Gambler's Paradise [Extreme, Teaser, 'Future' Slavery]

Before I begin describing the context of the game, I am going to start off with the rules. These are something I see more important; and keep in mind you are to also abide to the Site’s Rules as well. Failure to comply to rules of the site within my game will result in reporting; failure to comply to my rules will result in a removal from my game. Though I am usually an easy going guy, I will not tolerate any nonsense or BS in my game, if you may feel this is too much or any the rules are, do not join.

RULES
I. LGBT Friendly.
II. No OOC Drama.
III. Two-Three paragraph minimum posting.
IV. Third Person Narrative.
V. Respect Other Player's O/Os and Preferences
VI. Non-Con and Extremities must be agreed upon by whatever party they are targeting.
VII. No Godmoding, Powerplaying, or Metagaming; without the consensus of who it affects.
VIII. No killing off other players' characters,  unless you have permission from the player of such.
IX. Inform me and others for extended inactivity period. After a month of no announcing of going away, you will be ejected from the game.
X. Problems are to be brought to me or fellow GMs through PM.
XI. Additional Rules and Edits may be added, depending on concerns. An update to such will always be included prior of doing so.
XII. My Word is Law. 

Failure to comply to any of these rules will result in warnings and a removal from the game. Bold roman numerals are immediate bans from my game if not respected. Three warnings and you are kicked out otherwise to everything else. You may or may not be allowed to rejoin depending on severity of offenses that resulted in kicking; if you are allowed to rejoin, if there is a second kicking, don't bother reapplying for a third time.

Introductory


The year is 2557, society and laws of today are by far different than they have been in the past of centuries ago. Poverty is a growing issue, debt as well for many individuals across the world. A new world decree has been made as a solution to most of these problems and that is the price of a human life. A simple means to an end, but this is not always necessary about killing, no. In most cases, death itself may be the easiest of escapes, but instead, the majority of cost complies to one’s actual freedom; and when they fall rock bottom, all rights are fully stripped away from them, making them something less than human, something equivalent to that of meager property.

Of course, the betting of one’s own life is always a temptation, even for that of the poor. Given one’s financial status, those with little upbringing can accumulate a hundred thousand dollars upon their life. Middle class citizens usually strive around five hundred thousand. Upper class and beyond can range from the millions and above. It all depends on one’s status, which merits their worth. Therefore, even a millionaire can make a gamble if they are going bankrupt, though the fate for them like all others is how the dice or cards play out and if they lose, they lose it all.

Where are all these transactions overseen within the world? One single place, a manmade island dubbed the ‘Gambler’s Paradise.’ A fine resort holding plenty of hotels, attractions, and the casino. The latter is where anyone can come out a big time winner in paying off all their debts or find themselves forever a slave with all rights stripped away from them; that is, if they are playing high stakes. The island is recognized and protected as a neutral territory by all countries. It has its own armed militia to also safeguard and enforce the rules when others may try to snake their way out of paying what is due.

Should one fall into a life of slavery, they are given a special collar around their necks and then may find themselves bid for if it was an open table. Private tables, winner may take all, including any individual for property if they choose to risk it all. The collar cannot be remove and has a microchip bomb implanted in it to serve as a harsh sentence should one attempt to tamper with it.  Naturally, it can not be self destructed by any other means beyond basic tampering with.

Beyond the darker aspects of the island, there are still plenty of well establish places for one to visit as the island is a renown tourist spot given the appeal for most of society of today with an outlook towards visual interface of a society long forgotten. Its main attractions is its late 90s to early 2,000 appeal; although there still lingers some up to date technology on the island. Gambling is not a must, though this is still a place for the wealthy or for those fortunate enough to work on the island. Prostitution is perfectly legal on the island, although one must also have a license to do such business in or outside of the known Brothels. There are also holding cells for those that have lost everything, but such is often kept away in a warehouse to not trouble the visitors and regulars of the island. A large section of tropical forest is waiting to be ventured along with rivers and waterfalls that can be found; however, some of the wildlife is wild and may be dangerous for other thrill seekers.

Regarding Project

As mentioned in the introductory, the game itself will be taking place mostly on a man made, resort island. The setting is futuristic, although I am not too keen or averse in much technology and decided a 90s-2k look to the island is much more manageable as it is to find possible playbys for such for player characters. Most of the environment will not be futuristic, there may be hints or minor things just for flavor sakes; be it players having enhancements, up to date communication devices that may be carried around, or if you really want to find a playby that dresses the part, so be it. I honestly am not going to put too big of an emphasis on technology here, most of it shouldn't ultimately matter with the premise of the game itself; as again the island is mostly modernize with our current level of development; minus potential weapons or other self defense measures. Therefore clothing, vehicles, most accessories are similar to ours; weapons and the like will be surrendered over as well upon arrival of the island.

Slavery has been recognized as perfectly legal in this world concept. This is mostly defined in a means of a person knowing the risks, betting themselves, and losing; since everyone's life has a pricetag. Those that do become slaves have all rights strip from them, so how they are treated is defined by who may later own them. All slaves are fitted with an explosive collar, which can only be removed by their owner. If you are not fond with such grim elements in a game, then this is not the place for you. This project will be extreme, but I don't expect every player to participate in such heavier content be it within extreme fields, non-con, or the like; however, I will expect every player to properly warning label a tag post with such content in gaming when and if this does hit off. 

Needless to say, slavery is just one concept to the whole; I would like for players to be able to indulge in other interactions as well. Most of this will be open sandbox play with little to no main overlaying plot-lines; beyond what players may wish to create among themselves. What I aim for is still that of a vibrant world, but enriched with the darker elements as well in storytelling and smut.

Playbys will of course be represented by real people in this game.

As this project is a work of fiction, I still strive for some realism. Therefore, no super powers, no magic, no alien races, or anything silly like that. I may be strict on what enhancements your character may have as well if you go for sci-fi approach.
