Intrigued by Xillen's "Cube XXX" idea (hope you don't mind!), I was also inspired to run something based on the Cube movies - but from the other side of the sexual perspective: all male. I don't care what gender you are in RL, but the characters must be male, and all the sexual encounters will be M/M. (Edit - I am changing this. Any gender is fine, for player and for character. I will accomodate preferences as well as I am able - i.e., if you are playing a gay male, you will only ever have to do it with another male, etc.) I will be playing one of the characters, and I am looking for three others. There will be puzzle-solving involved - you will be able to escape if you can figure out the sequence in time. If a room is trapped, only a specific sexual encounter - defined by clues given within the room - will unlock the doors and allow the characters to escape.

Elements will include (but may not be limited to): non-consenual, dominant/submissive, anal, oral, masturbation

Any takers?

Edit - one so far... Thanks, Nic!

Not at all :)

Yours seems a little different though. You seem to be focusing on interaction between the characters.

Anyhow, good luck with your game. Most people know me well enough to know I won't be coming anywhere near an M/M game :P

That was the intent, yes.

To each his own, right? I respect everyone's feelings well enough to hold nothing of the sort against anyone.  :-)

Yeap. I just included that to clarify that I was only posting to comment, not to actually join :)

And, to round it out...
I'm still waiting for a Cube with variously mixed characters that isn't going to try and police the medical sex (misnamed "biology") / social gender of the players (nor, ideally of all the characters).

I thought that film had potential too!

[Hijack/nag!]

Be careful, some of the chromosomes of your players might actually not be XX nor XY.  Or she might have harder than average skin, enough that you'd be frightened if you knew her.  Or, your gal players might all like to wear flannel and boxers when they aren't on the Net playing damsels in distress. Or, your guy players might be typing their parts actually in lingerie, after looking at hetero porn for inspiration.

[/nag]

Anyway, umm yeah, wanted: gender-blind Cube!

???

I already stated that gender of the player was irrelevant.

And if I don't get takers for male characters, I can certainly alter the concept and have a mixed bag of genders for characters - an all-male cast was only my first idea - nothing's written in stone.

I didn't mean to upset anybody...

Sounds very, very interesting!

Count me in, I'm very curious about this one. Thank you for the invitation, by the way.

See ya around,
Nic

Don't mind me, I read the original and at the time, it was just one of a few that were trying to securely pin predictable genders on the players (you have to do that before you can tell us to act them or play "same type" characters or not, btw).

I wouldn't tell anyone what to bring into their threads or not; I'm just personally, easily annoyed at how many assumptions flow around with gender talk.  It wasn't anything personal, just I noticed a good string of threads recently demanding players of particular ilks.  All sorts of fantasies in games are one thing; trying to be sure your fantasy is on the other side of the screen -- of course people do it, but it tends to shut down lots of possibilities for me as I more often am interested in female or at least "smoother" characters.

While I appreciate it opening up in this case, I'm not sure why it changed (with all that means for how likely I am to fit in).  And also, just whether I am totally ready for another thread right now.

I sort of wondered how difficult these puzzles are imagined to be, or how they're going to be resolved.  Something where you have to cycle through all the positions in the Kamasutra to get out of a room, isn't going to appeal to me personally.  Just for example.  I hope it would be easier than that, but I'm notoriously bad at puzzle games and have this feeling I'd get stuck.  Or maybe stuck with something I just wouldn't care for for my character, and no alternatives (maybe I'm just not the greatest for writing up "random" NC activities, but I could see different ranges of options or non-options there).

And if they can't figure it out "in time," do they get killed, or do they get a whole different room/puzzle?

A valid concern, and one I am thinking a lot about. One of the reasons I wish to play one of the characters trapped in the cube with you is so that he can provide some explanation - much as Rennes did in the first film - so that you're not wandering around completely blind. I can also see that endless repetition of sex-to-escape can dull very quickly, so I'm working on re-thinking some of the scenarios. But one of the things I was kind of hoping for with this game was the kind of inter-character tension you got in the first film. I don't think the PCs should resort to killing each other off, but the dramatic tension would keep the story interesting.

By "in time" I only mean what they realized early on in the orginal film: Since they have no food or water - 1. they can't stay put, and 2. they can't just wander around randomly or, in either case, they'll die of thirst and starvation. They need to figure out the system behind the arrangement of the rooms if they expect to get out before the timer of their own bodies runs out.

My apologies to everyone that has so far expressed a desire to play in this game, but I have to put it on hold for now. Too many RL issues right now, and I'd rather do it right when I do get around to doing it. When I have the time and the idea more firmly worked out, I will recruit again, and hope to see you all back!

Apologies again.
