Fight the famous debate as the Ninjas and Pirates themselves

Everyone knows the long running debate of which is cooler/better: Pirates or Ninja's. Well, instead of argueing back and forth over a matter that has no real answer, I thought it was time a different approach was taken.

Yep. A freeform, group game where the Ninja's and Pirates are at war. I'm thinking a random Pirate raid kills a very important Ninja as he is passing the seas to get home. His death sparks a retaliation, the ninja's now honor bound to hunt down all the pirates in hope of revenge. Now, all ships are desperately trying to get through the war zone alive to make it to the pirates fortress island, where they have the best chances of fending off this assault.

Have you seen the Ninjas V Pirate comics? They could also make a good back story. Each group is searching for an artifact weapon belonging to famous figure from the past, lost when the two dueled.
