Welp, here's the first-draft of my girl. Comments/concerns/criticisms? (She clearly uses a blue stall/recycle deck, with heavy artifact support until she can throw out some heavy direct damage to end the match. How old school!)

Name: Sayla Marker
Age: Well into her 40's, not that it matters for Walkers.
Gender: Female
Race: Human, Vampire

Appearance: Sayla Marker is a young humanoid woman, with the pale skin and elongated fangs that marks one as inflicted with the curse of Vampirism. She stands at a good 5'6" with a lightly muscled body graced with soft skin and plentiful curves. Her long black hair reached clear down to bottom, and is a particular point of pride, as are her soft sky-blue eyes. Numerous tattoos of mystic designs and glyphs are on her body, used as a partial spellbook in addition to the pieces of jewelry she carries that signify various spells and sealed artifacts. If she ever has less than a dozen rings, and severals bracelets and a charm necklace, there's something VERY wrong.

Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

Home Plane: Unknown, possibly Ulgrotha, Zendikar, or Innistrad?
Mana Color(s): Blue/Artifact, splashing Red
Magic Specialties: Sayla specializes primarily in defensive control magics, and utilizing artifacts that she's collected over the years. Her Blue magic counters and manipulates the battlefield, while her artifacts increase her power. She has only a small amount of obscure creatures, artifact or otherwise, and all are primarily defensive, though she has a habit of enchanting them to make them more viable for combat. In the end though, she bides her time waiting for an opening . . . then throws out a big burst of Red magic to end the discussion.

Weapons: Her only real physical weapon is an Ensouled Scimitar, and even that she usually just allows to fight autonomously and protect her while she builds up her mana. She'd rather use sorcery to attack personally, if she has to.
Garments: She doesn't have much that's special. Basic enchanted light armor, and long flowing robes. There's really not much to say here.
Other Equipment: This is Sayla's bread and butter. She has a number of artifacts, including a Blinkmoth Urn, a few mystic gems, and whatnot. She uses these to build up her mana to a level that she can react to . . well . . lots of things! She has a small amount of golems as well to help her while she builds things up.

Personality/History: Sayla is a complicated individual to say the least. Her memories of her early life are fuzzy to say the least, and while she hasn't worked up the nerve to use her blue magicks to dip into them, she knows enough to define herself someone. Sayla hails from a plane where humanity is accosted by creatures of the night, enslaved by all manner of dark beasts. Sayla herself was the pet of a vampire, being carefully groomed and raised to be the perfect minion, before finally being turned into one herself to serve as that vampire's bride. That very night two things happened. 1: Humans rose up in revolt and set fire to the build, attempting to win their freedom. 2: Sayla's spark kicked in from the stress of numerous magics being flung around, and it kicked in EXPLOSIVELY. She doesn't remember what happened immediately afterwords, but she's fairly sure she may have killed her would-be husband, and lost herself in the Blind Eternities before finding her way to another plane of existance.

Since then, Sayla has become a bit of a wanderer, traveling from plane to plane in order to gather knowledge and artifacts of power. She has mostly tapped the Blue, and while she has tapped some Red she used artifacts to make up for the lack of diversity. While she is fairly moral, she also tends to adventure simply because . . well . . too much studying is boring. She's spent time in a handful of Planes already, and has now come to Zendikar to continue her search for rare items of power. Not particularly selfish for the most part, she's more than willing to team up with other Walkers and even non-Walkers in order to solve a good mystery, or find a lost treasure trove . . . though she has a habit of finding some of the rarer treats and ensuring that other people did not realize they were there.

I do love me some red/blue (ran a pretty awesome RU deck a couples years BS I that kicked lots of ass). I think Sayla's going to make a fine addition to this little band, and no criticisms to speak of. Very nice.

Thorn14

Is Green White doable?

Any way I can research mix colors?

Up there is a database of every Magic card ever. Good for inspiration. You can refine the search by color(s), card type, etc.

Also, interested, though with so many red planeswalkers I don't think I'll do the dragon theme I was thinking of.

Speaking of themes, a suggestion you can take or leave, since I no longer really have an idea. It could be interesting if you allowed three-color characters, provided they have some other clear theme to their spells. You can find a couple great examples of what I mean by looking at the Commander decks Wizards released.
Pretty much scrapped my signature because everything in it is hilariously out of date. I might work on fixing that eventually.

