Info About Credence (some facts, some theories)

If information from "Crimes of Grindelwald" is correct, Credence was born in 1901, putting him at 25 in the first film and 26 in the second.

With this information, we can also assume Credence is a pureblood and a Dumbledore. Since this information came from Grindelwald, there are theories that it's all a lie, but it is the current belief in his mind that he is pureblood.

Credence is in possession/infected by an Obscurus. He is slowly creating a more symbiotic relationship with his Obscurus. He is the oldest known living Obscurial, most dying before the age of ten. It is likely that Grindelwald is hoping for this relationship to form. That if Credence can control the Obscurus rather than it just being a parasite, then he would be unstoppable. Now that he has a wand, he seems able to direct the Obscurus in a way he couldn't before.

Being an Obscurial, Credence's powers differ from other witches and wizards. He seems to connect more with emotional magic. The sort of magic that protected Harry from Voldemort as a baby. While the destructive force of the Obscurus is his primary source of power, he has displayed a few acts of non-verbal and wandless magic, however it has all been in anger and sadness. It is messy and dangerous. Where Lily used love to protect her child, Credence uses anger to destroy. It is unknown if he can actually use magic the way other magic users do. It is likely the forced suppression of his magic for so long and the Obscurus will make it impossible for him to ever access magic properly. Upon receiving his wand, he was immediately able to direct the power of the Obscurus to pulverize an entire mountainside, a sign of how strong he actually is.

Pre-New York incident, Credence was a quiet, submissive, and scared person. He had no personality of his own and relied on others to direct him in his day to day life. He was beaten and run down by his adoptive mother. Made to believe he was sinful, broken, damaged, and worthless for the first 25 years of his life. That if he ever left his mother and the Second Salemers, he would die. Credence had no reason not to believe these things. Despite that, he was easy attached to people. He was willing to take beatings for things his youngest sister did, because he worried about her hating him. When Graves turned up, it can easily be seen that Credence is greatly affected by the other man. Possibly even in love with him. He wants Graves to take him away and care for him. Whether these feelings were sexual is hard to say, but there was some form of romantic, loving affection towards Graves. Grave's betrayal released the Obscurus in a way it never had before.

Post-New York incident, Credence is still mostly a quiet person, but he's taken a drastic turn in personality. He's a bit more confident and seems more serious and angry than before. He's willing to take more drastic measures to get what he wants. Even willing to leave behind friends in order to complete his task of finding his birth family. Deep down, he still very easily manipulated, forms attachments extremely fast, and

Sexually, I say he's a virgin. Likely leaning towards stronger women or women he considers 'broken' like himself.

Obscurial Info

Rowlings states that an Obscurial is created under very specific conditions. It takes a large amount of physical and emotional abuse/trauma, as well as a self loathing/hatred of their own magic. I personally think that Credence killed his birth parents and that perhaps started his internalized hatred of his own magic, though it's not likely he remembers any of this. She states that "An Obscurus is developed under very specific conditions: trauma associated with the use of magic, internalized hatred of one’s own magic and a conscious attempt to suppress it. The Dursleys were too frightened of magic ever to acknowledge its existence to Harry. While Vernon and Petunia had a confused hope that if they were nasty enough to Harry his strange abilities might somehow evaporate, they never taught him to be ashamed or afraid of magic. Even when he was scolded for ‘making things happen’, he didn’t make any attempt to suppress his true nature, nor did he ever imagine that he had the power to do so."

It is a parasitic force and likely puts a drain on it's host in some way, even when not 'active'.

It is usually released when the host reaches some kind of breaking point. Fear, anger, and distress seem to be causes. Given that it is parasitic, it might be easier to release if the host is in a weakened state (physically).

Most hosts do not live past the age of 10.

Plot Bunnies

Put on the Red Light - TAKEN

Year is 1925 (before the events of Fantastic Beasts) and Graves (not really Graves) feels he needs a way to control Credence. While telling the Second Salem boy that he will train him as a wizard (even though he believes Credence to be a Squib or No-Maj) seems to work, he can tell that the boy is starting to have his doubts that it will ever happen. Not wanting to lose who he believes to be his connection to finding the 'Child' he envisioned, he decides to give Credence a second connection to the wizarding community.

