I'm Canadian and it's all over the news here, but I've never understood the fascination with the Royal Family. Seems like a waste of time to me.

Well known right-wing fraudster James O'Keefe attempted to catfish the Washington Post into publishing a false story about Roy Moore in an apparent attempt to harm the credibility of the Post and other women:

It's a little long, but a very interesting read that sounds like something out of a spy novel. Good on the Post for catching the woman with her inconsistencies, and calling out O'Keefe on his bullshit. It makes you wonder if he's working with the Moore campaign or Brietbart on this. It wouldn't surprise me if that's the case.

It's not my intention to be rude to anyone at all, but I really do want to brutally frank: British people seem weird and silly to me. You have to make a big scene over it because of whose long ago ancestor you have. Actually I would probably bear the same ridiculous conception of any monarchy or monarch really. I'm sorry, but it's just so last millennium, seriously just let people be people and get over it, making a symbol of a being on account of birthright just sounds ridiculous and utterly problematic to me. Just make them all ordinary citizens already and you can be like me and treat your ancestry like a social gathering fun fact about yourself. Honestly, I'm pleased about all the news about the royal engagement that's on my Facebook feed. Prince Harry beats the fuck out of the Kardashian/Jenner clan any fucking day, and it's a nice break from Trump, Ryan, and McConnell doing all they can to fuck us over.

  I don't think that's how it works, you're either guilty or not guilty. He probably is guilty of manslaughter, but that's not what he was charged with, so he's not guilty.

It would violate the clause against double jeopardy, i think. Prosecutors will often charge someone with both manslaughter and murder, for example, because they hope to prove the harder charge but are more confident of the lesser charge. You cant be found guilty without a trial, and you cant be tried twice for the same crime.

  Yeah, but in all fairness to the DA, given how politicized the incident was, they may have had pressure put on them to charge him with murder.