Vladimir valentine

ive decided my planeswalker will be black and blue. (mostly blakc magic though.)

@thorn14 if you go to the main website for it, it tells what colors are allied and enemies, green and white are allied so its possible. but truly any color combinations are possible.

Tempted to make a planeswalker who at first thinks the Bant are pretty cool, but then ends up horrified by them, and is actuallly a more down to earth (hurr) planeswalker who likes to set up communities and help people thrive around the multiverse. MAY end up taking a bit of an ego after doing so much helpful work. Or may even end up becoming a bit too much for independence for white/green.

But I wanna keep looking at combinations. Its fun.

At this point I think I may just open it up to any number of colors, including full Rainbow, and just judge it on a character by character basis. Honestly, I have no idea why I was keeping it limited to duals or monos, so you all can feel free to to basically go Rampant (not the growth but that's okay too!) with color combos.

Shame we're not making actual decks. I have so many ideas for Sayla's array of spells. XD

By the way, what's the character limit? I happen to also be a huge fan of the "Bant" archetype, and would like to have a character using those colors. (White, Green, and Blue)

I'm probably gonna cut off the total character limit at 9 or 10, but each player can have two characters if they like. I'm trying to avoid a huge cast just because it can be really hard to make really big groups work well with a high adventure plot.

Neat.

Although I'm gonna have a Green White character I think just FYI. May actually grow up in Bant and find it disgusting. But if someone would want Bant, I can change it to Selesnya

SargentToughie

I don't see anything wrong with having multiple people from the same plane, makes for a bit of interesting interaction for times when the plot slows down.

Hmm...But would someone born in Bant be one who thinks their culture is horrifying? Unless they planeswalked, then saw what they missed, and then visited Selesnya and was also horrified and said "Fuck this i'll do my own" ?

Also should we be concerned about Bolas? The fact a bunch of PW might meet up is gonna make him notice.

SargentToughie

I have an idea, lemme discuss it with you via PM, so that we don't clog up the main thread.

While Planeswalker Sayla is awesome, that -2 ability makes my head hurt. Instant-speed planeswalker abilities make me go waaat. @.@

It's too late for me to even hope to understand/properly weigh in on mechanics though. Sleep calls to me~!

Name: Callysta lockheart
Age: physically 18 (actually 212)
Gender: Female
Race:Vampire

Appearance:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

Home Plane: Innistrade
Mana Color(s): Black and Blue
Magic Specialties: Mind magic, curses, hexes, and Blood magic.(focuses mostly on black magic)

Weapons: “you want me to swing that thing? Why on earth would I do that?”
Garments:
Other Equipment: she has metal claws at the end of gloves that she wears, that’s about the closest  to a weapon she will ever get. She also has an amulet that slowly absorbs small amounts of her mana, storing it in a separate mana pool. The longer she wears it without using it the more energy it stores until it reaches maximum capacity. allowing her to tap into as an added mana pool if the need ever arises.

Personality: callysta has a very sarcastic, and sometimes nihilistic attitude towards most people. She is often sour and uncaring of other people’s feelings, often only doing what she feels like doing. She prefers not to start confrontations, and avoids them unless necessary. Though she is a black magic user, and won’t think twice about killing another being she isn’t completely heartless. She preferes tormenting and playing with enemies, using mind magic and curses to annoy, chase of or punish those who challenge her.

History:callysta was raised to get what she wanted through the manipulation of those weaker than her. When she was growing up she learned how to take advantage of people and rob them blind with her mind magic. She eventually learned that she could hire herself out to place curses upon people’s enemies, and even kill if the job paid well enough. Eventually righteous warriors and guards hunted her down as a witch, or abomination. Life was never easy for her, and she came close to death when a group of knights surrounded her and were ordered to destroy her. Her spark ignited, and she tore through the knights with her powers. She eventually began to travel between planes, exploring and collecting treasure that captures her eye.

