Really?  The Republican party wants to talk about discarding the weakest among us.

Beguile's Mistress

Didn't someone else also try to do that?

Oh you're mistaken, that would be unchristian. (They'll wait till the spring when it's no longer relevant news)

I find it humiliating as an American that it is 'unwise' to help indivguals but its okay to help healthy profitable companies.

These men attack Islam for having no redeeming value but refuse to see at the least that almost EVERY semi-rational Islamic nation, group or organization values charity.  Not all of these people are GOOD to our definition but they tend to others.

I've looked, and I can't find any stories about abortion survival that wasn't on a pro-life web site, blog, or whatnot. I could be proven wrong, but I think the pro-lifers are making stuff up again. Or rather, that they've never stopped making up stuff. I haven't been able to find anything about the so called bill that Obama voted against either.

Now maybe there's some truth somewhere in that ad. But I suppose that's the problem - when you're known for crying wolf when there isn't one, no one believes you if you find a real wolf.

Tea Party candidate: Do as I say, not as I do. Also, he's a physician who has sex with his patients. Also, he thinks it's a horrible election ploy by the Democrats for pointing out his hypocrisy and unethical behavior.

Here's one for the conspiracy theorists on this forum. Apparently, Romney owns the voting machines in several swing states.

I'll give you a moment so that can sink in.

Yeah, he owns the voting machines. Remember when Diebold promised to deliver the election to Bush Jr? And then it happened? I'm not saying that they rigged the machines but...

Also, I'm not saying that Romney's literally going to buy this election by owning the voting machines...

HEY, I HAVE AN IDEA. GET RID OF THE FUCKING VOTING MACHINES AND REPLACE THEM WITH PEOPLE.

And in other news, an official campaign blogger for Romney had this to say:

QuoteA white woman voting for Barack Obama is like a black woman voting for the KKK.

A white man voting for a man like that is like a black man voting for David Duke.

I wouldn't write something like this in a piece of bad fanfic. The stupidity, it burns. We're all now stupider for having read that. Thank you Mr Official Romney blogger. Actually, maybe I should thank you in earnest. You keep saying shit like that, and you keep sending voters out of your camp. So thanks, racist fuckwad.

The "6 studies" verifying that Romney/Ryan's tax plan will work are bogus. Some of the studies are by non-partisan right wing think tanks. And some of these studies are just blog posts. Who broke the news on this, and broke the "liberal media's" silence, to outright come out and call the "6 studies" that Ryan kept refering to in the debate as malarkey? Why, it was Chris Wallace of Fox News, while was interviewing Ed Gillespie, one of Romney's senior advisors.

Well, this proves the old axiom that even a broken clock can be right twice a day. The broken clock, in this case, being Fox News.

Video and article here.

Walter De Vries, a long time aid to George Romney, the former Michigan governor and Mitt Romney's father, issued a strongly worded statement to the press attacking Mitt Romney.

Quote“While it seems that Mitt would say and do anything to close a deal – or an election,” he wrote, “George Romney’s strength as a politician and public officeholder was his ability and determination to develop and hold consistent policy positions over his life.”

[....]

Mr. De Vries, who said he wished to the see the Republican Party return to its moderate roots, said he intended to vote for Mr. Obama on Election Day.

In other news, Paul Ryan stopped at a soup kitchen for a photo op. But instead of serving food to people, or doing anything else that might be considered useful, he got there after the kitchen was closed. Then he washed some clean dishes so he could have his photo taken.

The head of the soup kitchen in the above story, said that they are an apolitical organization, and that they would never dream of endorsing a candidate. He said that Ryan did not go through proper channels for his photo-op, and that he had no permission to be there.

QuoteHe noted that the soup kitchen relies on funding from private individuals who might reconsider their support if it appears that the charity is favoring one political candidate over another.

