The Dark Raven

Over the Sea to Skye
Sing me a song of a lass that is gone,
Say, could that lass be I?
Merry of soul she sailed on a day
Over the sea to Skye.

Billow and breeze, islands and seas,
Mountains of rain and sun,
All that was good, all that was fair,
All that was me is gone.

Sing me a song of a lass that is gone,
Say, could that lass be I?
Merry of soul she sailed on a day
Over the sea to Skye.

One moment, she traipses the countryside, enjoying the solace of a holiday away from the world, the next she is thrust into a confusing cacophony of the past with no grasp of where or when she might be, only that the faces around her seem a glaring echo of what she once knew and has not even come to pass for the people around her.  The strangers speak of her oddly, especially when her terror escapes her hold on it.  Between the charming young man who "saved" her and the savage man who seems to covet her, she is thrown into a tailspin of choices:  stay with her savior, give in to the fire of her captor, or flee and return to the comfort of home.