MisterYada

Name: Beror Flintsteel
Physical Age: 34
Real Age: Undetermined - Estimated in the latter half of his second century
Gender: Male
Race: Vulshok
Appearance:
Home Plane: Mirrodin
Mana: Black and Red
Magic Specialties: Kill and Burn spells
Weapon: Gauntleted Fist
Personality: Beror is a hermit of sorts. Like all Mirrans, his life has been devoted to the craft of artifacts. He thinks in a different way from most, though. While the rest of Mirrodin relied on the power of the Darksteel to weather Phyrexian attacks, he wandered battlefields, plucking the parts of the undead machines for his own uses, seeking the secrets of Urabrask's Forge and Norn's mysterious Porcelain Metal. Some believe he is twisted by the black mana that infects the world from Phyrexia's touch, but he only sees it as an end to a mean.
History: The grizzled forge-fiend has been learning the way of fire and metal since he can remember. While the rest of Mirrodin produces their craft like a worldwide factory, he perfected it into an art of emotion. In particular, weapons with the intent of killing, and letting the wielder know that. Few of his works saw the light of day, much less the heat of battle, for he has lived long on the Blackcleave Cliffs. His touch of black mana comes not from Phyrexia, but from his lifelong exposure to the Mephidross. Despite these, the man is very open to other people. He does not let the swamp mana color his personality, just his magic.

I would like to say, after some concerns have been laid to rest, I am throwing my hat in. Here's to a fun game. Also, I do NOT want to take Latooni's schtick as the artifact person. I want to make that clear.

Primarch

Afraid I'm going to need to step out. But good luck!

Think I might step out too. No character ideas seem to be coming to me :(

Thorn14

Name: Rose Lilan
Age: 22, but been alive for 25 more years since becoming a Planeswalker
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Appearance:

Home Plane: Bant
Mana Color(s): Green/White
Magic Specialties: Rose prefers to build up her defenses while summoning as large and powerful of a force she can, and when she feels prepared, she overwhelms the enemy , enhancing them all the while.  She also uses plantlife and the earth itself to hinder or attack her enemies. A favorite summon of hers is the Thorn Elemental.

Weapons:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
Whoever gave the name "Blade of Life" was quite ironic. For whenever something was killed by this magical blade, the earth would overcome the remains and from it, 2 saprolings would form from the remains to serve under the bidder of its owner. Rose snagged this weapon when fleeing from  Selesnya Conclave. She is not one to fight for herself, but even she realizes sometimes a weapon will come in handy.

History: Being born in Bant, Rose's life was one of safety, security, and growth. But even as one of the botanical mages, Rose knew something was off. Creativity in the lands were stifled and dead. Even nature itself knew how to be creative, and how to adapt and find order in the chaos of the wilds. And yet her people stood still, like stagnant water in a pond. So when the Grixis came when the lands merged, her fears turned to reality. As men and women were being slaughtered left and right, Rose could only stand by and watch as all she built crumbled before her. Before the death blow of an undead warrior's axe split her skull open, her shard sparked alive, and in that moment of terror, she teleported out of the plane.

Rose woke up in a green and prosperous land. Upon research she found herself in the Selesnya Conclave. She knew that she was no longer in her world, and there would be nothing she could do for Bant, but this place seemed like Utopia. Nature and society living together in perfect harmony, with everyone supporting each other. It was paradise....Until Rose discovered the sinister nature of the Conclave. What good is a society if everyone is a mindless drone? It was Bant all over again. Using her teaches from her short stay in the Conclave, Rose fled the plane again and took it upon herself a new quest to use her new powers to help those around her, helping fledgling communities thrive and learn to exist peacefully in nature, and she'd do it all without taking away their will.

Personality: Rose is a bit idealistic and possibly Naive, even after becoming a planeswalker. While the horrors around her might make her falter, she's only let it toughen her resolve to improve the lot of those around her, and to show that her way is the correct way. Able to laugh and have fun, Rose is a friendly sort, if a little shy to things she doesn't know at first. Her creativity and desire to grow has allowed her to listen to new ideas that may not be those of her own liking, making her possible to coerce or corrupt.

Tinkertailer

Hi everyone I'm a long time MTG player who has been out of the game for a couple of years but would love to get in on this game if you'll have me.
Any comments or concerns about my character are greatly encouraged and appreciated.

Name: Ichiya of the Dripping Spear
Age: 21
Gender:Male
Race: Human

Appearance:

Home Plane: Kamigawa
Mana Color(s): Green
Magic Specialties: Poison spells. Summoning creatures with deathtouch.

Weapons: A spear which has been imbued with Ichiya's most powerful poison. One slash is deadly but he is reluctant to resort to this weapon unless absolutely necessary.
Garments:See picture
Other Equipment: A pouch of ingredients with which he can craft specialist poisons depending on the creature he is facing.

