Britannia

A flight to freedom.

Setting:

Darius a Sarmatian mercenary, recruited in the year of 306 AD.  As Constantius Chlorus sought to start the invasion of northern Britannia.  Finds himself in Londinium, at the marshalling of troops being brought in for the campaign forthcoming.   However, in a quarrel resulting from drinking and a game of chance going on.   Darius would kill a Roman centurion.  Needless to say it  was a fair fight, and the centurion had been the one to start the fight.    Never the less Darius is forced to flee north on the Britannia Isle.

Flee at first up the coast of  eastern Britannia.   Now a hunted crimmial with a warrent for his capture.   Of course this is bad enough, he through the flight has no papers for safe passage through Roman occupied lands.    He comes to a Roman villa near the  Roman town of Camulodonum.   Hungrey in need of supplies and a horse.   Darius would sneak into the Roman villa.   Where as he finds the wife Adena and daughter Hadara of a Roman noble.   

Luck is with him, for the husband is currently in Rome on business.   Of course the Britannia people of the villa, in servitude.  He learns from them that the husband is due back at the end of month from his business within Rome.   He has been gone for little over a year.  It is at this point the best course of survival and escape to freedom for himself.  Is to travel north across the Britannia Isle.   To flee pass Hadrian's wall.  To escape to the northern domain of the Picts.   So to more easily escape detection, he would force the Roman lady and her daughter to accompany him.  A familly,  would draw less attention and less chance of requiring papers.   Then a lone  man not of either of Roman heritage nor of one of the Britannia tribes. 

What Darius does not realize is the wife Adena is not Roman, but hebrew and thus making her daughter Hadara half hebrew.  Both non -Roman christians. 

Characters:

Darius -  Roughly between the age of 25 to 35 years of age.  From  western Scythia, of Persian heritage.  (other details to be filled in by player)

Adena - Hebrew wife of a Roman noble age 35.  (other details to be filled in by player)

Hadara - Daughter of Adena, age 18.  (other details to be filled by player]

Plot:

The plot device and subplots that form in the story.   Are first the overall theme of fugitive seeking freedom.  A  Roman wife that seeks freedom to escape the marriage she was forced into.  A daughter that completes with her mother.  Who with the mother is taken hostage yet flees for she  see's Darius as a chance to escape her life.  For her father plans are for a future in the Roman christian church of Augustine.    Where as the story has possiblitys in developing into a romantic tryest, that leads to incestious situlations of a sexual nature.  Finally the history of cultural predjudice of Darius peoples to the Hebrew heritage of the two women can become a factor upon his learning they are not Romans but indeed Hebrew.

Note:

Recruiting one to play Darius and one to play one of the two women.  I will play the other, not chosen  by the other player.
