

For those who want to work into their history a little with Tychus.

He did have to repeat two grades (did this in order for him to be older), one of them was because he just did not go to school for an entire year (junior year, this was the year before all the baby mama drama so he was working and trying to do the right thing *read bio*)and when he did he had to repeat it. Around school he is not very sociable unless it involves cars or girls, he did not care for school sports or spirit and he did get into a few altercations with some of the "jocks" who thought it was fun to piss him off only to find themselves bloodied and bruised after.

I am looking for one of the characters here (if they want) to be the one to tutor him enough to graduate. Whoever that is, be very careful for he will see that person as more of a sister than an actual "female" so he will be highly protective.

Hahahaa, those are nice area's to visit.  The neighborhood this game is centered on is a little off the beaten track, there are a lot of scrap yards, and small communities made up of 3 bedroom apartments and small houses.  It's known to people who need parts for cars and such.

Okay, here's what I got so far.  It's tentative to change as aya needs to give it a glance so I didn't post it in the main thread.  Also I wanted to make sure it meets with approval from the GM.  :D

Leonid “Leo” Byron Morrison

Age: 24
Gender: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual
Position in Club: Co-Leader/Driver/Mechanic
Specialty: Engine work (especially in muscle cars)
Personality:  Leo can be highly stubborn, but is generally keeps an even and steady head about him.  He knows what he likes and dislikes anyone that tries to belittle him for it.  At the shop he is friendly enough, and even about as honest as any mechanic ever could be.  Away from the job he's relaxed, a bit jovial with friends, and always plain spoken.
History:  Leo is the son of a long line of blue collar workmen.  His great-grandfather worked in construction, building some of the largest buildings within the city.  His grandfather helped construct the elevated trains.  His father repaired the cities vehicles while making enough money for the boy to go to school and get a proper education.

Leo went through school much like any other child.  He excelled at sports and had a natural gift at tinkering with engines and other aspects of metal work.  He made decent grades, but that was shadowed by his skill at linebacker on the football field.

Leo's mother passed away during the summer of his senior year in high school, leaving the father and son together.  Throwing himself into work around the shop and very little with school he almost failed out of High School altogether.  However he barely graduated and his skill on the football field earned him a scholarship to University.

While away at college Leo had taken up an interest in the Sweet Science of boxing.  It became a past time he indulged in during the off-time from football and earned him a small amount of notoriety while in college.  He began to acclimate to the college life easily, enjoying everything it had to offer.

It was during this time that things took a turn for the worst.  Just nearing the end of his Senior year his father's house burned to the ground with the elder Morrison still inside.  Making matters worse, during an early season game Leo blew his knee out and with it any chances of making it in the pros.  The loss of both parents left the young Morrison to inherit the family business which he decided to carry on with after he barely graduated from college.

Physical Description: Physically built much like an athlete, never having lost the workout ethic from college sports.  He’s on the tall side clocking in at 6’ 3” tall (190.5 cm) and keeps his dark hair cut close.  Aside from he occasional grease smears from working on an engine he has no body art to show.

Extra Info: Leo has a two modes of transit.  The first being a GMC Topkick C4500 for work and the second being a rebuilt ’71 Challenger

Age: 21
Gender: Female

Specialty: Annoying her big brother, Amateur car modelling, Occasional driving.
Personality: Leah is smart, but still young. She knows how to sweet talk people into getting what she wants, and knows when to back off. While her older brother is plain and up front, Leah is very aware about what comes out of her mouth. She is usually curious and very hard to dislodge once something captures her interest: a huge source of annoyance for Leo growing up. As such, Leah can be extremely stubborn at times, a trait that seemed to run in the family. Generally, she is friendly and relaxed- until she gets fired up by something.
History: Leah grew up as the family's princess of sorts, being the youngest child and a girl. She was always well cared for by her parents, almost to the point where she could be considered spoiled- though not from material goods. While Leo didn't show as much affection like her parents, Leah received no end of help from him growing up- though she may not have been aware of most of it.

While her brother was average in academics and made his name in sports, Leah excelled in getting high grades- part of the reason their parents usually favoured her slightly, much to her brother's displeasure. When their mother had passed away, Leah was only in grade 9- her rude awakening to the real world and everything that was in it. This streak would only continue in her life, but she grew to be quite strong inside, despite her otherwise frail appearance.

Extra Info: Although she doesn't work at the family business, Leah has a surprisingly extensive knowledge of cars from her job and her brother, and stops by frequently to check on Leo. Well, it's just a job title actually.  One of the Co-Leaders works and owns it, and a few other characters work there to.  Any secondary cast member can be as involved with the racing scene as they like, they just wouldn't be considered actual Club members, yet.  That being said, all members in this game are still part of the "family" since everyone knows each other for years.

We also have a club position open to, a mechanic that manages the Auto-shop.

Well I can change the last club position so that he's not a mechanic.  I needed to change it anyway since Leo's family runs the shop.  But since it's a legit(for the most part) business, we can make your char liaison with suppliers, and he can dabble in obtaining illegal parts for the club members private cars.

You wont hurt the game, I needed to edit it anyway.  That character would also need to be a driver, since all Club members need to drive to some extent.  But if you'd like to wait, you can do that to.