History: Raised as a monk in Jukai Forest Ichiya was taught to connect with nature from a young age. He found he connected most with the toxic and venomous creatures of the forest and began to study these creatures becoming an expert in poison. His order decided that this was not the kind of thing a monk should be doing and thought he would be more suited to the Orochi. As they exiled him from the order the reality of never being able to go back to the way of life that was all he had ever known distressed the young monk enough to activate his spark. In his short time as a planeswalker he has wandered alone across the Multiverse searching for his purpose in life.

Personality: Ichiya is a quiet young man who tends to stay by himself if he can help it. Even though he was cast out he still holds the values of a monk and loathes the killing of any man or beast. His internal struggle with his passion and fascination with poison and his hatred of death keeps him conflicted. He wants to do good but his magic can only be used to destroy. This has led to him currently searching for a higher purpose or goal to pursue.

Shaitan

Name:  Cade Tel'Fier
Age:  25
Gender: Male
Race: Half Elven

Appearance: Cade is a tall man of only recently sun bronzed skin, carrying scars from numerous battles proudly. With green eyes speaking of ferocity, even as his carriage calls forth stories of noble knights. Cade is a man that will interminably be at odds within himself.

Home Plane: Alara
Mana Color(s): White and Red
Magic Specialties: Nobility and Ferocity, angels, knights, elementals and dragons

Weapons: Broadsword and clawed gauntlet of power
Garments: partial arm and leg armor
Other Equipment: darksteel inscribed pearl medallion pendant

Personality: Cade is a man at odds with his past and his future, once a warmage and knight of Bant, he found himself changed after the wars between the shards as they were reunited. At once both a noble champion that might feel at home in legends, he descends into the bloodrush of combat with savagery. Loyal without comparison and rewarding of treachery only with a sea of blood. Carrying the laws of Bant in his heart as a personal code of chivalry, he walks the planes learning and fighting for lost causes wherever they might be found.

History: A renegade knight from the ex shard of Bant who took to the brutal and ferocious ways of the Naya shard after the merging of the shards. Glorying in the savage battles waged he found himself reveling in the adrenaline of life and death, riding on the razor edge of nobility and barbarism. Taking careful lessons of his battles at the warring front against the Nayan gargantua and leonin tribes, he learned that not all battles can be fought by a single champion in ritual combat but instead must be fought by fire and lightning. Even as he picked up the chaotic taint of red magic he took it within himself, instead merely defending against the hurled spells of lighting, he learned to turn them, and match them. Towards the end of the shard wars he came under scrutiny from others in Bant, at least until his spark ignited hurling him into the blind eternities to impact upon Ravnica, a guildless man torn from his world amidst a crisis of a world war.

Once upon Ravnica, Cade soon found himself coming up against many strange creatures the likes of which he had never encountered before on Alara. Unable to understand the power that brought him to this strange land of colossal cities that literally swallowed the entirety of the plane, he came to a head with the Guild of the Boros in a large struggle that partially collapsed one of the city's towers. Fighting to a standstill Cade came face to face with the still fresh Boros Warleader, Aurelia, one of the last of the firemane angels. Awe struck to be in the presence of one of the angels he worshiped as a knight in Bant, he surrendered, only to be offered a place amongst the Boros legion.

Learning to balance his warring desires, Cade quickly picked up the ways of the Boros Legion. Learning to harness lightning warfare, to strike quickly and unrelentingly to attack in battalion, while laying down covering fire with powerful elementals and the rare dragon. During a raid on the remnants of the infinite consortium, Cade found another of his kind, a planeswalker, and gave chase not truly understanding where he would land next as he tackled the strange metal armed man  when he began to fade. Unbalanced by the unexpected weight of another planeswalker tackling him the two were hurled into the blind eternities experiencing hellish lifetimes in seconds before they were torn away from eachother. Cade came to awaken in a blasted crater in the ruined mountains of Otaria on Dominaria. Only at this time did Cade begin to truly realize his nature, that he was a planeswalker, that all the possibilities of what the world might have become were real.

Cade began to explore learning what he could becoming and champion as he was raised to be, though certainly not the clean cut ritual combatant he was taught to become. Flickering from world to world, from Innistrad to Ravnica, he has never been able to bring himself to return home to Alara, he knows that one can never return home.
