Murder after murder is taking place in Gotham and the Dark Knight is trying to collect the pieces of the puzzle.
But the murderer or murderers are proving to be elusive and the world's greatest detective is further distracted by matters beyond Gotham City and matters close at heart...

Catwoman has been linked to one of the murders. Bruce Wayne is convinced Selina Kyle is innocent but everything points at her.

Furthermore a terrorist organisation has been striking across the globe and the Justice League is seemingly unable to deal with things.
Clueless, the heroes and heroines of the League are unable to deal track down the miscreants. They turn to their longtime 'part-time' founding member whose traditional role in the group has always been to deal with this sort of conspiracy. Problem is, someone keeps the Batman pinned running after shadows to prevent escalation...

As panic and chaos ensues, the Batman's allies in Gotham and outside become more and more entangled in what seems ever escalating crises and violence. Until the Batman finally has his breakthrough and only he and an unlike set of allies stand between survival and Armageddon.
After all when the Paladins of Justice falter, it is up to the Dark Knights and fallen heroes to close the gates of hell!
