otherworldly sentient trees

Had a dream a while back that involved a heavy scifi based story about humans discovering an uninhabited planet, or so they think. They soon come to find out, that it actually has a very highly advanced species of tree and an unfortunate ability to manipulate and
to cause mutation in flesh based life forms making them conform to the desires of the tree.

At some point, the unaffected humans begin to realize what has happened and war breaks out over the affected vs those who don't want to be affected.
This is basically an interest check to see if anyone else would like to play, and help create this story.