He brings Credence to a wizarding brothel. A place that services witches, wizards, and creatures outside the human spectrum. He pays a young, attractive witch to toy with him. Talking him up, flirting with him, maybe a little kissing and over the clothes teasing; but he specifically states not to actually sleep with him or make him do anything more than that. Just someone to make him feel good about himself and to pretend like everything Graves tells him about being able to teach a No-Maj to use magic is true. She agrees to do it, not just because of the good money for little work, but because she knows better than to cross the head of the magical law enforcement.

It goes a little too well and Credence begins to stalk her. After he forces her to lose a high paying client, she goes to Graves who tells her, basically, that her job is to make Credence feel good. He pays her well to be his 'girlfriend'. She refuses to sleep with him, but agrees (mostly under the threat of what Graves could have done to her).

Notes: The witch would form a close relationship with Credence, though it's mostly one sided coming from him. She is more indifferent towards him. Putting up with his strange behaviors (asking to pray when they start getting physical, sobbing and asking for forgiveness if he cums, begging her not to get angry with him at the slightest sign that he might have disappointed her, etc...).

The game would either end with Credence killing her (perhaps she finally gets sick of him and tries to brush him off) or it could end with an alternate ending for the movie and Credence managing to escape and going to her (injured and nearly dead).

Also, I'm very open to it being a wizard and not a witch. Making it M/M.

A Crack in the Wall

In 1923, shortly after Credence's 17th birthday, Mary Lou Barebone brings home a new orphan. She (or he) is sixteen or seventeen. Recently lost their parents. Mary Lou states that their parents were alcoholic sinners who caused their own deaths. Credence can't help himself as he starts to have feelings for this new person. Someone who actually says kind things to him and doesn't look at him with disgust like his sister Chastity does.

For the first time in his life, Credence starts to feel wanted. Even to the point that he gets up the nerve to admit his feelings.

Notes: The new orphan will be subject to witnessing the abuse Credence goes through at the hands of Mary Lou. He even takes punishments that would go towards Chastity or Modesty, claiming that he was the one who did whatever it was. The romance part of it would be mostly fluffy. Credence would have a hard time ignoring the religious ideals that had been stuffed into his head and hesitant to do things, even though he desires it.

As for the game ending, it could span the full three years before the movie beginning in 1926. My end goal is that something drastic happens that causes Credence to crack and unleash his Obscurial. Maybe his 'lover' runs away from the Second Salem home and leaves him there. Maybe Mary Lou accidentally goes too far in a beating and kills them. Or maybe they give Credence the choice to run away with them, but he's too scared to do it.

It could be expanded to after the fight as the first plot. With the last strand of Credence's essence finding it's way to this person and them caring for him till he's recovered. Them being on the run from the American Magical Congress as they catch wind that he managed to survive. Or just them trying to build a life, but Credence being so damaged that it hinders any progress they make.

About Graves (some facts, some theories)

No official birth year or age is given for Percival Graves, but given his status and the actor age, I assume him to be late-thirties to early-forties.

Is/Was an Auror, Director of Magical Security and head of MACUSA's Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

Was likely kidnapped before 1926 when his identity was stolen. Not likely to be a loyal follower of Grindelwald, since if he was, the other wizard would simply have Graves take care of everything rather than taking of his form.

As the Director of Magical Security, Percival Graves was somewhat of an authoritarian; being very shrewd and single-minded, but "not a bad guy".

Given that no one seems surprised or in awe of his magical abilities after Grindelwald takes his place, it is likely that Graves is an extremely talented wizard on his own.

It can be assumed that even after being kidnapped, he could still be alive somewhere. If Grindelwald was using Polyjuice, he would need access to Graves' DNA to keep brewing it. Potter canon doesn't state whether the DNA has to come from a living person or not, but I always assumed they have to be alive. Otherwise, Grindelwald is likely keeping the shaved hair of a dead man somewhere in his possessions and I prefer to think he just kept Graves alive somewhere.

