The story is getting underway, with our characters in the process of escaping from a prison ship.

I've got some ideas for a doctor, formerly of the Cartel. Well . . . maybe DOCTOR is too strong of a word, but you'd be amazing what you can do with stolen medical supplies, a lot of books and diagrams, and a smile. :D

Milly's player opted out so is no longer in the game and one player (not there) submitted a sheet but he hasn't responded further. There's also a character of Aiden's (a fighting type), and otherwise that's the current list.

Pretty much got every possible role covered and with at least slight back-up, eh? *Ponders* I don't suppose there's anything people are particularly aching for, talent-wise?

I'd guess there are quite a lot that go beyond traditional Firefly roles.

Just a list (not to say the GM would like these):

- Confederate sympathiser/terrorist
- Former Companion/serial killer
- Police detective from one of the Allied Empire (Alliance) planets. Perhaps he arrested the 'wrong person', they pulled some strings and framed him, and he ended up on the prison transport.
- Former Blue Sun computer techie who hacked the wrong system, found out the wrong thing, and made a life for themselves out on the rim. Not as a technie but as an information trader/person-tracker-downer (stalker?) who got caught and locked up.
- A whore whose client got killed and she was caught by his body, surrounded by illegal substances and had no memory of what had happened. (She was framed? She wasn't?)
- A fortune teller who is absolutely a fake, and who killed her patron after his future didn't turn out as she predicted, and she had to kill him in self-defense.

Turning the ideas over my head, I've got some thoughts on a terrorist that could double as a gunnery officer and demolitions/fighter for when not doing nifty space stuff. Hrm, I wonder how high a bounty would be after blowing up an alliance transport . . .

I figure that while her most recent explosive adventures were successful, one of her 'allies' in terrorism was caught, and fingered her as a big-time mad bomber and leader of a terrorist cell, despite her being a lot less important than that.

You'll need to see what Aiden says since ideas need his approval.

Normally I think in Firefly, transports, cargo ships etc don't have guns. (That's the way it was when my old group played it as a tabletop game). However, I think we may be going to take a slightly different approach to that. Still, if you're talking a gunnery officer, you're likely looking at gaining that knowledge from the military, a rebel ship of some kind or a pirate vessel. Most others are unlikely to be armed in a major way (beyond blasting asteroids or what have you).

Ha! That's exactly what I was thinking, going with asteroid mining for a background before the terrorism kicks in!

We have a pretty well balanced crew at the moment.

Our crew is about to crash land on a moon planet while trying to avoid some Alliance soldiers.

So you can make a settler on this moon or someone looking to get off the rock and stay on board and join the crew. This crew is tossed together out of need for the time being.

What kinds of roles are you drawn to?

We're down a few players in our Firefly game, so I thought I'd renew the recruitment call. Our characters have escaped a prison ship and arrived on an unknown alien world in the Blue Sun System.

It may be a good time to be introduced because our ship isn't in the black of space and there's an unknown world out there to explore.

If you're interested, please drop Aiden and I a msg, and we can discuss character and story possibilities. :)

What players dropped out?  Crew positions?

The characters of Janae Kealoha (Latooni Subota), Hugh Jorgen (vin26m) and (near the start) Millicent Carson (Crash). Another player left but he's returned.

That means we're down an engineer, a gunnery officer and a gun hand.

I'm playing the Captain and she has a solid foundation in engineering, so I can cover that if I need to.

The approved characters thread is here. There's also Aiden's character who is a fighter/mercenary, who isn't listed on the thread.

Our crew recently landed on a unknown planet so I have numerous potential plot entrances.

Semi limited too

A small settlement that has been cut off from the verse for generations. Their tech is limited and they have resorted to a more natural way of life.

Alliance or Confederation citizens currently living on this planet no more than a few weeks and finding the hostile "Reaverlike" war tribe to be a bigger threat than expected.

More prisoners who managed to escape the drop ship and crash land.

Can people still join. I have either a Shepard or an Ex academy Hacker. In other words a hacker who had his mind messed with so he could be a much better hacker. Not fully there in the head but very good at his job.