“I can’t afford to lose funding from these private individuals,” he said. “For us to even appear like we’re backing somebody, it’s suicide. … If this was the Democrats, I’d have the same exact problem. It doesn’t matter who it was.”

Hey! It's not debt.. it's foreign investment in the strongest economy in the world! We're leveraging our consumer market to outside companies!

Cause I've met and talked, and shook slimy hands with GOP spin meisters. Those guys could try and make Romney tearing the throat out of a newborn on stage into a good thing with enough time.

Ironwolf85

Why bother to spin... I know why they do it, but I've always believed truth though harsh sometimes, was always better in the long run.
for example pointing out that part of the morage crisis was caused by a program to house every american started by the democratic controled congress during the early years of bill clinton, that grew wildly out of control when it was privateized and funded. would do more to get people to vote for them than "the other side is Socialists who wanna tax you!"

Well for one thing.. how do we fix the buget?

First TRUTHFUL answer.. Raise Taxes.. or hold the taxes in place. Cut out loopholes and bring down corporate tax rates and put in reforms to discourage outsourcing.

Well that will go over as well as slitting your wrists at the podium and splashing the front rows.. Short term.. suicide will be nicer than what the media will do to you. Too many big companies have an investment in the current corporate tax structure since THEY can hide money overseas..and cheap labor..well is cheap labor.. and NO ONE likes hearing that taxes will go up.

You can't spin that. It's too blunt for John Q. Public.

Mitt Romney's son, Josh Romney admits that he and his brothers used to lie all the time to their father. So, considering that Romney lies all the time, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I wonder if they learned to lie all the time from him, or whether it's some sort of genetic birth defect of character? If so, we might be able to one day cure Romneyism.

Josh Romney: Dad ‘Learned How To Debate An Obstinate Child’

Quote"I don't know if you guys saw the debate last week," Josh Romney said, as the crowd cheered and applauded. "I take a lot of pride in that, because — I don't know if you noticed, but I was — me and my brothers were responsible for my dad doing so well. We were the ones, as kids, that kept saying the same thing over and over. And we'd say the same lie over and over. And my dad learned then, not to believe it."

=http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2012/10/romney-told-employers-tell-employees-whom-vote/58076/Romney's telling business owners to tell their employees to vote for him.

Quote"I hope you make it very clear to your employees what you believe is in the best interest of your enterprise and therefore their job and their future in the upcoming elections," said Romney in a recording obtained by In These Times. "Nothing illegal about you talking to your employees about what you believe is best for the business, because I think that will figure into their election decision, their voting decision and of course doing that with your family and your kids as well."

Now, this technically isn't illegal, for you boss to come up and tell you how you should vote. But I think it should be. Isn't there an implied threat there, that if the wrong guy wins the election, that your boss is going to start looking for people in the company to fire. Doesn't it give you the feeling that if the wrong guy wins, and you have the wrong bumper sticker on your car, that your name is going to be on the top of the list of "lay-offs"? It's just my opinion of course, but I think this... stuff... should be illegal.

Voter intimidation is illegal.  http://projectvote.org/voter-intimidation.html

QuoteCurrently, there are federal laws that make voter intimidation illegal, but their lenient penalties have spurred lawmakers to introduce legislation with more teeth. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 prohibit persons from intimidating or attempting to intimidate, threaten or coerce another person for the purpose of interfering with their right to vote freely in federal elections. However, the maximum penalty for conviction on a charge of voter intimidation under federal guidelines is a fine and/or no more than one year in prison, which has hardly deterred voter intimidation schemes in the past.

Whoops, double post, but this is rather interesting:

QuoteIn the Oct. 23 debate, to be livestreamed over the Internet, independent presidential candidates are expected to take on a wider range of issues, including diminished civil liberties and the drug war.

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Elections/Vox-News/2012/1017/A-4th-presidential-debate-Larry-King-to-moderate-third-party-candidate-forum

So, anyone interested in those third-party options, looks like you'll have a chance to see your guys in action!