Plot Bunnies

Tonight Will Be Glorious

Recently promoted Percival Graves is taken out for a night on the town by his co-workers. Prohibition for No-Maj has only been recently put in place and is slowly making it's way into the wizarding community. Even still, they managed to find quite a bit to drink and against their better judgement, they find their way into a No-Maj speakeasy. They manage to keep themselves composed enough not to yank out their wands and end up causing a major incident, but when Percival wakes up in the bed of a No-Maj the next morning, he realizes he's made a terrible mistake.

The No-Maj is kind and understanding about the whole thing. They both insist that it's not something they would normally do and go about their ways.

What Pervical doesn't realize at first is that he left his scorpion tie pin in their apartment.

Notes: Either the No-Maj would somehow manage to track Graves down in an effort to return the pin or Graves would realize it's missing and track it back to the No-Maj. He considers Obliviating them, but as he starts remembering more and more about their night together, he finds it harder to do. He has never had many social interactions with No-Maj, since it's strictly forbidden, and he finds it hard to keep his thoughts off the one he slept with.

Open to any sexuality/gender pairing with Graves.

Say A Hail Mary

He isn't sure how much time has passed since his fight with Grindelwald. The wizard had come to him and tried to convince him to help his cause. Instead, they had dueled. He managed to impress the blond wizard with his skills, but in the end, he was taken down. When he woke, he was trapped in a small, windowless room without his wand. Even his wandless magic was unable to help him escape. For the first few weeks, a house elf brings him his meals and clean clothing. Despite being captured, he is treated well. The house elf refuses to speak to him in the slightest, which he isn't surprised by.

But after what feels like forever, another person shows up in his cell. It's not Grindelwald, but they have a wand and seem unaffected by his magic. They explain that it's a potion being laced into his food that is suppressing his abilities. They are a follower of Grindelwald and unphased by his attempt to convince them to let him go. He tries to physically overpower them, but realizes that even if he does, he still has no way out of the windowless/doorless room. He'd simply starve to death after enough time.

Notes: Graves could form a Stockholm type affection for the witch/wizard caring for him or he could slowly win them over to his way of thinking. Either way, in the end, when news gets out that Grindelwald has been captured by the Magical Congress, they make the decision to release him. Once free, he would over power them and bring them back to the Congress with him. Though instead of pleading a case for their execution, he pleads for leniency. Letting the Congress know that they could have abandoned him and left him for dead. The Congress agrees to release them into Graves' care as an informant.

Again, I'm okay with any sexuality/gender pairing for Graves.

Help Me Remember

After being captured, Grindelwald easily gives up what happened to the real Percival Graves. The President and Aurors are surprised at his willingness to say where he's been keeping the man. They dispatch a team to the location and find Graves milling about an old house in Vermont. It's tucked away in the woods and rather secluded. They're shocked at the lack of not just magical security, but No-Maj security as well. They find Graves just wandering around the house as if he'd always lived there. He becomes very defensive, though doesn't try to use any magic, when they come in. He doesn't seem to recognize any of them, even though before his capture, he'd worked with many of them for well over a decade.

The Mediwitches and Mediwizards report back that much of his core memories have been removed. That he has the ability to remember how to do basic things (tie his shoes, shower, eat, walk, and what not), but who he was is gone. He has nothing left of his time at school and his life as an Auror. Very little of even his childhood is left. He's basically an empty shell that occasionally has flashes of memory shadows that he doesn't understand.

He's left in long term care of a Mediwitch(or Wizard) who was friends with him growing up in the hopes that his memories can be regained.

Notes: This would be more 'fluffy'. The Mediwitch/wizard taking him on walks around the city, sitting in the park, talking a lot, and things like that. They don't have to have been friends in school. They could have been enemies, but as a caretaker, the Mediwitch/wizard is under oath to take care of him. The physical side of the intimacy would be slow going.

I'm okay with the OC being any gender or sexuality.

About Grindelwald (facts and theories)

Would be 42-43 in 1926 when Fantastic Beasts takes place.

