BBCode : List Function giving me a real fight

So, just wondering what I'm doing wrong here. . .

I have a code I'm using when making lists. I'll list what I'm making and then the code I'm using with it:


• Information | Words Words
  
  • Subtitle Heading: Words
    Subtitle Heading: Words
• And then I would | repeat this sometimes
  
  • Subtitle Heading: And create more
    Subtitle Heading: Etc, Etc

Now, this works the first time. I don't have ANY problems out of it when I first create it and post it. But if I need to

edit the post later, all of a sudden EVERYTHING messes up and I get mysterious extra [/list]s at the end of the post. Nothing breaks and it still works, but these extraneous [/list]s just keep adding up with every edit.

What am I doing wrong? Am I missing a simple coding somewhere or am I pushing the list capability beyond what it likes doing. . . ? Any help is appreciated!

Edit: Actually, we can also see that it just totally mucked this post beyond words too. And added the extra [/list]s to the original code and. Um. Yeah. I'm beginning to think I'm pushing the limitations of the list function and not providing it something that it demands. Hm.

As someone who would normally use the list function nested, I'm rather interested in seeing the mechanics of making this work.  Someone else had the same issue and it was fixed in their post, but never explained how we can fix it ourselves.

Are we able, as users, to fix it, or is it something the mods must fix?

So, seems what I ultimately was missing a LOT of was a crap-ton of extra

Okay, I do have one more question. When I actually put these into practice after editing in the information I need, I get huge gaps between the list sections instead of it running pretty smoothly together.

Please don't mind that I'm taking this straight from the Timeline I'm coding for my Group Game.

Everything else seems right, but. . . >> Those spaces are huge.

EDIT: OOP, I FIGURED IT OUT. When I copy+pasted I included, like, a whole line of blank space in my word document. That could do it. <<;

Advice to other GMs: don't do this. Your players love you, but your eyes will hate you.
