Personality: Dealing with his own men usually drives him nuts. He has little patience and too much temper, though he also knows how to control himself and keep a calm attitude most of the time. Ren will always take the initiative when something has to be done as he is quick at making assertive decisions, and has no problem with giving orders and directing more than a few people. He likes things done quickly and done correctly, and hates the idea of fixing other people's mistakes, though he will do it if there's no other option. Ren feels superior to most and has an overall cold and indifferent attitude toward most people, especially the men and women working for him, with very few exceptions like Aidan. He won't move a finger for anyone if he's not getting anything in return and he's quick to remember debts and owned favors.


Biography: Ren grew up in a middle-class family, with his parents and a younger brother. He had a healthy relationship with his family, going out together on Sundays and organizing family vacations. Young Ren enjoyed his life, spending time with his brother and parents, and he learned the basics of car mechanics from his father. Once in a while, Ren, his brother, and father would go on hunting trips, though he always found these incursions to the wilds boring and pointless. Why bother in going into the woods and waste your time when there was a whole system already providing food and goods for everyone? He always had that vision about the world. Why do the job, if you can get someone to do it for you? Although he only applied this to the things he didn't like or enjoy.

Ren finished high school with more than average grades and went for a car engineer career at college, loving cars but not wanting to get his hands dirty as an ordinary mechanic. He went through college with the solid idea of having his own workshop some day. Ren was still in college when he discovered drugs was a great way to make money, and slowly got himself into the business. It was just weed at first, but having a great talent for business, he quickly added more products to his inventory. He never got high nor had a smoke in his life, and he rarely drinks and despises junkies, only seeing them as an easy way to make some real money, real quick.

When he was twenty-six years old he had a one night stand with Iris, a woman he met at a bar. That was the last time he got drunk. After his first important deal, his partner decided to break their arrangement and disappeared with the money. Ren and Iris met again four years later, when Ren found out he had a daughter, April. Immediately that girl became his entire world and he'd do anything for her.

He is generally seen in designer suits, always tasteful and never gaudy and he is never alone. Francesco and Carlo - his two 'assistants' are always in close proximity. New York City is such a dangerous place to be, after all. There might be the rumour that both are Hitmen or Bodyguards but what does rumour matter, anyways? Lorenzo is known to be a connoisseur of expensive luxury cars, driving Maserati himself. He does not seem to bear and tattoos or piercings.

Biography:

What little is known about Lorenzo DiStefano is obscure at best. He is clearly European, his accent might give away his heritage on a whim. Little is smoother than an Italian accent, after all. His ties apparently go all across the big pond, allegedly to Apulia/South Italy. Even more obscure are the rumours about him being connected to the Mafia. Such a nasty word, no? Who uses it anymore today, seriously? Unconfirmed at best and those who uncover too much have the nasty habit of taking a trip to the Hudson - with a one-way ticket, needless to say.

More is known about his legal business of course. A renowned importer of requisite and expensive wines, with connections to various politicians and other people that count in town. His customers value the excellent service and the ability to even get his hands on rare vintages from overseas.

His father, Alessandro DiStefano is the current head of the family, several years ago, after the horrible accident of his oldest son, Roberto, Lorenzo was sent to replace him in New York City. What happened back then is still up to much speculation. People talked about a car bomb, others about an execution among gangsters. It might as well have been territorial fights or...whatever.

Personality:

Layla is one that can easily be called unpredictable. Her emotions have been known to get the better of her when they become to intense. Her highs can be high and her lows can be rock bottom. But that isn't to say she is always on rocky ground. Layla is an old soul with creative core. Her ups and downs come from her harsh upbringing, and trust is something she never really had. She has no faith in the people around her, but secretly she wishes for those real connections that truly mean something. Stay on her good side and you will have a slightly crazy yet always entertaining friend, get on her bad side and even she can't promise what will happen.


Biography:

Layla was born in a backwoods cabin in the bayou of Louisiana. Her father, a drunk and her mother was a half-drugged slut that had gotten knocked up. At least that was what her father always said. Her world was filled with fighting and dodging her father’s angry fists the most of her life. Her only reprieve from this was her time at school. Those few hours during the day were always her favorite, so she tended to do well despite her horrible home life. But in the end, Layla would have to go to face whatever mood her parents were in that day. As the horrible overly told stories go, her father would beat her during his bouts of anger and her mother of course sat back and watched it happen. After all as far as they were concerned Layla was only getting what she deserved.

When she was 14 things took a turn for the worst, coming home and heading straight for her room Layla saw that it had been trashed. Her artwork was torn and tossed every which way, it pissed her off and stupidly she turned and started to scream at her parents. They had gone into her room looking for the money she had saved from the part-time job she'd had. And ended up tearing up her room in the process, screaming and saying she needed to contribute to this home. In truth, her father had lost his job, and they needed the money to feed their addictions. But none of that mattered as her father came after her, slamming her into her room and trying to take advantage of her. After all, she could earn her keep one way or the other. Thankfully she managed to smash an old recorder over his head and knock him out. That was the last straw for her; Layla gathered a bag full of her things and ran away from the hell she had once had to call home.

Running away to the larger cities Layla found it easy to survive and take what she wanted from life. After all, when you are not used to having much, it didn't take a whole lot to make you happy. She took hanging out in libraries from time to time, reading what interested her to try and supplement when she didn't have it in school. During her time on the street, Layla found a crew as most runaways do and fell into some bad habits, drugs, alcohol, and sex...yeah again one of those all to heard stories.

Now 19 Layla has made it to NYC, the city that never sleeps and tends to spit you out when it's done with you. She survives by currently working at an adult sex shop (and has done a few fetish photos shoots for local photographers and clubs). The hours suit her, and it's fun to watch the perverts from time to time.