Reign of terror ended in 1945 after a duel with Albus Dumbledore. He was then incarcerated at the wizarding prison he had built, Nurmengard. Where he stayed till his death in 1998.

Was expelled from Durmstrang for dark art experiments so horrible that even a school known for the dark arts had to take action against him. He carved the mark of the Deathly Hallows into the walls before he left.

Seeks to end the International Statute of Secrecy and create a global hierarchical order lead by powerful witches and wizards that would dominate over Muggles (and No-Maj).

He is highly idealistic, talented, and will do whatever he deems necessary to achieve his goals. Even going as far as to use the feelings he knew Albus Dumbledore had for him to his own advantage, even though he had no romantic feelings for the man. He is self-centered and highly arrogant, but he is able to see talent in others and will manipulate them as best he can to use them to his advantage. When he realized what Credence was, he immediately tried to appeal to the boy and charm his way back into good favor.

Considers Voldemort to be a powerful, but complete, idiot.

Has one light grey-blue eye and one dark eye.

Was able to successfully imitate Percival Graves for what is considered an extended period of time without drawing any suspicion from long time co-workers, friends, and likely family.

Is said to be extremely charming, but with a vicious temper.

Prefers to torture, rather than out right kill. He easily overpowered Newt when they first battled. Rather than kill the younger wizard, he opted to torture and incapacitate him with bolts of lightening. When Aberforth Dumbledore challenged his plans, he tortured him briefly with the Cruciatus Cruse.

Plot Bunnies

My Creation

Durmstrang was once known for being a school that not only accepted, but taught the Dark Arts. Yet something changed in the final year of Gellert Grindelwald. He was a highly prized student. He excelled in everything he did. Yet, even a school like Durmstrang couldn't turn their heads to what he'd done.

Necromancy.

Many believe the branch of magic is one that does not work. The bringing back of the dead is frowned upon, even by the Dark School. Mostly because the creatures that come back are mindless, soulless, and nearly useless. They are strong and hard to control. For a time, he believed that the Resurrection Stone could grant him the ability to create and control an army of Inferi. However, he was unable to obtain the stone and instead worked in more...messy...conditions.

Notes: This will be a more EX game. Gellert charming and seducing a fellow classmate. Likely quite a bit of bondage and blood play. Eventually, he would kill his classmate and bring them back as the first, and only, souled Inferi. He'd learn the hard way why such creatures don't exist. They would struggle with having experienced death. Possibly having seen the after life and been forced back.

Gender and sexuality for this game doesn't matter. M/F or M/M will work.

Mein Vormund

In 1946, the Muggle World is working on recovery and repair after World War II. The Wizarding World is recovering and repairing from their own war with the  dark Wizard, Grindelwald. The prisoners from his fortress like prison, Nurmengard, were released. Those who helped torture the prisoners were put on trial, as were his fanatics who took part in his army. While the wizarding world took pity on those who had fallen for his charm and words, they had to decide what to do with the wizard himself.

There were talks of executing him, but Albus Dumbledore said that death would be too kind. Instead, he was taken to his own prison and sentenced to live out his life in the small cell.

After some time, they realized that while it was simple enough to care for him, it was time consuming. Dumbledore wouldn't allow the use of Dementors to care for the Dark Wizard and instead opted for a more humane option. He suggested a human guardian.

Notes: Gender, age, and sexuality does not matter for the OC. This game would be more psychological and less physical. Whomever the guardian is, they would likely be some kind of high profile criminal. Possibly some kind of war criminal since the war has just ended. Something nasty to earn them the punishment of having to care for Grindelwald for the duration of his sentence. By 1946, Grindelwald would be in his sixties, but wizards age differently. He likely wouldn't look much older than his appearance in the Fantastic Beasts film.

The story could last till Grindelwald's death in 1998 or perhaps they get a reprieve from their punishment earlier. Grindelwald could try to charm them into doing things for him. Perhaps not to escape, but just so he could keep up the manipulation he seems to enjoy.

PM or post here with your interest.

And, as always, I'm willing to play either the Canon or OC characters.