Specialty: Business, he is the best one to get the best deals on any piece of any car. He can make you go in circles without you even noticing it.
Personality: He is the quiet type of man, he does not speak much around anybody not even the people he came to call his family. He is the type of guy that would go to the end of the earth for the people he cares about and will always try to make them happy however he can. He is the strong silent type of men, when he speaks often people hears him. He is known to get into fights with his group and being the last one to bail out after making sure everybody left. Almost got arrested one time for defending one of the girls and helping her out of the sight of the police.
History:
Born in Japan, he was born into a world of racing and business dealings. His father owned a company based on making car parts and he always got into business with dealerships to get the best deals. He became famous among the industry and the company kept rising. Hiro came to know all that he needed from his father, making him into a very dangerous man in business deals.

He moved to the States when he turned sixteen and became friends with the group after they found out that he always seem to have a lot of cash and stuff moving around, mostly car related stuff. After a few words with him Hiro agreed to help them out. At first he was treated like a outsider but he quickly grew to love his new friends and them grew to love him back.  He works now only for them getting the best deals he can for the group of racers that basically won him over. Having all the money he ever needs from his father he use it to help out whenever he can.

On another note, this game has successfully been moved from NC: human small groups, to Bon: Human small groups.

I would like to be a mechanic/driver, though I don't prefer being a manager. I'm not a good leader in real life and it would be pretty much the same in RP. I actually am a mechanic in the Army in real life, and I own a muscle car that I work on, a 1965 Mustang w/ a 302 cubic inch V8 motor.

I could either drive my car or I could make up a car to drive. If I had to race though I'd change up my car specifications, because my 302, though fast, wouldn't cut it with the guys that put thousands under the hood of their cars. I've got maybe a grand into my engine, in the form of camshaft, intake manifold, lifters, and a Holley carburetor, the other 7 grand went to restoring the car cosmetically :D

Specialty:Part identification and retrieval. He might not be able to identify a 67' Chevy in a lineup, but show him the engine and he'll rebuild it from parts already in the junkyard.
Personality: An introspective and artistic person he can often be found just sitting in a car in the middle of the junkyard. At the same time his creativity can lead him to some entertaining situations. For example, the device he created using a fuel injector to pump out shots during parties. Usually fun to be around, but when in the middle of a project he can get a bit snappy at anyone that interrupts him.

James was something of a B student in high school, due mostly to a lack of focus. However, his auto shop grades were terrible. In this class more then others he lost focus, making sculptures rather then building the engine. and when he did build the engine, it would look right but didn't function. One afternoon he found a way around it. Tychus was 'visiting' the class and having a bit of trouble locating a part he needed. James overheard it and proceeded to locate the part- under a locker near the tool bench rather then with the spare parts. By the end of the year Tychus had taught James enough to make the engine turn over, and pass the class, and James was happy to return the favor in a handfu of other subjects.

When Tychus inherited the junk shop, James was quick to come help. He dedicates most of his time to inventory management and is mostly used for his ability to know what obscure parts they had and where they might be. He still isn't very good at knowing what a 'corroborator for a Datsun' looks like off hand, but as time goes on he has started picking up on a few of them.

Also kinda toying with the idea of playing a Letty-esque character, though I don't know what everyone's preference is for a male roleplaying a female, if it's at all an issue I'll scrap that idea.

Here's my male char. I've roleplayed him one way for a very long time (strong silent type, good for killing people and not too much else), so I'm making him a completely adjustable character.

Rosha Kovotulyin

Age: is adjustable. I prefer to play young characters around my age or younger (19), and generally end up playing the youngest character, but I have played this character as old as 60 years old.
Gender: Male
Orientation: Also adjustable, usually I just say bisexual with a preference for females.
Position in Club: I suppose that should depend on what Rosha is useful for. He can steal/hotwire cars, work on them, drive them, etc. He's also good for dirty work.
Specialty: Rosha is a gifted mechanic and almost as good as a driver, though certainly not the "best" at racing, he definitely holds his own.
Personality: Gung-ho and happy-go-lucky, Rosha is a fast-talking teen from right there in San Diego. Loves to drink, loves to talk (and talk, and talk, and talk...), and loves to work on cars. Also enjoys computer games. Collecting weapons is also a hobby... guns, knives, martial arts weapons, etc. He's good for useless knowledge and a laugh, he is an eternal smartass.
History: Rosha was born and raised in San Diego. Though certainly not born into the racing world, he didn't need an invitation to find it. He had a penchant for driving at suicidal speeds, and doing it well, and it didn't go unnoticed... by the cops or by racers.
Physical Description: Tall, skinny, and lanky teenager, scruffy dark brown hair, hazel eyes. Wears whatever's comfortable, likes to wear old BDU uniform pants w/ t-shirts and boots, though.

There's no problem with making you a club member, although I do have to point out that the secondary cast isn't background, they play an important role to(Since I play a secondary cast member, I set it up that way:)  And I didn't mind the wait at all, and you definitely can still play in the game.

I have no issues with a male playing a female character, in fact we already have a female playing a male character, so no problems there.  What did you have in mind with a 'Letty-esq' character?  Someone who is tough, a bit of a tom boy and who can drive well?
