So I'm not really seeing anything in the way of this on this site. I think it's a fantastic game, I think the dice system is amazing and gives more dynamics for the players and the GMs to play with than the d20 system, and I think the universe itself is simply amazing.

I'm not really requesting anything in particular as far as campaign setting, subject matter, or even dropping a character in position to try and play. I am just seeking a GM/group to get together, start playing this amazing system, and have fun with...anyone interested/find this system fun?

Pumpkin Seeds

I love this system.  Just don't have my books.

wander

I'd play. I'm sure I got my Edge of Empire book back now.

I also have a Rodian dood ready to play if a game does come up. However, I'm still learning the system, so I'd be less hot as a GM. Would play for sure though. :)

Pumpkin Seeds

My books will hopefully be coming soon.

ShinigamiWolf

I have with my RL group almost every single book they've put out ^_^. We've been playing the system for about 3 years now.

Pumpkin Seeds

I've only run one tabletop game with the system.  Had to stop once I had my son.  Really enjoyed running the game though.

Pumpkin Seeds

Double post!  Trying to come up with some ideas for a game.

wander

I'd prefer Edge of Empire and some free trader shenanigans with some backside dirty deals, though that's just me.  :-)

Of course the Galactic Civil War and Jedi also have a place in games like that, so it shouldn't really cut off any who want something else.

Pumpkin Seeds

Oh yeah definitely Edge of the Empire.

ShadowFox89

I'd love to play, but I'm burned out on trying to get games started. No one ever goes past making a concept.

I'll probably focus on the Hutt cartels and such at the start.  So I'll start throwing together some Hutts, their business interests and such.  That way you know who you ser..err..ummm...work for..

ShadowFox89

Would you be open to including Force and Destiny?

Pumpkin Seeds

Not really.  I'd like to keep things focused on Edge of the Empire and the feel the game brings to the table.

ShinigamiWolf

Oh, you have decided to give GMing this game a try? Would you be allowing equipment from the other books to give more diversity of geer or going purely EotE and it's assorted Companion books?

Pumpkin Seeds

I am fine considering gear from the other books.

wander

Woo! I'm excited!  :D

My Rodian uses all stuff from the corebook of EoE, so he should be fine I'mma hoping.

I'll pass, enjoy the game.

I find that Force-users in the FFG games are severely underpowered and a bit lame anyway...

They are faithful to the original trilogy when they weren't doing OP stuff and it was basically comparing to Luke, Obi-Wan, Vader and Palpatine, who didn't do a lot of crazy things (outside of perhaps RotJ maybe). Having minor telekinetic and telepathic abilities to build up eventually to RotJ leveled hijinks is kinda meh, plus light-sabres cost loads of credits...

I kinda enjoy the Firefly take on exploration of the galaxy and free-trading hijinks.  :-)

Pumpkin Seeds

I have a few reasons for not allowing the book outright.  So it wasn't an off the cuff decision.  I am working on some details and the first adventure.  Does anyone mind a bit of in media res?

wander

In media res? I have no idea what you mean by this but I should be fine with It?

Lol, I will probably be the last to build as far as characters go so that I make sure and shore up whatever gaps might appear. Plus I haven't decided what combat role I would like...melee or ranged.

Muse

Hi there.  Do we have room for another?

We might wind up a bit on the scaley side.  I was thinking of a Trandoshan bounty hunter, and pumpkin pointed out the Martial Artist path!

In Media Res is traditionally when you open up in the midst of the action, often right in the middle of an action scene, usually in the 2nd act of the chronological story. Then the audience is filled in about how things started and the 1st act often via exposition once the main characters clear through the action.

Muse

Yes indeed.  It literally means, "To begin in the middle. "

And I think it can be a great tactic!
